I’ll put my hand up for the BBQ or pub idea, but as I said in the other thread, please make the location bumpkin freindly so I can find my way in from the bush.
Although, I woudln’t be adverse to the idea of a Wendy’s Banana Smoothy… mmmmmmm drool.
Can’t imagine a Wendy’s being exactly conducive to a meeting, but I would be interested in meeting some fellow Dopers. Sunday the 4th works for me (my social life is such a whirl), but please, not at Wendy’s. The pub or a barby sound OK.
I think planning a barbie in early August is a great way to bring about drought breaking rains 
Given the liklihood of it being cold I vote pub unless there is a cosy back up plan near the barbie locale. I am sure someone can do a cherry ripe thickshake run if we get desperate enough.
Yeah, I’m for a pub too, and preferably with a roaring log fire or a toewarming Coonara.
Having said that, Aug 4th will prolly turn out to be a glorious day, the sun will be shining, birds a’singing and we’ll all regret having vetoed the barbie idea!!

The park I suggested is near my place so if it rains we can all retire there to watch Buffy DVD’s, dry off and chat. Of course you have to promise not to be lunatic axe weilding murders or leechboy will never let me bring friends home again.

The pub - I recommended the Red Back because I know its good and does food. But it is close to the CBD so may be hard for out-of towners (thats you Tigergirl) to get to, then again its on a main road and the parking is good.
Somewhere near the CBD is probably best for me. The only suburbs I really know how to get to are the Eastern and South-Eastern ones. So pub gets my vote too!
The CBD would be fine for me too. All I have to do is head toward the big tall buildings right?!

The photo captures perfectly his “I’m about to jump up and grab that thing your holding which I’m sure is a super toy that you don’t want to share with me” expression. He had that same look of intent on his face when he stole my shoe as I was putting it on this morning.
