Oh, and he’s been removed from his position and Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court twice for judicial misconduct, is a birther and white nationalist conspiracy nutter, a professional fraudster who ran a non-profit charity foundation that failed to report much of its earnings and essentially operated as a slush fund and promotional voice for Moore’s book and speaking arrangements as well as employing various family members, and was encouraged to step down from this campaign by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, which is kind of like having a used car salesmen shocked by a lack of integrity. You know, if you want some facts about Roy Moore.

So if I understand what Mr Dibble is saying, it doesn’t matter if we don’t have hard evidence the molestation with the 14 year old occurred. It doesn’t matter that age of consent laws vary. If you are a man accused of something sexually inappropriate with someone under 18, you should be known as a pedophile.
As I posted on another thread, it’s not just about who’s outraged. Alabama’s Dixie-crat - I mean Republican party has been working hard at stripping minorities of their right to vote. If a lot of the people who are angry at Roy Moore and Alabama’s GOP want to vote, they may have to drive for an hour, wait in line for hours more, bring ID and other “proof” of residence, and then they still might have their votes tossed or challenged by powerful interests - or just the Secretary of State. And I wouldn’t at all be surprised if they get threatened with prosecution after the fact for even the slightest infraction - and Jefferson Beauregard Sessions’ Justice Department would probably be the last person on earth to use his resources to support the Civil Rights division.
Alabama’s voters may be angry, but Jones - a Democrat - is going to have to win the white vote in Alabama. It could happen - I have no way to know what the data say at this point. But I kinda doubt it.

This is why we can’t have nice things, or even civil discussions with one another. Can you think of any even slightly more charitable interpretation of Flyer’s or Covfefe’s comments? Like, I dunno, “I don’t think we should call people a pedophile based on evidence that wouldn’t be nearly enough to convict in a court of law”, or “I don’t believe the accuser”. I love the “hard evidence” cop out. It lets you buy the whole Republican bullshit narrative of it’s just “he said/she said” (it’s actually, he said/she said/she also said/and look over here she said/and she said), yet trying to pretend you’re not. Nevermind people have been sentenced to the death penalty based on just witness testimony. Nevermind that her friends at the time corroborate that she was seeing an older man while she says she was seeing Moore. Nevermind that at least 3 other women corroborate the fact that, while 30+ years old, he was dating and kissing teenaged girls.
There is no way I would prosecute Roy Moore for molesting the woman, but there is more than enough “hard” evidence that he is a creep, an immoral lying bastard, and he, as a 30+ year old, dated and had physical contact of a sexualized nature with teenaged girls.
I didn’t really weigh in on either of those posts, I was mainly concerned with the pre- vs post-pube pedantry, not the stupidity of mistaking the court of public opinion for a legal finding…
