OK, I fess up--I DO think Obama's the Messiah!

Been holding out for a while, even denying it online sometimes, but I literally do believe that Barack Obama is the Messiah, come back to earth in order to lead us mortals to paradise, and I will believe anything he says, or orders, or commands me to do, simply because I believe with all my heart that he is the manifestation of God’s will, and anything he says or does is therefore sanctified.

Still an atheist, though. Trying to reconcile that.

Funny, I think he’s a the antichrist.

And he’s still a Muslim, though. Trying to reconcile that.

He’s not the Messiah, he’s just a naughty boy!

that would account for the birth certificate thing.

::golf clap::

silly!

but i totally get the OP: why is it if people think that Romney is WORSE as an option than re-electing Obama we must be, necessarily, worshiping him?
it’s a weird way to look at things.

The truth shall set you free. Wait - that’s a quote, isn’t it? Who said that?

It’s the whole extremism thing that mars so much of the discourse here. If you don’t think that the North Koreans are the worst threat to human survival…then you must think they’re all fluffy bunnies.

A friend of mine is a conservative small-town newspaper editor. He wrote an editorial defending the right of American newspapers to print cartoons that would be insulting to Islam and to Mohammed. Someone sent him a bunch of such cartoons, and he chose not to print them. Promptly, a shitstorm blew up around him, calling him a hypocrite!

The idea that there might be some kind of middle ground, some kind of moderate stance, escapes the minds of such people.

He’s either the messiah or the worst president EVAH. I go back and forth,

It’s really a blatantly odd projection. We don’t like the things he’s saying because it’s he who says it, we like him because of the things he says.

Personal issues generally go in MPSIMS.

But this explains so much about why large numbers of people (secretly) are planning to vote for Obama! It really should be put bck in “Elections,” Tom–unless you’re a part of the mainstream media coverup, of course.

I need to get some sleep.

I thought you said you thought Oprah was the Messiah

Wouldn’t that be some shit, instead of a white man the Messiah is a black woman.

You know, from the viewpoint of a foreigner, this whole thing seems really odd. Obama simply can’t be the Messiah. Justin Trudeau is the Messiah. And he doesn’t even know it yet!

Definitely hotter…

A good salesman sells himself first. Obama is a charismatic individual, many will follow him blindly because he represents what they want to be and attaching themselves to him makes them feel like they have somehow become a part of what he appears to be. Many more simply agree with his politics and others like what he is offering, add them all up and it comes out to a bit more than 50% if he wins.

I can’t decide whether I agree with his politics or I like what he’s offering. Ah fuck it – I’ll just follow him blindly.

Does Obama raising 10,000 Floridians from the dead to vote for him count as voter fraud?

I’m not sure the Messiah has ever been a white man.

George Takei wants Asian-Americans to vote for Barack Obama.

Also, a whole lot of women think he’s pretty wonderful, too.

I don’t think you or the OP quite understand the phrase. He’s not called the Messiah because people think he’s better than Romney. He’s called the Messiah because he ran in 2008 on a platform of hopin’ and changin’ his way to prosperity. Conservatives mocked people who believed such claptrap by calling him the Messiah.

Now that it’s four years later and people can plainly see how thoroughly fooled they were, the Messiah smear is all the funnier in a “told you so” kind of way.
