Y’know, the only reason I used “norinew” was that, from the first time I ever had the internet (and it’s been over 10 years now), my email addy has been "norinew@whatever.whatever. This was the first message board I ever joined, so I stuck with the familiar “norinew”; it never occurred to me that folks would read it as “nori-new” until some of them started addressing me as “nori”. By then, eh, I didn’t feel like it was worth changing.
