OK, NotvGonna Happen,But Is There a Naming Scheme for Storms Past The Greek Letters?

Inspired by the latest post on This Post, is there a follow-on scheme for naming tropical storms if we were to actually use up the Greek alphabet?

According to the AOML FAQ:

In the Atlantic and East Pacific, if they have run through the list they then used the Greek alphabet : Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta,… etc. . So if they ever have a Hurricane Omega you know it’s been a busy year. At the present time there is no provision for retiring any of the Greek alphabet names, should one be so terrible as to be excluded. Fortunately, Tropical Storms Alpha and Beta in 2005 have been the only use of this option.

In the Central and West Pacific they have a perpetual lists of names, so when one list is through they simply start on the next.

Obviously it’s a tad outdated since we’re now up to Epsilon, but there does not appear to be any plan to go beyond the Greek alphabet.

…And in other news, Hurricane b has finally moved off into the Gulf, while Hurriane z moves ever closer to the Carolina shores. And this just in - tropical storm ( has just formed off the coast of Africa.
