OK, so who trained Obi-Wan?

This will all be answered in the pre-prequel

Episod i: Return of the Cash Cow

Okay, here’s where I become confused. Up until yesterday, when I saw AotC for the second time, I’d heard that Padawan is a term used for a master’s specific apprentice, i.e. Anakin is Obi Wan’s Padawan. But when I watched the movie yesterday, I distinctly heard Yoda call the group of children he was training with lightsabres his Padawans, as in all of them. What gives? Is Padawan just "student?

Maybe Yoda gets all the Jedi padawans in that age group as his own students. If you’ve got one of the greats in your staff, you might as well train as many students with him as you can. Or, maybe to Yoda, everyone is a padawan.

Yes: Yoda.

Luke’s trial was to face Darth Vader again, according to Yoda. “Only then will you be a Jedi.”

Skott: that makes sense - thanks.
