OK, who’s dating whom? Who’s married?

OK, so, how to approach this? I don’t think I’ll use your standard format. I, too, think a relationship needs a certain buffer space with this MB, but I also want to share what has been happening as well.

So, as you know, we drift by each other on this board so much, sometimes without really noticing someone who later turns out to be a good friend, or something even more, if we are lucky. I don’t know what makes it “click” when we do find those people, or if it is more of a gradual, “settling into” of sorts.

Anyway, this time, it seemed like both. I had seen Psycat here and there and had read her posts with increasing interest as I came to see how she could post with both logic and compassion, a combination that I find very rare, here or elsewhere.

We’ve discussed where(which threads) we really connected and there were a few, but the “Who Would You Date” thread and, funny enough a thread about vacationing were a couple of the main ones. I had said I was going to Mexico this Spring and Psy teased about going too. Guess where Who’s going to Cabo in May??!! Shortly thereafter, we started talking quite a bit and then I just knew.

Since then, we’ve been communicating almost every day with the godsend of ICQ and also in SD Chat in the evenings and more recently calling each other every night. We’ve never met in person, but I can tell you that it is going to be very, very, very soon for those of you who don’t know and who haven’t figured it out.

What more can I say? Thank god for the SDMB and all of it’s awesome members who kept me coming back for more. Seeing as how Psy and I live on opposite ends of the country, I doubt we could have met any other way…

Sorry if that was a bit long winded, I just wanted to get it right!

I am dating a doper. Erikmeister. Although he doesn’t come on here as often as I do.

It’s ok though, he’s still a cutie

All right, brain, I don’t like you and you don’t like me - so let’s just do this and I’ll get back to killing you with beer.

Well, if it wasn’t for jane’s big mouth, I don’t think anyone would have suspected.

Of course, the “playboy” remark blew the thing wide open.

Anyway, what’s for dinner, jane? Don’t say tuna casserole. Even the cats won’t eat it.

I’m married to UndeadDude, from the AOL boards and from General Questions here on the web. He hasn’t had time to post that much recently. We’ve been married 8+ years.

He actually introduced ME to the Straight Dope on AOL, but I think I got into the message boards before he did.

Nope, not in a relationship, not with anyone on the board or elsewhere…am alone, alas, alack and all that jazz.

I happen to be very single at the moment, on the board or otherwise.

Just FYI…

I have a wonderful girlfriend, very serious. Not a doper.

How do us sock puppets fit into this little equation?

I’m not dating anyone 'cause I’ve been happily married for 17 1/2 years. I’ve been married 24 years, but only happily for an aggregate total of 17 1/2.

My wife is not a Doper, but she tolerates my use of the board. Keeps me out from underfoot.

No surprise here - I’m married to PUNdit (Dale).

He got started on the old AOL board a few years ago & got me to occasionally answer a few questions.

Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted.

Ack!! Moosie! You showed such promise displaying that sig line but you got the book and the setting entirely wrong!

The line is actually from The Last Continent, Pratchett’s most recent book before The Fifth Elephant. It’s spoken by Seldom Bucket to Rincewind the Wizzard when he’s relating his troubles about finding a name and a dessert to honor one of the opera stars of the opera house where he works - Nellie Butt. And it takes place in Australia, not Ankh-Morpork

When are you going to realize being normal isn’t necessarily a good thing?

Married, but not to a Doper. Which is okay with me. This is my personal space, you know? He has his Telecaster Discussion Page, and I’ve got the SDMB.

But if I were single…oh wait, there’s already been a thread about that, hasn’t there?

Changing my sig, because Wally said to, and I really like Wally, and I’ll do anything he says, anytime he says to.

Oh, and for those who don’t know yet, I’m dating Jophiel and have been for the past year. He introduced me to SD, the board and anything else related to it

WallyM7? Do you commute to Virginia weekly or monthly? (Or do you just follow the geese down, once each year?)

Tom~

I’m not married…not dating anyone either, but occasionally I have a wild night of cybering with both Moosie and Sue. Those Canadian women can sure show you a good time

I really try to be good but it just isn’t in my nature!

Married to a soon-to-be Doper…I’ll leave his username anonymous for the time being!

I have a hobby. I have the world’s largest collection of seashells. I keep it scattered on beaches all over the world. Maybe you’ve seen some of it.

Not married, not dating anyone from the board…yet…

Erm, Nope.

She’s right. Seldom Bucket took over the Theatre after being in the Yoghurt and Cheese business, in Maskerade, and he can’t handle all the deaths, and the money spent on ballet shoes, going on in his Opera House.
