Okay, Dixie Chicks, you don't suck.

Last week, I posted a rant in the Pit because the Dixie Chicks cancelled a concert in Toronto for Thursday - and since I’d bought a plane ticket to see this concert and have been waiting to see them in concert excitedly, I was a little pissed. Apparently, it was due to the SARS scare, and while that wasn’t made clear when the concert was cancelled, it’s apparently clear now. So I was pretty pissed - hell, if I’m going to Toronto for vacation, they can go, too. So, my Dixie Chicks concert was cancelled (although I’m still making the trip - I get to see my friend and we have lots of things planned).

Today I get an email from a good friend of the friend that I’m going to see in Canada - this other friend lives about an hour and a half north of me, I’ve met her briefly once, and we’ve talked via email when our mutual friend was going through some health problems. Turns out she has two tickets to the Dixie Chicks at the MCI Center in Washington DC for June 26 and wanted to know if I wanted to go with her! Woohoo! It’s going to be tough - it’ll be the week after my brother’s wedding, I’ll have to leave right after work and drive fast to make it into DC in time (and I’ll have to drive in DC, which is not a great thing, but I’ve done it before), and then I’ll have to drive home that night after the concert because I’ll have to work the next day. And although it wasn’t as I planned, I STILL get to see the Chicks in concert! Woohoo! Everyone who’s seen them has said that this concert is amazing - and I was extremely bummed about missing it. I am NOT a country music fan except for the Chicks, and I did NOT want to miss this concert - as I said in my Pit thread, I have been DYING to sing along with Sin Wagon in the concert.

So, things have a way of working themselves out:). I get to see the Chicks!
