…but what does that crawl mean: “If you have to ask, it’s not Shock and Awe”?
It sounds like an ad campaign. Like they’re trying to build up enthusiasm with a teaser. “This is not Shock and Awe. This is not Shock and Awe. You’ll know Shock and Awe when you see it…Now that’s Shock and Awe!”
I’m assuming it was a quote from a military guy who was tired of the incessant “Is this the Shock and Awe? Is this? Is this?”
The media’s going bonkers over that phrase. It’s like they’re trying to prepare us for th Superbowl halftime show.
I always think of something to add just as I hit the “submit” button:
The answer I’d like to hear: “Are you shocked? Are you awed? No? Well, there you go.”
The current strategy seems to be “Slap and Tickle.”
From what I’m gathering from CNN, it looks like Shock and Awe is on hold, because there is a decent chance that leadership of Iraq is crumbling from within. That would be nice…
