Okay, so who has a crush on me?

Okay. Very simple, folks. I got email from crushlink.com, saying someone had signed me up as a crush of theirs.

The odds that it is someone off the boards is so small as to be laughable, if not statistically impossible. That’s why I’m asking y’all. I literally do not have a social life outside the boards (well, at least not one that would produce a crush).

So 'fess up:) They won’t tell me unless I give them email addresses of prespective crushes. And I ain’t doing that beyond the one I entered who I know won’t mind.

Unless, of course, people here WANT me to keep guessing. But then, if I guess, the people I guess probably get spam and put on random mailing lists, and I know we don’t want that:) Not that I’m threatening anything.

I just wanna know who likes me!

You sure it wasn’t your roommate?

I have a crush on ChiefScott, although I’m sure you’re very nice.

Well, sweetie, I do kind of have a crush on you, AND I like you bunches. But… it wasn’t me. Sorry!

Scotti

It wasn’t me either, but I got this email from them, too, a while back. It was sent to an email address I don’t post publicly, so I know that it had to be someone I know well enough to exchange email with. I’m still curious about who listed me, but I didn’t go through the process to find out, because that entails me (a married woman) guessing who it might have been in order to list “crushes” of my own, who would then have to try to guess…well, you get the picture.

I figure it was someone who had the same dilemma, and if I participate, I’ll just continue the cycle. Instead, I’ve chosen to pretend that someone actually does have a great big crush on me and I walk around all day wearing a self-satisfied smirk.

Oh, I’ve gotten those. And since they’re all anonymous, I just toss them out. I figure if someone really wants to tell me I’m the man of their dreams, they will do just that. And if it’s anonymous, it’s gotta be a prank.

I wouldn’t lose too much sleep over it, iampunha.

OK…

It was me.

I’d gotten one from someone else, and I knew I had a one in two chance of getting it right. It wasn’t you who sent the message, it was the other person.
::MsRobyn blushes beet red::

Robin

You know I do iampunha, but I’ve never seen crushlink.com.

In the spirit of confession, I must say I was the one who sent it to Robin. Someone sent ME one, and I just put in my entire Address book into the thing (not saying I dont have a crush on MsRobyn mind you, check the Valentines thread for proof).

So iampunha, I guess this means I have a crush on you by proxy.

Darn. Now that the mystery’s solved, there’s no need for me to confess to having an enormous crush on punha, is there?

Sigh…

::::: opens can of Orange Crush :::::

:::::: empties can on iampunha’s head ::::::

Tah-DAAAAAAAH!

E.

Oh, and Coldfire, you are the man of my dreams.

Errr…

Right.

Thought I’d poke your ego.

Elenfair, whose brain is frozen in the great Canadian Norff.

I got one of those once, and entered in all my email addresses. They offered me a couple of hints, but only if I would fill out a marketing survey and sign up for advertising on a bunch of different sites. I think it is a scam. But I would have voted for your roommate!

Isn’t entering your address book into sites like this crush.com thing dangerous? Sounds like having sex in a land that knows no rubber.

Whole thing sounds zany.

Are you sure you didn’t send it to yourself? No one loves you more than you love yourself…

Are you sure that it wasn’t your roommate?

Sheesh, Joey!

Could you just give it a rest?

It would show more class.

Scotti

Strangely enough, I got one of these a while back. I couldn’t quite figure it out at first, but I think I got it figured out for the most part. I narrowed it down to two names after a while.

Anyway, it seems to me that it isn’t exactly a good way to find out who your crushes are. If someone else tried to figure out their crushes and just entered every e-mail they know, you’ll get an e-mail if they don’t get the person right. I know that’s not exactly playing by the site’s rules, but that’s what I did. I erased them after I finished trying but if I’d just left it, they’d have gotten e-mails.

But yeah, like Sapphire said, the site seems like a bit of a scam.

Yeah, the site is a scam. Today I got ANOTHER email from 'em, telling me I could get a hint word as to who it was if I filled out this form thing.

Guess what hint word I didn’t get. Buggers.

BTW, since the question’s been asked and answered (and to avoid further speculation about my roommate), I’d appreciate if a mod could close this. And if need be, feel free to delete it. For server space and all that. Or whatever:)
