OKC Dopers please check in. TORNADO

Screwed up my coding. Dang. :smack:

Stay safe, guys. I’m no fan of storms myself, though I’ve never been in a tornado. I’ve been in a few warnings, though, so I’ve been close.

Just a quick update before the cookout.

We did a real group effort (me and friends) cleaning up and doing the minor repairs needed (mostly roofing).

We were very fortunate. NCG and roomy’s place got power back this aft and we cleared yard and did shingles early. Another friend’s place had slightly more work to do, but no structural damage. Funnel tracked a few blocks south of girl’s place, beelined to me, and lifted for about a mile or two, so the damage around where I live was debris falling from the sky and some straight line winds of (possibly) 80 -100mph for a breif time. Car will get taken care of as soon as insurance deals with it. NCG and roomy may get a new roof out of this (insurance) and I will contract it if allowed.

All my friends and family are ok, tho some still without power.

We were very fortunate.

Thanks for all your concern. All here say “Hi!”

Just one more post. In the swimming pool is a large tree. The brick wall arounf the pool also got taken out. I hadn’t noticed until my cousin asked me about it. (I can be pretty focused at times.)

So, I guess my place really did get hit, not just the car windows.

Wow.

Yesterday’s cookout was a really needed bit of relaxation.

Thanks again to everyone, and I’m glad you are all safe.

Another update.

A man has died tonight as a result of injuries from the Warr Acres tornado.

145 injured.

Over 450 homes destroyed (total of both storms).
