Did anyone ever actually PLAY Mousetrap? We used to set it up and watch the contraption operate, but I don’t remember ever actually playing the game.
The first time I ever saw them was on a Paste Magazine video sampler, their video for “A Million Ways” that Trish Sie (the sister of one of the band members) choreographed, and which was apparently intended for practice, not distribution. But they ended up liking it, & so (rightly) released it.
Trish Sie also came up with the idea for, and choreographed, produced & directed the treadmill video (so, full credit to her).
And 21h later, I am one of today’s 10,000.
Only watched the one video, but I’ll probably come back to this thread sometime in the future and watch more. Cool stuff.
Thanks for posting this!! The first video of theirs I ever saw was “This Too Shall Pass,” which is still one of my favorites.
That was a one-off, but then I rediscovered them during the pandemic and really like the videos for “The One Moment” (current favorite), “Obsession,” “Needing/Getting,” “I Won’t Let You Down,” and “The Writing’s On The Wall”.
And this thread just inspired me to book tickets to see them live next month.
Pretty much like almost everyone else, the treadmills was my first exposure.
For me,“This One Moment” is a very close second(The Slo Mo Guys is my favorite Youtube channel).
She also has her own video with an OkGo song.
I’m sure many of you have seen this, but…while the treadmill video is fantastic, doing it in one take in front of your high school peers is majestic.
WOW!!!
Talk about hitting a walk-off home run.
Which dog do you consider the G.O.A.T.?
The one pulling Andy across at around 2:50, of course.
They really are terrific and it helps that while I am not a huge fan of their music, it does seem to fit really well to their videos.
A side by side comparison shows just how near perfect the re-creation was.
I’d say that the kids did a better job since they not only had to do the moves but their timing had to stay split-second perfect.
I was coming to see the dogs video was my first exposure. I love all their videos but White Knuckles is great because…dogs!
Ha!
New BTS video just dropped, and now I finally get the Meta/Ray Bans connection, and Tim’s final words in the original. Obvious that some of the shots in this were from earlier takes or just rehearsals.
Today I went and did some errands. On the way home I turned on the radio in the car, tuned to NPR; I was half listening to it when I suddenly realized – they were interviewing OkGo.
If they didn’t do the whole interview in one take, I’ll be disappointed.
That was fun!
I wonder what the audience saw.
Probably their living room, since it was on the radio, presumably.
