(Old) A Day Off in the MMP

There was much weeping though. For fifty-six years I’ve been Bruce Wayne, and I could have been Batman. If I’m transgender, what does that say about the last fifty-six years?

The last twenty-five years have been the best of my life.

I’ve said multiple times that I feel complete with Mrs Magill. I also feel complete as “Mollie”. I’d expressed to her how grateful I am that she’s been helping me in this journey.

I know I’m not the husband she wanted, but I’m the spouse she’s got. I hope she’s good for the long run.

My therapist reminded me that “Maus” is the strong one who protected “Mollie” before she was ready to shine.

I want to shine.

Maus is learning to walk, so Mollie can fly.

Hey, anyone want to quote Monty Python?

It was an adjustment for me when I went from 5 8 hour days to 4 10 hour ones. When I worked 5 day weeks, I just spent 45 minutes to an hour after work doing chores. There really wasn’t time in the evenings working 10 hour days, so I made Friday the chore day. You’ll get something figured out and get adjusted doing chores soon.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s currently 67 degrees Ferret Height(19.444 Centipedes).

ROMANES EUNT DOMUS

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 12c/53f with a predicted high of 16c/60f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “It’s a good fucking day to go muddin’.”

It’s annoying that the angry Italian woman had to get involved too, but the manager won’t want to repeat that experience in a hurry!

What a wonderful day for you! Sounds like you have been worrying unduly about Mrs Magill, which would be quite natural, but hopefully the therapist was able to provide reassurance there. Congrats on the compliment too, sister! I am really looking forward to the day when you feel ready to share a pic of Mollie with us

Aww…no Gotcha Day treats for him?

Yesterday was busy in the end after I decided to create a tracking spreadsheet for a lot of my end-of-session stuff. I will get that finished today and then spend tomorrow putting the detail into the framework. I logged out and did some birthday gift shopping for 'im indoors, then went to make campus food for the rest of the week.

I got a notification from IT Services about equipment being moved next week, I just have to let them know what time I want them to disconnect everything. They’ll install it in the new office on the following day but we’ll all be out at a conference thing so they can get on with that at their own pace.

Today there’s just two of us in the office, and my colleague will be leaving at lunchtime for a doc’s appointment and going home to work remotely afterwards as the surgery is closer to her home than it is to campus. That means I’ll be alone in the office all afternoon, and all day tomorrow. Yay for peace and quiet!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 60 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 86 and sunny. I start the eliminate certain foodstuffs from my diet portion of prep for colonoscopy today. Instructions say no corn, peas, beans, and nuts (N.O.N). We eat a lot of peas and beans. This means I actually have to think when I make sup. I get confused when I have to think. I shall survive, however. We will be our usual RDOS sloth selves today. Sup will be grilled poke chops, squish, a cheesey broccoli and rice thing from a box (don’t judge!) and rolls. I will offer to do some peas or beans for OYKW if he desires them. I am nice like that, dammit!

Mollie an angry phone call from an Italian woman does not sound pleasant. I am sure that manager won’t make that mistake again.

BooFae enjoy the orifice quiet. Sounds like chaos may abound with the move next week.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Today is starting at 62 Ferrets, which works nicely since I left all the windows open overnight. We’re headed to low 90s today, then looking ahead, Moanday overnight they’re threatening mid-30s. What to do, what to do??

I finally emptied the dishwasher (had to make sure everything was dry, right?) and I’ve got the icemaker running. FCD is still abed, and once he’s up, I’ll shower, dress, and go finish painting so I can get home and plant the Lilac that was delivered yesterday. Still need to decide where it’ll go, tho. I also want to move 2 hydrangeas, since we’ll be tearing down the deck and I don’t want them in the middle of the yard.

There’ll be some erranding in there, too. So a pretty busy day in store.

Happy Thursday!!

I had quite an afternoon and evening of roaring tinnitus, hyper-sensitivity to sound, and then finally a total loss of equilibrium. I felt like I was on the tilting deck of a ship on a rough sea. So of course that was followed by a violent bout of vomiting. This morning I have to go to urgent care at 8 a.m. and make sure that I don’t have an ear infection. I almost hope it is one, as that can be taken care of by antibiotics. But if this is chronic (and I’ve had these symptoms on and off since 2023), then that’s going to suck mightily.

Howdy all. Just laying in my room after touring the Rock of Gilbratar. Neat place but once you’re done with the tour not much else to see or do. Have been to some interesting places and as soon as I see how much Verizon is going to gouge me I’ll try to get some photos up. So far it has been a good trip with some old friends (you all are my new friends) and still about a week to go. I’ll try to stay in touch as much as I can but being a tourist in a place I have never been can be exhausting. Pro Tip: Portugal is very hilly even in the cities and you seem to spend most walking time going uphill.,.but there are usually bakery treats at the top and boy howdy they are worth the climb…

Take care all, checking in every couple of days doesn’t let me follow much but I’ll keep you all in my mind (or what’s left of it.

Yesterday, after our taxes had been filed, Mrs. Nott found the form she’d been searching for. It was a receipt for a donation to a state university. That entitles us to a dollar-for-dollar tax credit off the final bill. She’ll file an amended return.

FCMaaa, “military week,” really? Gosh, that’s a new one on me. I wonder how many kids showed up with anti-war t-shirts.

Metal_Mouse, I see what you mean. “Yup, sure is a big rock. Now what?”

… pretty much everything. { gestures vaguely }

Up for bio break, listening to birds stubbornly chirping in the rain, and having a bit of last night’s squash soooooouuuuuuup before hopefully dozing back off for a bit.

ETA hope @teelabrown is recuperating with a satisfactory diagnosis & proper meds. And a blankie.

Mornin’ all.

It’s 35F and partly cloudy. Also, there is snow on the ground. Our expected high is 55F, with a mixture of clouds and sun. Yesterday was pretty wild: thunder, lightning, copious hail, and even a water spout up north. By last night, everything was white, and snow was coming down. It was wet, heavy snow, but it was snow, all the same. In mid-April..

Metal Mouse, I’m looking forward to your pics, whenever you can post them.

Teela, hope you got into urgent care and got some relief for your ear.

Not much is going on here. It’s a little too cool for gardening, and I don’t have anywhere I need to be.

You all take care.

That’s a place I really wish I could make another visit to. Went up to the top of The Rock with a bunch of friends. We were walking, but when we got to the stairs we decided to go up them – everyone who counted steps on the way up got a different total, but IIRC the average was somewhere around 410. That part was definitely not fun. :slightly_smiling_face: We rode the cable car to get back down.

I’m sure you saw the “Do not feed the apes” signs. My immediate reaction was “Do not feed the apes – to what?”

Outta state, dude!

Snow is no longer predicted, but we’re supposed to drop to 30 Ferrets Monday night.

Good morning! We had a good walk this morning… at least until the end. We took Chloé off her leash in front of the house before we went in. Unbeknownst to the humans involved, there was a rabbit in the front yard. It took another five minutes to recover the very smug puppy-dog from four yards away. I haven’t seen anyone so smug since Smuggy McGee won the international smugness competition of 1985.

The new bagel shop had their soft open this morning, so Mrs Magill headed over to join the crowd after her shower. She picked up an everything bagel for herself as a “baseline test” to see how they compare to the good bagel shop up in Nashville. She also got a garlic bagel for us to try at lunch. I just checked in with her. She likes the seasoning better, and it is nice an chewy. I’m toasting the second half right now - she wants to see if it crunches up nicely. “It’s good, and they’re closer.” is the official review. She suggested I stop by tomorrow morning - after school starts - the shop was full of high school students and teachers.

At the risk of repeating myself - Thank you. The MMP is one big reason “Mollie” is getting to shine.

JtC - Good show on the garden. I have my potatoes, tomatoes, and bell peppers in. I’ve given up on cucumbers. I never know when to pick them, and I always pick them too late to be any good.

“People they call Romans, they go to the house?”

Romani ite domum

Now write it a hundred times before dawn, or I’ll cut your balls off.

Boofae You never want to encounter the Angry Italian Woman. I encountered her once while we were engaged. Never again.

A filtered and pixelated Mollie:

Just a couple of flowers that I think are number one for No Kings Day.

Teela - Ask your Doc about Ménière’s disease. Your symptoms sounds like Alan Shepard’s.

Metalmouse Gotta earn those bakery treats.

Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing

lovely! go mollie!

Damnit! Now I’m getting teary - and I’m on a call.

I was helping do the Twilight packages, then loading 200 Top Yellow. About the same volume as yesterday, so not too bad. I did my Senior day shopping afterwork. $106. But I did buy TP since that was on sale, along with olive and pasta. When I was coming to the complex, I saw the plumbing people who were supposed to do the water thing yesterday, so I hustle in, and jumped in the shower first thing, since there was still pressure. Which ment two days running, I’ve gone striaght to the shower, without giving Spot his usual grooming, so he’s a little cheesed. Admittedly, he’s been cray cray cray all week, so it didn’t. bend him that much more out of shape. I had some pico de gallo and tortillas I needed to use up, so I had chorizo and egg breakfast tacos. And it’s 11:30 A.M. and I still have water pressure.

He’s not big into treats. or my cooking.

{{{{Lucky}}}}

I assume the Royal Navy.

Huge…tracts of land.
But looking good, Mollie.

I think somebody’s watched Predator one too many times.

I have been posting my quilting pictures here. Today, I thought I would share one from Sunflower:
