Oddly, driving from your place to the corner of Maine is a couple hundred miles farther than either diagonal. That route has to go down and around the Great Lakes, which adds some distance.

Unless you drive through Canada. When my folks use to drive from northern Indiana to visit family in Buffalo, NY, they’d cross at Detroit / Windsor and traverse Ontario.

I cleaned, took out the trash and recycling(uphill! Both ways! Through the snow110 Heat Index!). I made crock pot poke loin with potatoes(seasoned with basil, rosemary, parlsey, garlic, and orange peel). and a Wisconsin Old Fashioned.

That is a stack of 24" x 6" quilter’s rulers. They are made of plastic about 1/8" thick and are used as guides to cut the fabric pieces that are later sewn together. We have a lot of different rulers used for this purpose

And, thanks to a post in the Retail Therapy: What’s The Most Fun Thing You’ve Bought on a Whim? thread, I also ordered a wooden tram car kit; it will arrive this afternoon. I’m hoping it will scratch the same mental itch as assembling a Lego set, because these wooden kits are a lot cheaper! If it turns out well enough, I might offer it to my father as home decor: he loves cable cars and trams.

I hope you enjoy it! I’ll be honest, that’s way more complex than any of the wooden models I ever built haha.

While starting out, be mindful when you’re pushing the pieces out of the sprues. They generally come out pretty cleanly, but you’ll want to be careful in working/pushing the thin pieces out. (There’s generally a little “crook”-like tool to help push them out.) Work your way down the longer/thinner pieces and don’t try to “bend” them out, and don’t break any gear teeth! You’ll get the hang of it quickly.

Before my last post I also looked at the drive from Imperial Beach California, just north of Tijuana, to a small town similar to yours right where Maine ends and Canada begins.

I may be one of few people who have lived in Northeast Maine and San Diego. I spent a summer in Machias, went to school in Orono, and my family is from near Blue Hill. If you ever saw the children’s book One Morning in Maine you saw my great grand father.

76 Ferret Height. Feels hotter. I have the fan blowing on me, but I’m still ‘glistening’. I’ll have the fan on me when I go to bed in a few minutes. It’s going to be uncomfortable for the next few hours. SWMBO says I need to get the a/c out tomorrow. I’d planned to go to the credit union for my lunch break, but I’ll set up the a/c instead. I’ll go to the CU after irk.
