(Old) A new topic for Slackards in the MMP

I am, for the most part. I did get a good nap in this afternoon.

Dinner was fried chicken thighs and corn on the cob. I was disappointed with the corn. I’m usually The Corn Whiperer. I always pick out the fresh ears without any bugs. Every ear had a worm on the top. Every one. My mother’s mother was raised on a corn farm in Maryland. She was a corn snob. My mother was a corn snob, and I’m a corn snob. My mDNA providers are deeply disappointed in me right now.

I mean the corn was still tasty after the offending bit was cut off, but still!

The chicken was good, though. Unfortunately, the last half of my second piece tasted like regret and bad decisions.

Ughh, fuck. I just discovered that my silverware drawer, the top above the spill and the crack, is sticking badly now, where it didn’t before. Now I’m pretty sure there’s some kind of water damage.

Any guesses as to how expensive this will be…?

(And the jug that I’m pretty sure leaked all the water was on my floor for days, and it’s still dry. I have no idea how this happened to begin with.

I need two watches to ‘complete’ my collection. Unfortunately, I can’t afford them.

There are only 6 of them. I find the just as funny as the LL Bean shoe car.

Leaper I fear you have water damage, as in things have swollen and are no longer the right size. Jug on the floor? Does the silverware drawer have metal slides or does it go out on wooden rails? Cost could vary wildly, depending on what the find, and who you hire.

Gotta work in the morning, off to bed. Stay safe y’all.

This is a trick I already knew. I didn’t wear makeup the other day, so my cleavage wasn’t as deep as I’ve made it in the past. I have photos, but they’re filtered. I can share if people are interested, as long as you ignore the face up.

In a way, you’re going through what a lot of tween/teen-ish/early 20s girls go through: experimenting with makeup (oh, gawds, my attemps at blush!) going through “phases” and trying out different looks (one week you’re Goth, next week, who knows, maybe prairie skirts?) until eventually, you settle on “you” … whoever that may be.

I burned my “lunch” break coming home to check, but nope. Spent the rest of my shift more than a bit hungry, but ye gawds it was too hot to even think about food. And I wasn’t ezzactly in a happy mood anyway, so appetite approached nil.

Left a very small handful of kibble by the door as a bribe/peace offering, before I headed back, but all evening just clung to hope that after a warm, sunny afternoon in a black fur coat maybe he’d rethink his life choices.

The only silver lining with all that, was I had a small order from Amazon that I forgot was supposed to show up today, so at least I could rescue/retrieve the box when I briefly revisited home.

One of the items was … kitteh treats. :upside_down_face:

Sure 'nuff after we finally closed (and yes, I said prayers to the moon the whole way home) he was waiting for me at the door, HOWLING like I’m the one who kicked him out or something.

After some suitable time with his water bowl, and some more suitable time begging for gooshy-fud - dude, you are On Notice And Grounded ™ and you think you’re getting the good snax? - he is now plopped in my lap.

This made me smile.

Paul, sweetie, you hit the JACKPOT!

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly laughed my ass off.

Whelp { slaps thighs in Midwestern } now that my fuzzbutt prodigal son has returned, I can finally relax and think about food, and possibly a nice shower.

And AW CRAP I forgot about the trash bin & I’m already de-sheveled. The neighbors already heard me yelling “MONKEY!” endlessly … how much more judge-y if I wheel the bin out in my bathrobe at 2 a.m.?

The boy needs a tracker tag, or an indoor-only lifestyle.
