(Old) About your favorite pet in the MMP

I saw this “vicious” cat attacking another one and thought it would amuse everyone.

It is safely hosted on my flickr account, click on the pic to get the vid.

Last week I had the oil changed in the Prius. They also reattached the plastic shield behind the front bumper, and replaced a license plate light. $90. I just picked it up from the shop again. This time it got new brake rotors, new brake pads and shoes, new callipers, and a new serpentine belt. A kilobuck.

A couple of years ago my catalytic converter was stolen, and USAA totalled the car because of it. (Nothing else wrong with the car.) So now I’m driving it on a Salvage title. I got a new CT for two kilobucks. The hybrid battery is good, and had a module replaced a few years ago. I’ve got more in parts than the car is worth!

Big, fast storm came thru and killed much of the intrarwebs in the area
Estimated repair time is midnight. No TV. No surfing except what we can do on the phone. I foresee an early sleepy-bye!

JtC. love the vid! The phrase used on IG is skippity pap, which is more like slapping upside the head.

I wish I knew where my appetite went.
I feel okay though.
Spaghetti for supper.
My friend drove us to the former job, they said we can’t write the note, only Josh can.
Been calling and texting Josh daily for over 2 weeks.

When I saw it I had this dialog running through my head:

I am Indigo Meowo and you stepped on my paw. Prepare to die!

Patpatpat

Turns away, then turns back:

You’re still here? Take this, then!

Patpatpatpat

Victim: I think something just happened.

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Birthday Wheelie!

We finally got rain.
I hope it cools off.

I irked today and it was okay.

My son is not too happy with irk, but he thinks the OT is over.
He has almost enough leave to take a week’s vacation.

And in the unhappy news department…

My cousin is not going to make it.
She is only 44, and her six kids range in age from college student to 1st grade.
My aunt and uncle are driving from FL to NC to see her, and then I think she is going to be disconnected from life support.
My uncle was back in the hospital and just got out two days ago, and he is not doing well either.
I’d heard my cousin was doing better and there was hope for a recovery, even though it was going to take months. Her heart was beating on its own and she recognized her sisters.

I just sent cards Monday, all arriving too late, I guess.
I sent a ‘here’s a hug’ card to my aunt. Having her husband and daughter in the hospital at the same time, two different hospitals, in two different states, 6 hours apart, must be horrible for her.

Apparently the Smalls sup told T, the woman who doesn’t want to be there, “we’re in trouble.” Like SSLAW #1 going down for an hour, 3 Hazmat spills, and 2 jams on Yellow resulting in 3 shutdowns on a day when we did 60K was somehow our fault.

Weather App is channeling Nihilistic Arby’s today.

It’s all about the bass

We’re here for you, {{{{RealFish}}}}

I missed the post. I’m sorry your cousin is not going to make it. :frowning:

Mrs. L.A. has an appointment for tomorrow, for a spot on her hand (and a couple of other raised spots) she thinks may be skin cancer. One of her patients has, or had, skin cancer, and now has lung cancer. I do not like cancer.

Some spammy female commented on a FB post of Abbey:

Your fur baby is really cute, I really want to pet its little head. Is it friendly to strangers?

Ordinarily, I’d ignore the post. But I replied, ‘She’s a sweetie. But my wife scratches and bites.’

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave,

I’m glad you’re not ashamed of your kinks. < d&r >

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 17c/62f with a predicted high of 24c/75f, and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “All the fucking clouds can basically get back in their Jeeps and fuck off into the valley of Aw, Hell No.”

Happy birthday, Wheelie

Aww…he’s gorgeous! He looks like he would love someone to snuggle with. We are having two new lodgers arriving on Monday - they’re five years old, black and white mogs (Molly and Watson). They were adopted as kittens from Little Paws, the grotbag who had them has since moved house, got a new man, had a baby and is moving house again. She does not want the cats, and has threatened to turf them out on the street. All the rescues are full, all the fosterers are full, so we are squeezing them in at ours until a couple of other cats get rehomed and they can go to more suitable foster accommodation. I has a GRRRRR! at that woman.

I have a bank account with 48p in it. The bank closed their branch in my local town, then closed the one in the nearest Big City. I then dealt with the branch where my mum lived, but that closed too. I decided to move my account to another bank that had a branch in my local town, and was open on Saturdays which is really useful for me. The old bank told me I could close the account by going into a branch to do so…yes, but there aren’t any! Then I tried to close it online as I had that facility too, but the process wouldn’t complete no matter how many times I tried it. So I moved all the money out, but they only allowed me to transfer whole pounds, not loose change. Thus the account remains open, with a balance of £0.48 which they now keep sending me statements about.

I’m glad you popped in, I have been following your updates on the book of faces but it’s good to see you here too. Sounds like you have a lot going on but you’re finding the strength to deal with things. You’re stronger than you think!

Interesting times…I ordered a hoodie the other day. It’s from a band who are based in Cambridge, which is roughly 112 miles from where I live. I got an email saying my package had been shipped and gave me a tracking reference number. Yesterday I decided to click the tracker and see where my hoodie had got to, thinking it was coming via Royal Mail or one of the courier services. It might be here tomorrow or Friday…it was received by the Latvian postal service on Monday, and arrived in the UK yesterday. It was “handed over for delivery” at 7.04am today. So my hoodie will have travelled 1,559 miles to get to me.

Not much happening in my day today, I’m on campus and have a bunch more forms to create for incoming first year students. Then I’ve got a load of stuff to do at home later, 'im indoors is doing ribs for dinner so they are marinating in the fridge today. Tomorrow we are planning to leave the house by 10am to travel down to Kent (174 miles, could have picked up a hoodie on the way!) for a weekend music festival and staying with friends. It’s going to be fun, and it’s also going to be hot!

Annie and I have been reading along and would like to send yays, hugs, and boos as needed.

I have a job interview this morning. The pay is honestly not very good, but the place seems to have the right kind of vibe where I might feel like I fit in and could possibly call it home. We shall see.

More posting when the dog isn’t trying to hog the keyboard.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 92 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I must once again go out amongst the great unwashed. I have a doc and vampire appointment at nine-fifteen this mornin’. Since I can’t eat before I see the vampire, as soon as that’s over Ima call OYKW and he will meet me at Pearly’s where we shall break fast with one of their pig out specials. This will take care of the main need to feed for the day. Then I shall go over to the church house and deal with candle and other duties. The rest of the day shall be spent in high RDOS inactivity.

Real_Fish glad you checked in. A lot goin’ on there but you seem to be handlin’ stuff well. Yay for CtE graduatin’ high skool!

MOOOOOOM hope your intartoobz is back soonest.

VanGo hope you are feelin’ better today.

red Happy Doperversary!

Now I need more caffeine. Then, I suppose I should get purtified to go get doctorfied and other stuff. I have had to be amongst the great unwashed for the past five days in a row. This must cease forthwith!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

My pets are all the favorites while they are with me. But like your Bernie the longer they are with me, or the older they are, the more I dread their passing. My current cat is Atilla, the only pet I’ve had whose birthday is known to me, born sometime in the night between April 29 and 30 in 2007, in my backyard. Being OCD with numbers I have figure that on October 8 of this year he will be one quarter the age I am. And considering that on my next birthday I’ll be seventy that’s saying something.

But I adore my Mauser the dachshund too. He’s snoring on the recliner just now. Only had him seven years but he was five when I got him. His original owner abandoned him when moving.

Intrarwebz is back but I think a VERY close by lightning strike fried our modem. Dammit. So I guess we’ll be stopping at Best Buy today. More later.

@Wheelz

(snicker) I could practically HEAR Kitty #2 thinking “What is his deal, anyway?”

Buddy’s a bit more straightforward about being an annoyance to Allie. A day or two ago, she was grumbling as she went past him, so he reached out and swatted her butt. Earned him some loud hisses.

He’s also trying to drive the humans up the wall. For those who aren’t members of Buddy’s Facebook group, DH and I came home from a get-together of Jeep enthusiasts, and I’m pretty sure I heard something falling just as I was unlocking the door. Got inside, and a container of treats had been knocked off the shelf onto the floor, and he was munching away. Started eating faster once he noticed me cleaning up the spill, too. Little brat.

At least this evening I was able to medicate him without help. Get him backed up against me, scruff him with left hand, wiggle syringe into his mouth and squirt with right hand. Saves DH some claw wounds, which had been getting to be a problem. The cat is definitely getting stronger and more energetic. He’s not back to lap Velcro or helping humans sleep yet, but I’m hoping his mood improves.

Good morning, Mumpers!

It’s 59F and clear outside. The sunshine will be plentiful today, with an expected high temperature of 86F. I will need to get out and water all the posies today and perhaps turn on the sprinklers for the yard, too.

Happy Birthday, Wheelie!

Jtc, that’s a very cute video!

Sari, I’m sorry about your cousin and uncle.

It seems the pups are becoming picky eaters, or maybe the heat has affected them. I’ve been feeding the same type of chow pretty since December or January. It’s specific to puppies and large-breed dogs and is not inexpensive. If we mix the kibble with some scraps from our dinner, they’ll eat some of it but mostly don’t finish it. This business started with their ear infections, so I’m unsure what to attribute this to. I will have to try a new type of kibble and plan to pick some up on Friday. They’ll eat almost anything else we put before them, but the kibble is a no-go. We’ve also tried the “leave food out, and they’ll eat when they’re hungry” thing. Nope. I came down to full food bowls this morning, and all the other times we’ve tried. I’ve also just picked up the bowls after an hour, hoping they’d realize food disappears if they don’t eat at mealtimes. I feed them twice a day, so the last time they ate was breakfast yesterday, and the only reason they ate that was because I mixed in a little shredded cheese.

They’re too young to be this picky and they’re LABS for Pete’s sake!

Yesterday, I endured a string of meetings, a talk with my budget analyst, who made a boo-boo, and a lot of work. I had a talk with the rest of the ELT and explained how I planned to spend the rest of our funds for the year. I also met with the MPA and explained that we needed to get moving on those purchases and include the national contracting branch in some of the purchases because we’ll exceed her monthly credit card limit. We got our money so late this year that it’s really difficult to spend it.

Each year, around this time, we create a spending plan for the next fiscal year. I planned for quite a bit, and we actually received everything we asked for. The problem is that we were under Continuing Resolution Authorities until very late this fiscal year, so for most of the year, we were given funds to “keep the lights on” and take care of mission-essential travel.

My SD insists we’re not giving any back and has plans for that money if I don’t spend it on essentials for our staff and travel mission. She wants to grab even more for a cooperative agreement, and I’ve already put aside a good chunk of change for that. So, trying to spend this money, including perhaps buying some cubicles for an office, and get it done by 6 September is very frustrating.

We plan to bathe the pups this weekend. They’re overdue.

I also need to call the vet and see about getting Buster neutered. I plan to call every day, but then events overcome me. I need to get it done, though. This will be no simple neuter job since they have to search for the second testicle because it never dropped.

Alrighty, I need to get my butt in gear.

Oh, sari, that’s so hard. I’m sorry.
