I go with a mix of ketchup & BBQ sauce. Does that make me basic?
At home, I’ve only had it/made it with tomato sauce. Out, I’ve had it with BBQ sauce or brown gravy (maybe catsup at some point). I prefer the tomato sauce.
Just got back from running errands. Mrs Magill had taken Chloé to the Lowes and Home Despot to find floor vent rerouters. I met up with them at Petsmart to look at pet strollers for us to take to the Hershey RV show next month. We figured a stroller would keep Chloé contained and we’d have someplace to put all the shit that accumulates at RV shows.
Since we were in Smyrna with Chloé, it was mandatory that we go by the Andy’s for ice cream for us and a pup-cup for her.
It’s been a good day to be a puppy-dog.
Car shopping today ending up being way easier than either my friend or I anticipated. We didn’t realize the car she wanted was at a no-haggle dealership. I was able to get them to reduce some of their fees, but it was still about $1k higher than we had hoped to settle on. However their offer for her trade in was $3k higher than we had thought possible! So we both felt like it was a good deal, and she was happy to have company/someone to bounce things off of.
It was definitely one of the better car buying experiences I’ve been involved in (and I’ve had some doozies - why do so many car salesmen treat women terribly??). But of course that did take longer than anticipated and after a few errands I’m tired and ready to chill the rest of the evening.
I did finally break down and order new blinds for the house through Lowe’s and they got delivered this afternoon. I needed 17 blinds ($ ouch) which is why I had been putting it off, but the current blinds are old, thin vinyl that are brittle with age. The cats are positively destroying them and now I’ve only got enough of those for the street-facing windows. Hopefully my sister and/or BIL are available tomorrow to help me hang them.
Mollie hope you are already starting to feel better and climb out of your low. Ice cream always helps!
flyboy you’ve got me craving meatloaf now. One of my better iterations involves spreading the seasoned meat out in a flat square, placing sliced cheese along the top (provolone works well, goat or feta might too) and then rolling it like a log before baking.
Bright Tree sorry to hear the pond is leaking again, but at least you kind of expected it and are prepared.
Oopsie that stinks about not having your work stuff. A weekend untethered to work however is a marvelous thing.

they’ve decided to winter in the Palm Beach/West Palm Beach, Florida area this year and take daily massive dumps on a certain golf course in the area; might even use the owner as a target.
Oh, I really like this idea. I think I’ll get some ground sirloin out of the freezer and give this a try, although I just have cheddar and muenster. Hope those will work. Did you spread the meat out on wax paper or ???

The cottage we rented for our vacation had those blinds that don’t have a pull cord, you just grab the bottom and either lift or pull down. Daughter and her girlfriend were interested and I am intrigued. I could definitely use new window treatments. We have the same ones that were left by the former owner 46 years ago except for the room darkening curtains that we bought for the room that Hubs moved into when he had the stem cell transplant since he had to be isolated and he wanted no part of bright sun.
I think either cheddar or muenster would work! I think anything that would be good on a burger would be good in a meatloaf. So if someone really likes blue cheese that could be done too.
I spread it out on wax or parchment paper, probably 1/2 inch thick, and then just peel the paper back as I roll it. The effect ends up something like a Swiss roll.
As far as blinds, in the very brief perusal I did, the kind like you had in your rental seem pretty much standard anymore. I think the choking risks from the pull cord for children and pets have pretty much made most manufacturers do away with that style.

Howdy Y’all! Sun decided to make a visit for a couple of hours this mornin’, so we had some quality cee-mint pond. Showerage, nappage, and day drinkin’ followed. All in all a good day. OYKW said he does not want to deheathenate tomorrow, but I am servin’ both services. Therefore, he has to go get sustenance and have it at da cave when I arrive. I say this is fair.
Mollie I am sure Chloè is thinkin’, “OK, now where’s the main course?” I am pleased to learn she did indeed get a second pup cup later in the day. The band is phenomenal!

Once they built the Smyrna location, I had to be careful about swinging into Andy’s. It was far too close to my home for my own good.
I’ve done this with the addition of spinach leaves in the layers. 'Twas yum!
CVS is on the list. The bastiges texted me that the 'scrip that Doc wrote when I got out of the hospital was now authorized and ready for pick up. I got there and the drive thru window was closed. Frankly, I just didn’t have the spoons to go inside, even had Nelson not been with me. I called the store, spent some time cussing to myself over their insane AI phone service before opting for a call back. They told me that the drive thru would be open tomorrow.
I did manage to gas up the car while out, but have spent most of the day with the heat / massage on the recliner trying to get some muscles warmed up. I am going to play in the studio tonight for a bit.
My/Dad’s/Lipton’s recipe is this: 2 pounds ground beef, 1 pound ground pork (not in the Lipton’s recipe), one packet of Lipton’s Onion Soup Mix, ¾ cup bread crumbs, ⅓ cup catsup, ¾ cup water, and two eggs. I divide the mixture in half, and use loaf pans to make two loaves. Typically, I cook one, and I wrap the other one up tightly (out of the pan, which I like with plastic wrap before making the loaf) and freeze it. Last time I doubled the recipe and didn’t freeze one, so I froze four loaves. Cooked one today for eating during the week, and there are still three in the deep freezer.
We’ll find out! 
Mexican food was delicious… as were the two grande Cadillac margaritas each. The afternoon was somewhat marred by a guy in a Trump had coming in. I wished I had my 8647 hat. I wonder if he knew there were Mexicans working there?
Anyway, in the fridge we now have leftover pizza from last night (Mrs. L.A. said she was ‘too tired to eat’ after I’d placed the order, so there are five slices left), enough beef birria for a good-sized burrito, the chile colorado I made this morning (about a quart and a half), and the meatloaf. Then for irk-day breakfast, I have maybe three burritos’ worth of scrambled eggs and hot links. Hot dogs at the church picnic tomorrow.
I wound up having a Wegman’s order delivered at lunchtime via InstaCart. Only the second time I’ve done that since moving in, but now I don’t have to go to the grocery store tomorrow if I wind up still being in hermit mode. Whenever I get an order from there I also get a package of pizzelles, which I’m happily snacking on right now. 
I finished building the Seinfeld set (which can be seen here), and also finished reorganizing the display shelves and completed sets – including finally assembling a new set of shelves, which had been delivered a few weeks ago. Now I have room for three more shelves…bring on the new Lego! 
A set that I pre-ordered last month should be getting delivered on Monday or Tuesday, but if I’m not still in hermit mode tomorrow I might venture out to Bricks & Minifigs and see if I can trade a bunch of extra pieces for some store credit, then see if they have anything I want.
The other day I decided to start binge-re-watching Black Books: a British comedy from the early 2000s with Bill Bailey, Dylan Moran, and Tamsin Greig. It’s streaming on Plex, Tubi, Pluto, and the Roku Channel, but I bought the whole series – three seasons, six episodes each – on iTunes a few years ago. It’s one of my favorites to re-watch every now and then, and I’ve been happily entertained all day. ~7 hours of content isn’t much, though, and after this episode I’ll need to pick another show to binge-re-watch.
FCM pretty much nailed it. 
But I do have a set of makeup brushes that I bought after reading recommendations from other Lego fans[1]. I also recently tried an electric compressed air blower, but it didn’t really work because I don’t dust the sets nearly as often as I should and the dust gets too thick for air to be effective – at least, air that’s gentle enough to not blow pieces off some of the sets. So I stick with the makeup brushes, which work pretty well. When I use them.
It’s now been a couple of years since I sung on a stage, or with another musician. I’m hoping work will settle down by the end of the year – I need to get through two big events (one next month and one in early December) and backfill the employee who recently quit with two days’ notice – and then I might have the energy to go to jam sessions and musician friends’ gigs again, and start rebuilding my network.

The Wolfpack forgot how to handegg. I’m having a Vieux Carré and Asian BBQ stirfry. I shall have an early bedtime, as I stayed up to watch that debacle. Also, I ordered some new floor-mats for Carmen, since my gas foot has worn a hole in the OEM ones. I got the Weathertech ones, I got the shipping insurance, because I know WeatherTech packaging and Brown don’t mix well. 
He has mentioned sacking me, and replacing me with a Chuck-E-Cheese animatronic.

Did I mention that a member brought in some large zucchini on Friday? I took one, but then La Jefa said they all needed to go; so I took a second one. I think I’m going to attempt a zucchini boat next weekend. I’ve never made one, so I thought I’d cut one in half, scrape the seeds out, and fill it with cooked sweet Italian sausage and pizza sauce, top with cheese, and bake. I don’t know if I should use mozzarella, or parmesan.
Evening all. Just finished my big bowl O’Pasta with some carrots and pretzels as a chaser and way to much soda so I’ll be up several times tonight I am sure. But needed it, both games were 50 minutes of 8-9 year olds running up and down the fields and the heat didn’t seem to bother them (it bothered me quite a bit). Expect an early bedtime and, except for bladder alerts, a long night’s sleep.
Flyboy, hope the part gets there on-time, still waiting on a couple items I was promised on Friday (but via Fedex/USPS).
Bright Tree, of course you can’t keep up with us, you have an actual life… I know something about leaking things (my plumbing problems spanned years), hope Pond Guy can tame the problems. And I do have fun working with the kids, but sometimes my patience is tested…but then again, I imagine so are the parent’s, and I only get them for several hours a week.

It’s been weeks (more than a month?) since we watched it. I don’t remember the characters, but it was a very cute, fun movie. I’d watch it again.
Strangely, we don’t have any ouzo. I could have sworn we had some. Oh, well.
