(Old) Everybody's hiding under a rock in the MMP

Thank you for looking, they closed the I40 shortly before our decision point so we came down through Heber instead. It started snowing pretty hard at the summit, but the road stayed open and we are home now.

VBC will be going to the vet tomorrow, she is still wheezing and she has dried blood at the corners of her mouth. I’m worried that her extraction got infected and I need her to stop wheezing.

The car is unloaded and all of the random trash one accumulates when living out of a car for a couple of weeks has been gathered up and discarded.

GG wants to velcro himself to both of us but hubs and I won’t stay in the same room so he is constantly having to run back and forth between us. I think he missed us.

Church was wonderful as always.
He is risen.
My church friend invited me over, and her dad, her son’s dad, and her brother and his kids were there.
Ham, cheesy potatoes and corn.
She even gave me some to take home.
A lively debate on Joel Osteen was had.
Tomorrow, I will call the field manager to see wheres my check.
Tues I start my new job.
Its not to go above 48 this whole week.

He’s skating pretty close to the limit there.

Generally, IME, yes. Also some Evangelical Lutheran and some United Methodist Congregations.

Yabbut… With Lutherans I wouldn’t be able to not think about Davey and Goliath.

Are we having FUN yet???
Yes, everyone who is not a Duke alum and enjoys college basketball is overjoyed. Congrats to the Wolfpack! and Thank You!!!

Based on my daughter’s church, I concur.

Unfortunately the Other School just beat Michigan State for the right to go to the Frozen Four. Shucks.

The usual Sunday stuff. Naps, cocktails, laundry, Spot hornking on the newly vacuumed floor

WOLF!

Shucks.(the Hurricanes’ coach went to Michigan State)

Glad you made it home.

Festivus is non-denominational. Just saying.

A new MMP tomorrow!
I pity the fool.
See you guys next month.

I did like one line in the sermon. The pastor said, ‘Some of you are here because of drugs. Someone drug you down here.’

Gotta say the final eight in the hockey playoffs went wrong. Cornell beat UMaine. I haz sad, but Cornell is kinda my adopted next team, then they lost. Boogers.

Whew! I just got caught up here and when I saw your first post about I-40 being closed, I thought, JtC is stuck here in Albuquerqueand I missed the chance to have her over?? I’m glad you made it home safe and sound, and I bet the kitties are over the moon!

The Unitarians are your best bet. Everyone else has their knee-jerk reactionary contingent, but as I understand it, the UUs don’t even necessarily expect you to believe in God.

This kind of thing is what drove me away from (Methodist) church. It wasn’t even the pastor; it was a group of right-wingers who had a heavy presence in the church council. From pushing for our preschool to expand into elementary so that their grandkids wouldn’t have to go to gasp a heathen public school to writing and singing a song during worship that bashed, among others, the ACLU, they made the church environment so hostile and insular that I (and people like me) stopped wanting to be there.

Shortly after my FIL moved in with us, I set up a kind of secondary living room with a TV and loveseat upstairs in the guest room, just to have a place to sneak away to and watch the many shows I enjoy that was too lowbrow out had too much violence or profanity for his liking (basically, anything that wasn’t a PBS documentary).

My favorite time of any party is that moment when everyone’s just left and the dishwasher is going. I don’t know about you, but my house is still cleaner right then than it was before I started getting ready.

Hurray! I’ve got my fingers crossed that this one will be decent!

I’m sorry for your…er, their loss. My son-in-law’s parents are sad today. He and my daughter, who are both also MSU alums, never did care about sports or school spirit, so they’re unconcerned.

It was nice of you to prepare him a congenial place for it.

Younger Daughter is over two-thirds of the way to MI tonight, and she’s tucked up safely in her motel. It’s so kind of her to keep her neurotic parents calm with frequent updates! I keep thinking of all the trips Mr. L and I took in our youth. There were at least a couple of times when we didn’t even think to tell our parents we were going! Who’d have thought I would turn out to be more paranoid than my own mom?

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. Spot is sacked out on the couch.

To be fair, when we did road trips and dumb things, our parents only had a vague feeling of what was going on. These days parents can watch the livestream on their phone.

and that’s pretty much how he went out too

I survived the holiday and started another year’s descent into geezerdom… I remember when I was the youngest one here waaaay back when

survived easter cleanup didn’t take as long as we had it organized this year but I miss the days when all I had to do for a holiday was show up …
