The remainder of my birthday passed with an appropriate level of sloth. 
I learned from a friend on FB that there was going to be an Earth, Wind & Fire special on CBS at 8pm, but it didn’t start until 8:20 so I watched the end of 60 Minutes for the first time in a bajillion years. Andersoon Cooper did a segment on monarch butterflies, which was oddly fitting: when I was born we were living in Carmel, CA, and one day a monarch landed on my stroller…my mom (who died almost 10 years ago) associated them with me from then on. I’m not the “OMG my mom was visiting me on my birthday!” type, but it did feel kind of appropriate to stumble across a report about monarchs. 
(Related story: I’ve collected Swarovski crystal since I was in high school, and shortly after Mom died I saw that they had a figurine of an angel holding a butterfly. I’m also not the angel type, but I had to get it!)
September. But yeah, so did I! Belated happy birthday!
I have my moments. 
In fact, here comes another one…
I believe the word you’re both thinking of is “maize.”
