(Old) Falling Into The MMP

Yes, it is! I grew children and then harvested grandchildren. Wheee!

I napped. I had an Old Fashioned. Dinner tonight is bacon cheeseburger, fries with Bo Seasoning, and corn on the cob with jalapeno Blue Cheese butter.

I think she’s just naturally loud, disorganized, and twitchy. Drugs might help.

Only if you want fry oil on the walls, unboxed pizza on the floor under the prep tables, and generally yelling “WHAT IS ThIS?!?” at customer orders

Tomato is happy to see you.

I won’t need the heat before Halloween.

My friend C’s Pom Lulu happy pees. That’s why one year I took a vacation from moving heavy furniture to help them move heavy furniture so they could put in waterproof floors.

So you’re saying using the Elijah Craig 94 Proof brown milk in the cereal was a bad idea?

Yay!

When my one friend’s grandma died, I was at the service, and his brother(Baptist preacher) was part of the service, so I ended up minding bro’s 4 year old and 6 month old in the pew. At one point in the eulogy, the 4 old started hiccuping, and the 6 month old reach over, and. pulled. my. finger. It was all I could do to not burst out laughing.

:bottle_with_popping_cork: :birthday_cake: :partying_face:HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPOONS!!! :birthday_cake: :bottle_with_popping_cork:

Lorena Bobbitt could tell yah.

By my count, this is the 64th posting for Moanday on the MMP, which probably isn’t a record but is a promising start. Have done little since dining on Freddy’s steakburger and fries except trying to control my appetite for the balance of the evening (did kinda ok on that score, did get a little more ice cream but still under my calorie goal). Off to bed after this missive and see how much sleep my bladder grants me tonight.

Exactly, which I have also been known to perform at times.

Cupcakes, great news from the Doc. Still a little high according to google, but out of the dangerous range.

red, I try to put nothing breakable at all in my refrigerator, I know me too well.

swampy, for all I know there is an app to track um…bodily functions, but a pad of paper and a pen is the old fogey method I prefer.

VanGo, unfortunately, you have to take the patrons to get the good stuff.

Coppertone, your Spoonerism is appreciated.

JtC, that was a story that plastered a big smile across my face–thank you for that.

Flyboy, will be awaiting the news on the system transition.

Hippo Birdies Two Ewes , Spoons

BBBoo, hope the body starts cooperating with the PT, cause shots… Safe driving.

Indeed.

And it’s closing in on 11pm so I’ve been up about 16 hours without nappage and Slumberland is looking pretty good right now. Take care and catch y’all over my Big Bowl O’Cereal tomorrow.

Madame, this pie is occupued. May I sew you to a sheet?–The Reverend SPOONer

A hippo birdie two ewe, Spoons!

Hooray for a good A1c!

I have a book called The $64 Tomato.

A slightly belated “Happy birthday”, @Spoons!!

Not belated at all. It’s not even Tuesday where I am in the Mountain time zone. (It’s only 10:40 pm here.)

But holy hannah! It hasn’t started, but my day has already been made! All your greetings mean a lot, and I thank you for all of them. I thought I’d be lucky to get a call from my sister tomorrow, but greetings from all of you is almost better in a way. After all, I’d expect Sis to remember; I don’t expect anyone here to.

Special thanks go to @BippityBoppityBoo for getting the ball rolling. Thanks, Boo, for remembering. Come tomorrow, I’ll raise a glass (maybe two) of the good stuff to you!

I’m kind of touched, actually. Thanks again, everybody. Thanks many times over.

Happy birthday, @Spoons!! May this upcoming year be one of your best!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s currently 78 degrees Ferret Height(25.556 Centipedes).

Happy Spoons day!

It’s overcast and a bit chilly today, and I overslept a bit. I was lying in bed thinking about part of the analysis I’m s’posed to be doing, so I guess that counts as working if you squint at it a bit.

While I’d rather have a basement… Sadly not an option here.
The stove what needs sweeping is a wood stove with a chimney, so the chimney needs sweeping. I don’t use it much but it’s soooo nice to have on miserable winter evenings in January when it’s dark before 4pm.

:birthday_cake:  Happy birthday, @Spoons  :birthday_cake:

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 15c/59f with a predicted high of 20c/68f and mostly sunny. Weather app says “People fucking grip when it’s hot. They fucking gripe when it’s cold. What-the-fuck-ever.”

shoe 'im indoors was technically still on his own property, so although he was outside the house, he wasn’t out amongst the Great Unwashed

Nut love the tomato! All you need now is a village veg show and a “wonky” category to put it in!

Bright Tree there’s an awful lot of home maintenance to go. The chaos outside is just the beginning. I had planned to get all the greenery cleared away and have the outside space partly paved and partly grass/flower beds. There is just about enough space for a small shed which will free up some space in the house itself. Then we can start on all the interior work that needs to be done, but the big problem is that we don’t have enough room to move things around to empty one room sufficiently for anything to be done in it.

I had a fairly slothful end to the day yesterday. Today I’m back at irk but since yesterday was a bank holiday, I am at home for two days and on campus for only two days this week. That means Monday’s grocery shopping gets done today and I am also doing two classes at the gym later. I’ll probably spend the rest of the week being confused about what day it is!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 94 and sunny. A very Summery start to meterological Fall. The big item on today’s agenda is laundry. I can hardly contain myself. Outside of that it will be the usual RDOS sloth, although I might take care of a couple of errands this mornin’. I shall (thoughtfully) reheat the lasagna for sup with a sallit and cheesey garlic bread to accompany.

Spoons happy belated birthday! Hope it was a good one! :birthday_cake:  :champagne: :balloon: :wrapped_gift: :star: I have now seen your post and know that today is, indeed, your bday. Thus…

And now this…

< AHEM > CLEARIN’ THROAT < AHEM >

HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!
HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!
HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY DEEEAAARRR SSSPPPOOONNNSSS!!!
HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!

{{{BBBoo}}} so sorry you are havin’ such a tough time with PT. Hope you do see improvement soonest. Would the steroid shots be sump’n you prefer?

Nuts that ‘mater is ummm… innerestin’. I say thinkin’ about irk qualifies as irk.

VanGo sorry about the filthy patrons.

Coppertone I got it. You get a :star:.

FlyBoy hope the new system is not a total SNAFU.

BooFae on the bright side, only two days at the physical irk place this week, so win-win!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward to the laundry! Rah,

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Off to eye dr to see why my bifocals arent meshing.
Early appointment so feel sleep deprived.

:spoon::spoon::spoon::birthday_cake:

Today starts with 68 Ferrets, on the way to low 90s. I’ll go to the boat alone to put a second coat of cetol on the forward window frames. No need for both of us to be there for a 15 minute job. Then I’ll swing thru Aldi on the way home since FCD is down to the last 'nanner.

No other plans so far. The dishwasher needs to be emptied, then run thru a cleaning cycle - I try to do that every other month. Then, dunno. I’m sure some chore will rear its demanding head.

I should have a look at our assorted bank accounts. The balance of our cruise needs to be paid this month, so I need to move some money around. And once that’s paid, I can finish planning and reservations of our couple of fancy-pants meals. I had heard that there’s likely to be some restrictions on ships thru the canal because of diminished rainfall, but so far, it doesn’t seem to be affecting cruise ships. But if we can’t go thru the canal, there’s no sense in going - we’re not interested in a cruise along the west coast. So we shall see.

Daughter and SIL now have a newer washer and so far, it works. Since it’s a front-loader, she wants it raised up, so I’m going to have a look on Marketplace to see about getting her a pair of base drawers for the washer and dryer.

I saw the obit for our old neighbor - visitation will be Sep 13, with the funeral on the 14th. I’m thinking about going to the visitation. Not sure, tho. Selfishly, it’s because my mom has some stuff for me and I don’t know when I can get it. This would be an opportunity. So, thinking.

Speaking of…

Yeah, what he said…

On our Arctic cruise last summer, we experienced looooooong daylight hours. I can’t even imagine the opposite! Tho I’d love to take advantage of them and see the Northern Lights. Maybe one day…

A bit more reading before I shower and dress and head to Solomons. I want to get it done before it gets stoopit hot.

Happy Tuesday!!

Good morning. My legs woke me at 5:15 am. I got up, got dressed, started the coffee, and took morning meds. Ah, coffee! The elixir of life!

Here in Elkhart, we’ll have a heat advisory today from 2:00 pm to 8:00. A high of 91 sweaty little ferrets, with a heat index of over 100. Summer is not trudging to the exits just yet.

Cookie has put thyme in a bottle, in remembrance of Jim Croce.

Last night I learned that our president has brought us a new mnemonic. We had, for many years, a way to remember the names of the Great Lakes. HOMES was Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, and Superior. Mr. Trump has renamed Lake Ontario as Lake America. So, the new mnemonic is SHAME.

A sage remark, if ever I heard one.

Dr said until I get the other cataract done, there will be a disconnect for reading. Something about the size. Wearing a lens in the left eye fixes that but I prefer glasses.
The driver actually bought me a dunkin coffee on the way there! God blesses me.

Good morning.

It’s dark, mostly cloudy, and 56F. It’ll remain mostly cloudy throughout the day, and our daytime high will be only around 71°F.

Happy Birthday, Spoons!

Baker, yay for good news from the doctor!

Nuts, loved the 'mater!

FCM, condolences on the loss of your old neighbor.

BBBoo, I hope the pain recedes STAT.

JtC, loved the story about the pee shoes! Polar was sometimes an excited pee-er. Every time my son came home from college, he’d roll over on his back and pee. Then stand up and spend a solid 30 minutes trying to cuddle with my son.

Flyboy, I hope working with the new system will go smoothly.

Today is grocery shopping day. I’m nearly out of coffee, the dogs are out of ice cream, and there is no meat in the freezer.

Beyond that, I don’t have any plans besides the usual.

Please take care of yourselves.

i call it “the wee-wee of delight”.

happy birthday, spoon.

instead of a condo meeting tonight, i am having dinner with out of town friends. as usual, i make plans for one day, and suddenly everything wants to happen that day. weird phenomenon. (wait for the ear worm to form)

Good morning and Happy Birthday, Spoons! It was 71ºF with dew point of 75º, positively desert like! Chloé and I had a good walk, but we only saw two buns and no armadillos.

No! I refuse to look at you, and you can’t make me!

The Endo put in the prescription for Spironolactone last night, and it’s already shipped, meanwhile the Estradiol is still “being processed.” I don’t think I’ve ever been so eager/anxious for a medication before, especially since I have to wait another week before I can start it.

In other news, on this day, twenty-five years ago, the skies realized whom they were dealing with and stopped dropping water on the Raleigh Rose Garden for a couple of hours[1]. Just long enough for these two kids to get married. Every day, I’m more thankful than the previous day for her agreeing to share her life with me. It’s been rocky sometimes, and (with recent developments) it’s bound to be rocky, but I think we’re in it for the long haul.

BBBoo - Who nurses the Night Nurse?

Nut - If you’re thinking about work, it counts as working in my book.

FCM - I’ll run the dishwasher self-cleaning cycle whenever it gets empty, and there is nothing to immediately load into it. It doesn’t get run very much during summer when we have a house full of hungry young men.

Adds Knots to The List.

This is going to rub me the wrong way.

Coppertone - Have you tried to pop out the glasses lens for your fixed eye? That’s what my father did.

Have a good day, everyone!

  1. My father has said that he assured Mrs Magill that it wouldn’t rain on that day, and she was holding him to that ↩︎
