(Old) Falling Into The MMP

No, the cataract removal eye shows a larger vision than the other. Most people get both eyes done, I am putting it off. Nothing can fix the disparity.

Morning all. Bladder decided to behave and I slept in until 7am. Been doing the start of the month financial figuring, checking my accounts and doing some comparisons to see how I’m doing (fairly well). Got some soccer stats to enter, AYSO rules are that every player plays at least 1/2 the game and no one plays a full game until everyone has played 3/4, so I try to keep track of that by game so I can even it out during the season. After that much excitement I’ll take it easy until gym time, which will be a short session as I also coach at 5:30pm. Big bowl of Cereal is in my belly so appetite has been assuaged. It’s 87F already heading to 95F and Fall is looking ever more distant.

Nor here in N. Ali-bama; 99% of the houses are either on slabs or have crawl spaces.

boo fae, know what you mean, one day off the regular schedule and things get confusing for me.

Happy laundry day, Swampy. Just sorted through mine and looks like I’ll make it through the week, but early next week will be clothes washing time.

Coppertone, hope the eye doc can help (and I see that it is a ‘wait’ situation, best wishes for you (and you got coffee!). I just looked up the Podiatry clinic and it’s about 2.5 miles from me and take Medicare and Blue Cross, so may get dressed nicely and head over there–may we both get satisfaction.

FCM, had the same issue when I did the Panama Canal two years ago (low water) but it limits the volume of ships per day and cruise liners usually get the benefit of the doubt. If you’re up early you should see a bunch of ships anchored off the coast awaiting their turn. And that’s actually not a bad idea for buttering corn evenly…

Knots, that change in terms has been discussed extensively over in the…rowdier parts of the Straight Dope board. I will continue to honor the old Indian name for it.

Happy Anniversary, Mollie!!!

And onward into the day. Have a good 2sDay all.

Mostly you guys. And my cat.

Morale support and sustaining social connections and all that. Really, gives me the spirit to “carry on”.

Why put it off and struggle with vision if getting it done can fix the disparity?

Today and tomorrow are heat warning days. The temp could feel over 100. This makes me very crabby. I am supposed to have a lesson today but I will reschedule. I will bring in Ariel and her BFF around noonish so they can be in front of their fans.

Today is my deceased brother’s 75the birthday. I don’t miss him. He was a mean drunk and would get into my face and scream “Fuck you.” But it’s weird to think he would be 75. Which means I am older too. That’s the part that bothers me the most!

Happy anniversary mollie and Mrs magill!

Blurf! Another bad sleep night. I’m hoping to get a little nap in before leaving for the doctor.

Y’all have a great day!

The dryness, the never being able to rub your eye out of fear of dislodging it.

At least she doesn’t think the exit end of her digestive tract needs to be admired. I’ve been dealing with cats for most of my 57 years, and still do not understand why they insist on presenting the exit port to the humans.

Yesterday it was imperative that the second coat of cetol be done today. This morning it wasn’t so I didn’t. Sometimes FCD makes me crazy.

The dishwasher has been emptied and I ran its cleaning cycle. I was nice and swept/vacuumed much of the shop floor. I didn’t get under all the machines and work benches, but I got up the worst of the mess on the floor. I count that as a win. Now I’m going to sort my t-shirts and weed out the 2XLs and possibly the XLs - they’re just too baggy now. When I see what I have left, I may buy some. Or not. We shall see.

When I was looking at our canal cruise info, I discovered that taking a cab from the ship in Fort Lauderdale to the Miami airport could cost as much as $75 (possibly more, depending on fuel costs in Feb) plus tip. Taking the bus from the ship to the airport will be $30 each. So that’s booked. I set a reminder on Outlook to pay the balance before the end of the month. Then I’ll go over all the documents and such to be sure we’re ready. My main concern is the train - worst case, we cancel it and fly to San Diego.

OK, time to sort some shirts…

Came home for lunch and realized the frozen meal I had planned on eating has already been et. So I’ll catch up here and then grab fast food to take back to the office.

Happy belated birthday @Spoons!

BBBoo I hope you’re feeling better soon. Are you wanting the steroid injections or hoping to avoid them?

Happy anniversary Mollie and Mrs Magill! I hope you have something special planned to celebrate.

Metal Mouse That sounds like a lot to keep track of with the playing schedule!

Flyboy I hope your day isn’t a total sh%t show with the new system.

That is no joke. I’ve never met a cat that thinks putting it’s butt in your face is a bad idea.

And that’s the end of my break… time to head back to irk.

Well, I have an appointment with the podiatrist-on October 7th. Lots of bad feet I guess. I’m at the gym now doing some limited workouts leaving me enough time to get ready for soccer practice.

And back to the treadmill.

Same reason they present it to other cats, silly. You’re supposed to sniff it.

So the plan was for me to cover the 100 and 200 Slides for Senior Clerk’s vacation. I started there at 0430. And 515, the Preload manager changed his mind, and sent me to Unload to do the retapes and reboxes, and put Methed Up Squirrel Girl on the 100 and 200. Of course, I was retaping for maybe 30min, when I got sent to the Irreg Belt, since Dee the clerk wasn’t in. After 30min of that, I was back to the retaping, scrambling to get done what I could. I had to go help clerk the 300 Slide at 0700, so I never got the retapes in the Sort Aisle done.So the got sent to Meth Up Squirrel Girl, who doesn’t do damages, overgoods, or retapes. So when I got done with the stuff that was going out, MSG left me and J with this:

(Not shown: 2 more carts worth of stuff). Needless to say I got out at 1:45P.M.
Only 4 more days of this.

It was 97 ferrets today. That’s more like Fall in the Australian Outback.(Minus the venomous animal, and poisonous plants and rocks).

At least you have an answer. And yay, coffee!

“Mom! This thing is killing my street cred with German Shepards!”

:bottle_with_popping_cork: :shortcake: :partying_face:HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOLLIE AND MRS. MAGILL!!! :shortcake: :bottle_with_popping_cork:

Could be worse. More people on Zoom know the late Alex J. Catt’s butt than my face.

We’re going to Buca di Beppo with Squeaky tonight, and to Chateau West this weekend.

Just spent a very frustrating hour trying to set up an online account with the SSA for my wife. Epic fail. They’ve made things very complicated, including wanting you to take a selfie and a picture of your DL or passport and to upload them. Not happening. So she’s going to have to call them to try to get things straightened out. Now I have a headache.

Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, and Hugs as appropriate!

You an’ me both!

Wifey, RN’s morning patients cancelled, so she didn’t have one until 13:30. She just came home to put some towels in the dryer, and now she’s off to see her final patient of the day.

After I charged the battery in the R1 a couple of weeks ago, I started it twice more. Today, the day I needed it to start, it didn’t. It cranked just fine, but it wouldn’t catch. I plugged the small charger into the ‘box clip’ connector (What are those called?) I installed, and started the bike a bit later. I moved it out of the way, jacked up the left side of the MG, and took off the front wheel. I thought I had a wooden ‘knock-off hub wrench’. If I do, I don’t know where it is. I had to knock the hub off with the rawhide side of the tire hammer. Without the weight of the car on it, it looked like I could inflate the tire myself instead of taking it to a shop. And I did, using my Aqualung. I pulled the tank over to the right-rear tire, as I’d noted it was low a couple of week ago, and found it as flat as the front-left one was. After I re-installed the front tire, topped off the front-right and left-rear tires, I cranked up the right side. I didn’t bother to take the rear wheel off. I was able to fill it in situ. The spare had maybe 10 pounds of air in it, so I filled it too.

I took the unusable hose to the UPS Store in Bellingham and sent it off. I was going to take a couple of watches into a jeweller in the mall to see if he could fix them, only to find that they’re closed on Tuesdays (which I actually did know). SWMBO sent me up to the hardware store to have three 5-gallon propane tanks filled. I’ll put one of them in her heater (which she’ll probably use, even though it’s in the bid-50s in the mornings).

I sliced the meatloaf I made the other day, into eight slices. We’ll warm some up for dinner, and have some green beans with it.

Tomorrow I have to get to the Credit Union at 08:15 (half an hour early). Wish us luck.

Howdy Y’all! Laundry got done and put where it stays until it gets dirty again. OYKW had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ to go to the hog trough GC, so we went there for lunch. We will reheat the lasagna tomorrow. Needless to say nappage followed the pigout. Now he’s engrossed in one of his crime shows and ima go see whatup on teh intartoobz.

Coppertone hope the eye doc can figure out what’s goin’ on. I see the problem is still goin’ on. How nice of the driver!

MOOOOOOM glad daughter has a new washer. Also, no shame in doin’ both things when you go to the visitation. That looks like a stoopid way to butter corn. I mean, how hard can that be? I don’t eat corn on the cob because I don’t like to gnaw on corn cobs. I am all civilized and suave cause I will cut it off the cob.

I did not cumin here to see such awful puns!

Taters the doggy ice cream and coffee situation must be remedied post haste!

rocker enjoy dinner with your friends!

Mollie Happy Anniversary to Mrs. Magill and you! Chloè was definitely not ready for her closeup! The ‘scripts are makin’ things look real. Just remember, we are always here for ya.

52 don’t you just hate it when you know you have sump’n to eat and then discover it’s not there!

MetalMouse podiatrist appointments always seem to take a while to get. OYKW had one yestiddy he scheduled almost seven weeks ago.

I got to napping at 4. At 7, Roomie called me, nail in the right rear tire of Dora the Explorer. So I had to fix that. So I came home, had a Manhattan, and Redneck Stirfry. I’ll be napping shortly, as I have to be at work at 0315.

And how.

< peppers swampy with more spice puns >

I did the doctor visit today. I did ask the pharmacist about the new med that I picked up this weekend. I was feeling more energetic before beginning it, but now am back to feeling a lot of nausea and back to no energy. Apparently, it replaces the one IV antibiotic they took me off, but is kinder to the kidneys. Oy! Eleven more days of this crap. Sorry for the whine.

I did manage a simple card this evening though.

Dave’s Killer Bread

Happy Birthday Spoons! :birthday_cake:

any chance they counsel her out aka fire her arse?

red love the flower themed cards! :cherry_blossom:

Another busy day. Up early to take care of the animals. Then went to work to record the 31st’s transactions. Received a text from Hubs stating that his followup appointment with his eye Dr was cancelled because she had to do an emergency surgery.

Then went to the parish office to pick up the St Vincent de Paul binder for visits with Neighbors in Need. Came home and made copies of a lot of it for both myself and my teammate. Also retyped some of it that had lot of cross-outs. Got out my materials from the Workshop I attended on in-home visits with Neighbors in Need and studied them. Reason: we had an in-home visit with a gentleman currently living in a long-term motel situation.

Finally made the meatloaf but instead of rolling it, I put a layer of meatloaf on the bottom of the loaf pan then a layer of cheddar cheese then another layer of meatloaf then a layer of muenster then a last layer of meatloaf; baked for 40 minutes then put a layer of a mixture of worchestershire sauce and ketchup on top and back in oven for another 8 minutes. Made mashed taters with plenty of butter, and microwaved some fresh broccoli. For dessert had some of the crepes from the Hungarian restaurant; one was raspberry and the other peach. They were both yum!
