Sticky_Buns great news about Annie!

I’ve been outbid! On patterns and kits that I don’t need but suddenly really want! OUTRAGE!!!

One of my favorite designers has donated two kits that were designed to be companion pieces. While I’m willing to give up the patterns I’m also willing to pay serous money for the kits. I made my first bids on everything and other people came along and bid a dollar more.

I’m willing to give up the patterns, I’ll wait until close to the end of the auction and look at them again, but I want the kits.

I bid 20 on each kit and two different people bid a dollar more. I am not in the mood to mess around with dollar bids, so I just raised my bids to 75 each. The patterns are still being bid on at a dollar a bid. Nobody has touched the kits since which is very smart cause I’m willing to do two more fifty dollar stomps each kit if needed.

You have such a sense of humor! I’m not a warrior, I’m a whiny bitch who won’t stop complaining about it. Plus I’m spending way too much money on things that I don’t need.

Today I did spend an hour writing nice letters to the R’s in WV’s House for voting down vaccination exemptions for school kids. I always figure that if I’m willing to complain about something, I should also be willing to compliment when possible. They did a good thing that was probably also a hard thing and deserve some positive strokes.

You also reminded me that I should probably go by the rec center soon and let them know I’m still alive. I guess I’m a regular there and folks schedule pool watch around my schedule. No swimming for at least a month which really isn’t good for me cause I’ll just sub drinking or shopping for needlepoint kits that I can’t stitch because I’m too stoopid to watch where I’m going.

I’m fairly sure that you are all good, but of course I’m not a doctor. I got my MMR because I wasn’t sure about Rubella and didn’t want to risk spreading it to the wrong people. I wasn’t worried about measles, it just took the outbreaks to make me think about it. So now it is done and I don’t have to think about it again.

Have a great game, I hope someone manages to kick the ball at least once!

Nope. That’s nearly everyone’s mom.

Go Mom! Go nieces!

Seriously, last night I got to be supportive while GF vented about her Mom dishing dirt on her nieces and their spouses. And kids.

My Mom’s been dead ~20 years and hers is still going strong, albeit a bit confused. Go Moms!!

I made it through a day of work. Woohoo!

Came home to a bug. Apparently a locust borer, or possibly a hickory borer. Some kind of big beetle. Harmless, and not a sign of infestation, but I had to catch it and get it outside because big bug in the house=no bueno. Also apparently toxic to cats.

Now resting. Our youngest nephew has an orchestra concert tonight. I want to be supportive, but I still need to heal up a little, and I’m not sure I’m in the mental space to deal with elementary school strings right now. My wife will represent the household.

Oops. Turns out it’s his choir concert. Which is much more tolerable. And right in my wheelhouse. Now I feel bad.

Still too tired to go.

Indeed

Up from naptime. Having a Royal Hawaiian, Italian chicken, cheesy potatoes and spinach. Spot has had his post nap ice cubes.

So should we change your Mumper nickname to “Patient Zero”?

An iPad in a good quality keyboard case is pretty ideal. I had a Logitech one I loved until the 7 yo iPad gave up the ghost after being my cognitive wheelchair for years. A small folding Bluetooth keyboard took up the slack admirably with the next iPad.

We’re watching an episode of Doc Martin, and the titular character is the father of a baby. It reminds me that I think I have pedophobia. Babies and children scare the willies out of me. (Well, they make me uncomfortable.)

Babies and largely pregnant women scare me to death. You never know what they will do next and it seems that crying and puking are the top choices. Pooping pants also happens far too often for me to be comfortable with as well.

I forgot to mention that we have firm dates for the insulation guys. I found some nice looking B&B’s but they all have doors that open to the great outside and hubs wanted to pay more for an elevator between our fuzzbutts and door.

Rooms have been booked and paid for. One of us will go to the desk and get our room key on the 10th and leave litterbox, litter, bowls and stuff, but we won’t stay. We just need to be able to roll up in the morning and have keys to our room around 0800.

We are booked until the 13th but are hoping that they will do all of the spraying and stuff early so we can come home early.

We will be at the Holiday Inn next to the dispensary and the Japanese steakhouse that Hubs likes. I’ll be sure to bring the fuzzbutts a couple of their beds, we all need our comfort items..

Oh, frick. My sister got scammed out of $3,000. My nephew called and said he was concerned because she was trying to get on Venmo, and it had taken her almost 12 hours, and he knows it should take 5 minutes. So I called her. She was calmly sure she really had VenMo, but when I asked what took so long, she said for one thing, she had to go out several times to get Apple gift cards. F#*%! Scammed.

The clerks at Walmart tried to warn her, but she was still certain it was legit. I had to give her the bad news. She called Apple Support, but of course there’s no way to get the money back. Goddam scammers.

She doesn’t do technology well, so she called a number she found online, and of course, it wasn’t really VenMo. This is the second time she’s been scammed by calling a number she found online. I told her whenever she wanted to book a flight, get an app, or anything she wasn’t comfortable doing online, DON’T CALL A NUMBER YOU GET ONLINE! Call me or her daughter instead. We can do it for her or walk her through it. I’ve done it with/for her before.

I’m kicking myself for not warning her already about anyone asking for Apple gift cards. I’m still trying to figure out how he got her to go to WalMart 5 times for gift cards. She’s always been a trusting, gullible soul, so I should have warned her.

Oh, you’re a warrior, all right. In fact, as we all know, you’re a superhero, and all superheroes have their powers. Yours is wielding a mean cane. The whiny bitch part–though I can’t imagine you’re either one–is just your cover.

Besides, if you hold them you may drop them. And if they like you, they may touch you and hug you an’ shite. *shiver*

And then they droll on you and make a gummy smile and everyone thinks that you to are now bonded and the best buddies ever and that you will be the best aunt/uncle ever.

Yeah, no, I moved out of the state the second time that happened.

I like them for different purposes. The PC is what I use most in the studio (software for some of my equipment and a sketch pad, plus it’s where I spend most of my non-bed time at home), the laptop is ancient, so only a few games on it, my tablet travels with me and took the place of a bedroom TV. The phone is for stuff on the go and if we’re the only ones on the small dog side of the dog park (I surf FB and Pinterest there).

OK, I got my giggle on.

Yay!

Not to be confused with the Batman building. :stuck_out_tongue:

Y’all have been chatty today!

Irked, dogparked, bought Betty White postage stamps, et and messed around in the studio.

Stay safe and healty y’all!

I was trying to find a part on McMaster Carr on my phone, and the tiny pictures weren’t helping. Had to move to a real computer. In general, I prefer the big screen.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s 49 degrees Ferret Height right now(9.4 Centipedes), with a predicted high of 79 degrees Ferret Height(26.1 Centipedes).

Sounds like some of my drinking buddies.

“Cats are better than babies, because when you are done holding them you can just drop them.”

Spot just pulled out Volume 1 of my Ren And Stimpy VHS tape collection. I guess he wants to sing the Log jingle.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 9c/48f with a predicted high of 10c/51f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “It’s a good fucking day to go muddin’.” OK, if you insist…

I understand that - even though we have two 3yr old cats in the house, there’s still that missing bit where Shadow used to be. The catsitter said the same, she used to feed everyone then sit downstairs with Shadow while he munched through his food and the girlies were running around the house chasing each other. Zoe is probably wondering where her sister is, a bit of extra fuss and I am sure she will be fine.

I don’t have a tablet so it’s either phone or laptop/PC for me. I am ok with FB and Insta on my phone but the Dope is definitely a laptop/PC thing.

She looks so comfortable in that chair, GG needs a sofa instead

I hope this is the last time you have to say that, and they really have fixed it this time.

flyboy I feel the same about babies and small children, I am probably the least maternal person I know as I’ve never ever wanted kids and am selfishly happy that I don’t have any!

Yesterday was far less eventful than the day before, meeting minutes got finished and sent off, other odd jobs got done. The big skip fire has been put out, and today we just have some smouldering embers to deal with. The Travel Gods were kind to me, I got home in good time and did what I needed to do before going to fetch 'im indoors from the station. Had a similarly good trip into irk this morning, and I am meeting a friend for lunch. She’s been off work for 6 months after suffering a stroke and is back on a long phased return. Today’s her first Friday on campus and we are celebrating with lunch.

'im indoors sounded quite positive about the new accommodation he’d been to look at - it’s a room in a shared house so nothing major, it seemed suitable and he was waiting to sort out the details with the landlord who (I think) also lives in the house. Then it got strange. The landlord asked for a deposit and a month’s rent up front before moving-in day. 'im indoors was prepared to pay a deposit to secure the rental, but would only pay the month’s rent on the day he moved in and got a key. Then the guy asked for two work references, and a copy of his passport! That raised Big Red Flags - for a start, the passport is well on the way towards identity theft, it’s not necessary, and having a copy of it in the hands of a stranger is a big data protection flag bearing in mind this is a private domestic rental, not being done through a letting agent so there’s no reason for him to ask for that.

Naturally, 'im indoors turned that down and will be looking at airbnb type places instead.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 81 and cloudy in the mornin’, but N.O.S. in the afternoon. We will be bears who brunch at Newk’s. The rest of the day shall be devoted to RDOS inactivities as we were productive yestiddy.

Now I need more caffeine and to purtify. One must be presentable for brunch after all!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Tobias is, for all intent and purposes, out of training pants, but he’ll still announce when he’s going to poop. He’ll come up from the basement (there is a toilet down there) to tell up he has to poop, then he’ll run into the hall toilet. Because kids are inscrutable. But, yeah, those poopy diaper days weren’t a lot of fun, tho they didn’t last forever. And cuddling a little is the best!

I woke about an hour before my alarm, then showered and dressed, and I’m just finishing with breakfast. Next on the agenda is packing a lunch then waiting for Daughter and the spawn. It’s about a 2 hour drive to the zoo, partly thru the city, but it’ll be well past rush hour when we get there. I want to leave by 3 to avoid the afternoon rush, but we’ll do what we must.

Last night, Daughter told Tobias where we’d be going today, and he wanted to go right then. She had to tell him it was bedtime for the animals. Quick thinking on her part. I tidied the car yesterday and put a new bag in the trash can. The tank is fueled, so I think we’re good to go. Weather is supposed to be really nice.

There may or may not be photos on FB thru the day - I guess we’ll see.

Happy Firday!
