(Old) Halfway through the month - Midway in the MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 36 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 57 and cloudy. Practically a tropical heat wave compared to the weather some of y’all are havin’. We shall procure provisions this mornin’ and be RDOS this afternoon. Tonight is gatherin’ over to the church house so we shall sup there.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and bother, I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Woe!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 9c/49f with no predicted change, and partly cloudy. Weather app says “Is it partly cloudy or partly fucking sunny? I don’t fucking know. Who gives a shit?” Nobody, it would seem. And it’s sunny out there.

I am sorry, he sounds like he was a nice guy and she is probably more upset than she’s letting on.

Always a bonus! I try to buy earlybird tickets for just about everything, if I can. And it’s always a plus if you don’t have to fly either.

That looks like a fabulous cruise, plenty of beautiful places to see on the route. I’ve answered some questions, but I’m sure I’ll think of more things to add.

Hurrah! I’m glad they visited, and that you are in a better headspace than you were before.

I can’t imagine living as long as she did, and she sounds like a wonderful lady. I hope she gets a good turnout and everyone wears their best outfits in her honour.

Busy, busy, busy over here! I logged off work yesterday and made campus food, then I had a bit of sofa time with Shadow, then made dinner from scratch. Scoffed it, washed up and then settled back on the sofa with a cuppa (and Shadow) for the evening.

Up early today for the campus trek, I had a team meeting first thing, then we had another meeting to go to, I’ve got a union meeting in 10 minutes, and then I’m doing a training session with a newbie who wants to know all about our exams and assessment stuff. Somewhere in there, I need to sort some stuff out for my minion who’s off sick.

Better get on!

We’ll have an early morning hike on a local park trail and I’ll try out my new fleece quarter-zip pullover, which was on sale because they’re dumping winter wear already. I’ll need it because it’s 36 degrees out there. Then breakfast at home and off to an Apple store at a mall because my husband’s phone won’t give him notifications when we receive an email on our home gmail. My phone does, and as far as we can tell, his is configured the same way, but it’s not working. Maybe a genius can straighten it all out.

Then, because this mall has a 99 Ranch Market, we’ll have cheap dim sum for lunch.

Lady upstairs took a shower. My ceiling in the bathroom by the shower is dripping.

Good morning all. Up early and it’s a little warmer today, 28F at 7:30am heading to 36F but clear skies and no rain to be seen. Have my car going into the shop for routine maintenance this afternoon, so need to schedule things around that. Outside of that and getting the garbage bin out this evening nothing much is on the agenda.

Sticky Buns, yay on class being good and boo on traffic being bad. Oh, and you made one little error…

My dear, it’s always the little things.

boo fae, sounds like a full day, but between meetings and training and sorting, y’all going to have time to do your work?

lucky, have a good hike and hope the phone can be made to behave.

Coppertone, oh no, presume you have reported it.

And time for the morning apple and internettin’ Have a good Hump Day all.

I guess we’ve entered the swing era of winter. Dramatic temperature swings are the rule of the day lately. We’re back down to single digits, which will magically become low 30s in a couple of days and then drop back into the cellar by next Sunday. Nice and sunny, anyhow.

Speaking of Sunday, youngest son and his daughters and girlfriend are coming over for lunch. I haven’t seen my granddaughters in quite awhile, so this will be a treat. I just love their energy and freshness. He seems very happy in his relationship, which is nice after his nasty divorce. She’s a keeper, from what I can tell.

Sadie’s been hit or miss with her food lately. She doesn’t seem ill, so maybe she needs more variety. I’ll try something besides the chicken.

On with the day!

Awwwww, look at me - being a good example and all. Which reminds me - I need to get Jessica over here soon to pick up the last batch.

FWIW, I have this big one, and it’s been a lifesaver. I rarely have to bother FCD these days.

I have tons of glass bakeware that I forget I have. I can’t even pass them on to my daughter because when I bought my set, I bought her the same! I should cull for the thrift store.

This one will be my longest by 2 days!

We’re just back from dropping off FCD’s vehicle. They might get to look at it today, but his appointment was for tomorrow, so no biggie there. We’ve still got my car and the truck to get us around.

My big plan for today is gathering the household trash, plus changing out the bag in the recycling can. So a trashy day ahead! I was going to clean the dining room carpet - I still might, but maybe not. It’s not a big job since the room is just 10X12 and all the furniture is easy to move. We’ll see how motivated I am after doing the trash chore.

And I need to do some more research for our cruise and book the transfer from airport to ship, then from ship to airport. And there are excursions to look at. FCD is leaving it all up to me. So we shall see what we do.

OK, on to finish my morning surfage before getting productive. Happy Wednesday!

Hubs likes their boxers

sticky that was so wonderful of that young guy to help you to your car. and I bet the scenery of fresh snow was also spirit lifting. happy for you.

I’d be wearing shorts or perhaps capri pants. Weather ap says it’s 15* with a wind chill of 10*.

Need to get the cold water laundry started, then dishes to wash. Need to take my car to tire shop to get a slow leak fixed.

Definitely let maintenance know ASAP. According to the staff here, water intrusion like that needs to be addressed immediately or sooner to limit the damage.

I did.

Thank you!

I really like this phrasing.

Chicken stock/broth is simmering. I turned the heat off, so the pot’s steam is impressive looking (and fragrant!) Monkey is snuggling, and the house is cool & quiet.

the dead sea! i can rave rapturous for hours about floating in the dead sea. it was soo amazing. i felt like i was in recliner. i remember looking over at my mother and asking her, " is this how it feels when you float? this is amazing!".

oh dear, good luck with your leak suntanlotion. and the new job!

weatherwise it will warm up just in time to rain instead of snow. kinda bummed by that.

last night i had a spot of trouble opening my pom beverage. i have one of those rubber gripper things. that worked.

one time i knocked on 3 doors trying to open talenti ice cream. i know to use a knife under the lid. crazy! the jars are soooo very useful.

my new microwave arrived. 2 days off the original date. i will set it up tonight. wild times at Stolens Hus.

I’ve just had two breakfast burritos made with ¼ pound of chorizo, one jumbo egg (beaten with heavy cream, salt, and pepper), and medium cheddar cheese, on two zero-net carb tortillas. Remembering the last time, I put what I estimated was an exuberant amount of cayenne pepper on the sausage as I cooked it. It did have a little heat, but it could have been hotter.

On Monday, in a fit of nostalgia, I ordered a transistor radio. It arrived yesterday. I did try out the AM, FM, and NOAA Weather bands. Pretty nifty. Pretty useless, considering I can get weather conditions on my computer or iPhone; but nifty nonetheless.

Having a bagel with egg and cheddar, plus a fairly sour coffee, to celebrate morning fasting labs. Google sent me all the hell around town and to the wrong parking garage, but I have mad gettin there early skillz.

Yesterday we went out earlyish for a lovely birdwatching walk/drive followed by seeing an acquaintance/possible new friend for lunch, then another bird walk along an estuary. We saw a short-eared owl (our goal), pintails, teals, widgeons, ravens, harriers, great blue herons, thousands of swans, and a huge number of bald eagles–we stopped counting at 45, but there were more than that!

So they were “overstaffed”, so the sent the Blueberries home, but were pulling loaders to sort on the 100 Table, and had dogbutler ping pong-ing between the 100 and 200 Tables. And of course they have me sorting the bags of stuff right when they close the Mez, and send a hundred plus packages to the 100 Slide to be clerked. And the 100 Boxline train broke down. It was a right mess. And it was colder and windier when I left than when I came in. I’d say it was the Monday-est of Wednesday, but I’m not in charge. Poor sods.

In that case, turn lemonade into lemonade by becoming an evil wizard. :man_mage:

I’d pay cash money to watch JtC, GG, and Jolene run around the living room like maniacs.

Di you move into my apartmet? I do hope the landlord responds quick.

You squeezed a bunch of those cute fluffy dogs to mage a drink? You monster!
What? pomegranate, not Pomeranian?

Well, there will be more radio than Interweb after the Apocalypse, so you’re prepared.

I don’t drink coffee, and I’ve never heard of this. Can you please explain?

Trash and recycling and cat box leavin’s have been tended to - not to the convenience center yet, but out of the house into the garage. Dishes have been washed, and we’ve lunched. Daughter is bringing the grands over on Saturday for lunch and basement frolic to tire them out. We’ll talk to her about our cruise then. We’ll need her and./or SIL to keep our grass mowed while we’re gone and tend to Ziva if she lives that long. (She’ll be 17 by then, so it’s within the realm of possibilities that she won’t be here.)

We’ll also talk to her about next week - she or SIL will have to come over at least once to get the mail in and scoop the cat box. And I need to figure out who will tend Ziva in April when we take the inlaws’ ashes to Cades Cove, since Daughter et al are going with us.

So lots of planning around one geriatric critter. Meanwhile, I think I’ll crochet a bit.

I’m having coffee with some coconut ‘creamer’ in it. I’m reminded that I don’t really care for any additives to my coffee. (It’s not bad; just that I prefer my coffee to be strong, black, and bitter.)

Regular coffee is often a bit sour. This coffee tasted like it was brewed incorrectly, or like it was made from very unpleasant beans. Much half and half permitted me to drink a certain amount of it.

Brings to mind the little girl on Airplane! when the boy brings her coffee:

OK, back to whatever I was doing…

The maintenence crew. Is on site Mon to Thurs 7.30-5. I reported it.
