Not so much stitchin’ today, we went to the VA emergency room in Huntington (right on the Ohio border) and I just brought my tablet.
I’m glad you liked the cookies, but am kinda concerned about your persistent cough. That’s been hanging on for too long.
FCM, I keep forgetting to update about the jewelry findings. They are indeed mine and the executor didn’t seem to care even after I mentioned the melt value.
It is a bit of a bother though. I would feel badly selling it for melt but don’t know anyone who makes jewelry and I don’t want to put it in the shed and then forget about it.
I do have a dear friend in AZ who might have a use for the gems, but his health isn’t good and I doubt he has the mental spoons to play with them ATM. I’ll try to remember in a few months when he’s doing better.
IANAD (but have played “naughty nurse” on occasion), but think that if it hasn’t been noticed in three years, that means the growth is pretty slow. Not all tumors are fatal, some of them just exist and take up body space and blood. I do hope he has a nothing growth ![]()
WORK HARDER!!! WORK FASTER!!!
Sounds like you needed it after the chaos. Welcome home to your own quiet space.
We got home about an hour ago. Hubs’ foot has been hurting for a few days. Of course my worries were dismissed until this morning when he couldn’t walk due to the pain. It was so bad that he adjusted one of my canes and used that to get around until he got in the car.
That hospital was one of the top rated VA hospitals in the country when we moved here (haven’t checked since Musk tore through that support system) and I was certainly impressed. He was in a room within 15 minutes of walking in the door and had blood work and x-rays done in less than half an hour. Less than two hours later he was walking out the door with a diagnosis, meds and treatment plan. (cellulitis, treated with antibiotics and steroids.)
Then we had lunch at my fav Mexican place. He got to have two margaritas because I was driving. Weekend margaritas are much more expensive than weekday lunch menu margaritas, but he’s worth it.
And because I had the keys and he was dozing off, I stopped at a few interesting looking shops that I had noticed on prior trips. I didn’t see anything I suddenly couldn’t live without but I did find some cute things that might make good Secret Santa gifts.
We got home about an hour before kittah dinner time, so I took care of that so Hubs could stay off his feet, made us a cheese and meat tray for a snacky dinner after a late lunch and changed the sheets. Now stitching will commence!
