Oh no! Poor ducks.
Had breakies out, reading and laundry in. Put the Yule log on tv and loaded the cd player. The building has movie night tonight, love actually. I might go see it, or not…
Nice lazy Boxing Day.

Nice lazy Boxing Day.
Happy Boxing Day. We’re alone again, relaxing, yay. I’d eat more ham, but we have none. I received some nice gadgets, several books, and a handful of marzipan bars, as well as an egg pan and $ toward my Audible re-up, which is on December 26 for obvious reasons. Okay weather, but getting cold tonight.
Howdy Y’all! I survived candle duty and setup for Sunday’s service plus the trip to
Wally Jr.
Nappage was necessary to revive myself after all that.We day drank, et sup and watched two more episodes of Victoria. I will be sad when we finish. I haven’t enjoyed a series as much since Crown.
MetalMouse and VanGo glad y’all made it home safe and sound.
Naturally.
Mrs. L.A. had pie for dinner. I had a slice of prime rib with horseradish sauce. (Just finished a minute ago.)
VanGo, thought I had a long trip, but at least I had no snow/sleet to deal with, much less a hyperactive doggo.
FCM, sorry to hear about the ducks, but Otis and the donkey sounds like a fine partnership…given that Otis acts like an ass sometimes…
Got my shopping done and once at home realized I had forgotten to take the tomatoes and bananas home with me (receipt showed I paid for them). The Kroger folks were very nice about it, they had put the items back already but let me pick out more and didn’t charge me for them. Now home and definitely not going anywhere else tonight. Still 65F outside at 7:45pm and will stay above 60F all night, so comfortable sleeping should be in store.
Still have to empty out my bag, shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes, but out of sight, out of mind… And need to get to the ENT on Monday, my right hearing aid has stopped working (the left one is fine, so I am a one-eared wonder this weekend),
And now need to forage for a little dinner. Take care all.
I ate marzipan, jerky, and Doritos.
I napped. Dinner tonight was salmon, rice and peas with cajnterelle mushrooms and a Boulevardier.
I did as well.
Nap.
No photos?
Sounds like a meal fit for 04/20.
I ate it at around 4:20, but it was instead of a nap.
Waves and then looks at the needle again.
I made the mistake of doing all of the color first and now I’m doing cream satin stitches and ecru tent stitches forever. I’m smoking some good sativa which is keeping me motivated. I really want to finish this piece this year.
Breakfast of champions!
The PCP appointment wore me out for a while. I have managed my goal for tomorrow already: managing the loo on my own. Using the big girl potty now! ![]()
BIL’s 30 year old son is here for the night and we’ll do Xmas tomorrow.
I usually cut a small beef roast, but I’ve used pork roast, chicken, and occasionally, when I don’t feel like doing all the cutting-up, ground beef. Or a combination of any two of the above. I’ve added bacon to the mix a couple of times. I may use water, I may use red wine. The one constant is a heaping tablespoon of cocoa powder.
It snoweth, lightly.
Hurray!
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 4c/39f with a predicted high of 7c/44f and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Just balls. I’ve fucking got nothing”. I think Weather App’s had enough of this year now!
Yesterday was lovely, the food was good, and everyone enjoyed their presents; even those who were afar. Today will consist of general sloth for me.
You put a lot of effort into that one day, sloth is a welcome reward!
Today is Ursala Kitteh’s tenth gotcha day.
Happy Gotcha Day!
I didn’t realize so much time had elapsed and she had gone looking for me.
I hope she forgave you after an explanation of some good conversations!
He’s chawing on a new antler and we’re thrilled to have someone to watch him as needed.
That’s a relief if you know you’ll be away from home and can’t leave Otis unsupervised. I hope he’s equally happy with the arrangements ![]()
We’re back from Maine. Lots o driving for a 1 day visit, but it was nice to see the whole family together
I’m glad you made it there and back safely, despite Ms Peach getting overexcited. I’m sure you’re both happy to be back in familiar surroundings.
Welcome home, metal mouse!
Yesterday was a relatively slothful day all round. I used some of the leftover turkey to make a curry for last night’s dinner, and we’ll use the rest for lunch stuff. Today I’m up earlier than the last two days, cats have been tended to, and I have a cup of tea. I’m off to the gym shortly, then back home for some domestic drudgery before we venture out to the Big City.
We are having dinner at The Ivy tonight, so part of today may be spent perusing the menu although I’m pretty sure about what I might want (and what I don’t want!). ‘im indoors gets a £100 credit from AmEx every 6 months which can be used in various restaurants at home (and an equivalent €100-ish to use in Europe). The Ivy does make a very good salted caramel espresso martini, that’s always a good place to start! We decided that since we’ll be out and about, we’ll eat there and then get the train back and go to a pub or two on our way home.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 73 and cloudy. Warm for this time of year. No plans at all today which is fine by me as I have nowhere I need or want to be. We will be our usual RDOS sloths. I might make some chawklit chip/pee-kahn cookies. Or not. This is also an any need to feed will be via forage kinda dsy.
red hooray for big girl potty! I am guessin’ Nelson will supervise.
BooFae enjoy the fancy eatin’ place.
Lily that sounds like a perfect sloth meal.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
Well. Things just got exciting here in the last day or so. MusicMan wasn’t feeling good the past couple days so he went to the VA sanctioned urgent care. They did several tests that came back negative. But then they did a chest X-ray and it showed a nodule on his lungs. And, unbeknownst to us, it has been there since 2022, but somehow it never got mentioned or followed up on. It’s gotten bigger since then. He is very concerned.
So, today I wake up and there’s more test results waiting. And, voila, he has Covid. I am the only one with this information so far and it should be interesting. His two sons were here - and one still is. And my mom who hasn’t been doing great lately is going to freak out when I tell her.
I was supposed to go to a celebration of life for a distant cousin today, but obviously that won’t be happening.
, I’m being paged by a picky poodle to get her breakfast together, NOW.
Back later.
I’ve decided that after 2 days of eating too much sweet stuff, I’m going to try to stick to liquids today, because why not? So, diet coke, tea, maybe broth. We’ll see how that goes.
Other plans include some rollsuckage and (brace for it!!) dusting, a run to the UPS store to return the rug to Da Jungle, stops at Food Lion and Aldi for a few things ahead of the kids getting here, and a stop at the credit union. It’s going to be a cold day, but we are promised sun, so there’s that.
The longer range forecast says it’ll be mid-60s on Moanday, and conflicting sites as to whether it’ll rain or not. I’m hoping not, at least for a little while, then I can take the grands to a playground to run off some energy. We shall see. Daughter got to Akron fairly quickly and uneventfully. Here’s hoping the weather holds thru Thursday’s drive back.
As for the rest of today, dunno. As it unfolds, I’ll just go with the flow, or not. We’ll see.
Happy Saturday!!
Hello, folks! The phone says it’s 36 degrees F, later rising to 41, cloudy and more cloudy all day.

Finally made the pumpkin pie that I planned some weeks ago. Yummy, of course.
Yesterday’s lunch was split pea with sausage soup, and today was sloppy joes. So Sunday and Monday will be leftovers. Or we’ll go out.
Hubby disassembled the range hood and I gave it a good cleaning, while he cleaned the toilets and did some vacuuming. We also did a load of towels and will do two loads of sheets, so we’re cleaning up our act.
Need to go back and change a few things in the great organization, but just minor things. Glad we decided to do that - makes the room easier to use, plus everything’s all nice and tidy. Won’t last long, but at least we tried.
Good morning.
It’s 34°F and partly cloudy skies. Partly cloudy skies will change to mostly cloudy by afternoon, with an expected daytime high of 42°F.
VanGo, I’m glad you made it to Maine and back safely. Hopefully, Ms. Peach will eventually calm down.
Lily, I ate a couple of pieces of See’s candy and a banana for lunch, lol. I would have liked the marzipan better.
Sticky, that is quite the news jolt. Hopefully, all concerned will take the news better than expected.
FCM, I love that Otis has befriended a donkey. He really sounds like such a love.
I did not take any naps yesterday. My son and husband did, though. I cleaned the kitchen yesterday, but that’s about all I did. I played on my tablet, played with the pups, and watched movies.
I’m not sure what today holds, but I’ll make the best of whatever it is. Take care!

Sarah (the owner of the kennel) seems to have fallen in love with him. Of course, she’s not the one who tries to relax in her recliner, only to have the beast use her feet and arms as chew toys!!! ![]()
I was digging thru a little-use drawer in my dresser and came across a long-sleeve shirt that I forgot I had, mostly because of its size. But it FITS!!! So I’m wearing it today. Woohoo!!!
FCD went to run his car thru the carwash. Once he gets back, I’ll head out on my errands. Then home for the chores I don’t wanna do, but since I’m technically a responsible adult, I’ll tend to them. Dammit.
