I have about 3 pairs of shorts that fit and 3-4 tshirts I wear. I told my cow-workers last year before I retired that would be my uniform-of-the-day and it pretty much is. I do “dress up” in jeans for church. I guess I’m a slob.

Why is it always dishwashers? Why are there no monoshwashers or trishwashers? Enquiring minds want to know!
Made some biscuits for tomorrow’s breakfast. I used the White Lily flour and I have to say that I’m unimpressed with it. It gives no better rise to the biscuits than when using regular flour and mixing in my own leavening. In fact, it’s worse. Haven’t tried one yet, as they’re for tomorrows B&G (also made the gravy this evening).
I saw a furniture ad on the news this evening for a company called Lovesac. Who thought that was a good idea: Jim Scrotum?
A few years ago, a guy who I dated and i stayed a couple of hotels over in Jackson when we did a long weekend seeing the train museum and in Memphis, the Civil Rights Museum, Staxx Records and Beale Street.
VanGo, when Nelson was a puppy, he had to be weighed at the vet every other month to get the dosage correct for his heartworm preventative. He learned not to fear going there because he got a lot of attention and a treat. While he’s not fond of vet visits as an adult, he doesn’t fear them. Hopefully, the positive treatment for Peach will have the same result.
Even Bateries, Bulbss Plus?
I pitched my raggedy yard shoes that I used for walking the dog before I left. I have a pair of slip on sneakers that I’ll replace them with.
Now that I’m retired, I’d volunteer to guide you through Tennessee and the eastern parts of Arkansas and Texas. At least once I unpack. What are the other nine?
I figured you’d be getting 22-25 mpg with that.
Used one at a rest stop today a97 ferrets. Will concur.
It was an uneventful drive through west Tennessee and through Arkansas today. Got out at a couple of rest stops and took Nelson for walkies. He has now sniffed 3/4 of the vertical surfaces in each.
We made it into Texarkana just before 3, gassed up the car and checked in to the Econolodge. It seems palatial compared to last night’s stay. I didn’t take a shower this morning because they had a walk in shower graded so that the water ran downhill out of the shower instead of towards the drain. Not exactly safe for a handicapped accessible room. In add, the commode was lower than a standard one. Nothing except being ground level was remotely compliant, including parking. This room scores a 95 of 100.
I tried to find a Panera or Subway with a drive thru because I was hungry for salad. No luck, but Wendy’s here still does them, so I had a chicken Caesar and a much craved unsweet tea for supper.
The bra is off, but the pants have to stay on until I walk Nelson before bed.
Thus goeth my Saturday.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Broke my left collar bone. Ugh.
Video? You can’t just come in here and say something like that without providing video!
We almost broke up because he kept “borrowing” my tools and then I couldn’t find them when needed. I bought a can of pink spray paint and painted all of my tools so all of his friends would see MY pink 5/8 socket in his tools.
My first real boyfriend smoked cigarettes. I did .. occasionally. He’d bum off me, until the day I bought those skinny Virginia Slims, or maybe it was the Capri brand.
Anyway, he took one look at them, and decided, “Hmmm, maybe I’ll buy my own.”
Lotsa toxic masculinity with that one, but the “victory” of not bumming any more cigarettes is a memory that makes me smile all these years decades later.
It’s quite warm and muggy in Western Mitten State. Someone at work quipped, “Well, at least it’s not Texas” (several of us are transplants, go figure) and I said, “Yup. Wait, how bad IS it out there?” and looked it up.
Mid 90s, with humidity the heat index was 101F. My Sweet Manager was like, “Aw, hell naws.”
Speaking of Texas, today is my parents’ 48th wedding anniversary.
In a coupla weeks, I’ll mark yet another year of having lost my Other Shoe. I’ll never have what they had.
I saw a picture of them on their wedding day - my gawd, they were so young and happy (I guess having me as a daughter aged them) - but the look on my dad’s face as he beamed at my mom … I have very mixed feelings right now.
Ugh indeed. What happened?
I have vaccuumed my car. The interior is very tidy.
Have I mentioned that we now own only 3 sets of regular sheets? (There are a coupla flannel, but I’m not putting those on the bed in summer.) Right now, everything’s heaped on the bed so Tiny Round Robot could do our scut work unimpeded, so off I must go to unheap.
Metal Mouse
Ouch, that sounds painful.
As I parent whose kids participate in sports and have done so since early elementary school, I can’t thank you enough.
We get caught up in the moment and forget to thank the refs and staff but it would not be possible without all the time you’ll put in.
As I got tricked into race management, I understand better what you all have been doing for years.
There are some parents in our sailing club who don’t help out and then bitch about this and that
when things aren’t completely perfect or the arbitrary choices aren’t what they had wanted.
Do you ever get the crazy parents there ?
As for clothes, I have 6 pairs of jeans, 4 pairs slacks, and 3 pairs of shorts. My problem is shirts, about 15 polos and 25 t-shirts, but at least I do move them around and wear them all…eventually…
Back when I was in sales, Iwould have three
to four winter suits, at least three summer suits, 15 or more dress shirts, three or more dress belts, five or six pairs of dress shoes and several dozen ties. Oh yeah, and a formal suit for funerals and weddings.
I was so happy when Japan loosened a bit and I could wear polos part of the time.
Now I teach, it’s t-shirts and polos.
A bunch of my shirts are for events such as the world championships SenBoy participates in. The sailors take a bunch and trade with people from other countries. Parents and coaches do a bit as well, and I have team shirts from Germany, Italy, USA and New Zealand.
I napped. Or tried to. the upstairs neighbors were dragging big bins back in forth, their larvae were shrieking, and the dog was barking at the Invisible Mole People. Now I’m having a Vieux Carré and Asian BBQ stirfry. And Teeter is now selling a Shitake/Mitake/Lions Head mushroom blend, so I wne full fungus tonight.
I hear there is beer there…
EastWestbound and down, loaded up and truckin’…
boo fae, best of luck with the wiper blade replacement…for something that should be a breeze, it gives me trouble too every time.
50% I ace this easy task. 50% of the time I go full Midvale School For the Gifted.

Early on the late-night final, but I’m still sore and achy from that fall today. plus I suspect I have lots of soccer stuff to do tonight and tomorrow, along with laundry and mowage on Sunday. Did get my seasonal Safety Director message out to the masses, so that mission is done before practices officially start. Still 82F outside while coming up on 9pm. My electric bill in September is going to be a doozy…
FCM, enjoy the sewing time. And I have had pancakes for lunch more than a few times…
lily, you are certainly a JOAT…A Jill Of All Trades.
How are you going to survive retirement if you spend all that money on clothes?
Most of the T-shirts are 8-20 years old, and the jean/slacks and shirts are only newer because I’ve lost 90 lbs in the last 3 years, so had to resize. Weight has stayed stable all year now between 200-205lbs so hopefully no major buys in the near future.
Cookie, hope the biscuits don’t disappoint.
red, it’s 90% stop-n-go driving I do, maybe 400-450 miles a month. Times I do hit the freeways it’s closer to your numbers.
Crafterman, ouch, that’s not fun…have they got you braced up now? And that’s why at 73 I hate falling…
{{shoe}}, just because.
Ouch, that sounds painful.
It wasn’t immediately after, bu now that I’ve been sitting a pretty inactive for hours, it is hurting more.
Do you ever get the crazy parents there ?
We’re fairly lucky, the AYSO is an all-volunteer organization on the club level, so with hundreds of parents involved in some way, it usually isn’t too crazy…
And that’s all for today I think. Need to check my email for any responses to my messages this afternoon. Been kinda putting it off, wondering whatnew problem will develop. And just peeked and…not a single problem e-mail (guess they are all waiting for tomorrow…). Take care all (and don’t fall down…)

Dang! I hope you heal quickly.

When I got to Texarkana this afternoon, it was 104F. However, it wasn’t as humid as it was when I left middle Tennessee.
In a coupla weeks, I’ll mark yet another year of having lost my Other Shoe. I’ll never have what they had.
I hope that your dignity was the worst thing injured in your fall, **metal mouse **.
red, it’s 90% stop-n-go driving I do, maybe 400-450 miles a month. Times I do hit the freeways it’s closer to your numbers.
Not really *my * numbers (so far, I’ve averaged ~41mpg this trip), but under what I thought your car would get.
You called hub’s mom and told on him?!?! How mean!
I don’t think I’ve ever claimed to be nice!
She started laughing as soon as I said “I’m calling to tell you what YOUR son just did?” because she knew from raising him that when he was HER son, he done screwed up!
We had already bonded over thread and fabric, I knew she had my back over the scissors!
and either tripped or messed up my center of gravity or something and BAM landed flat on my back
Don’t do that again, mkay?
happy relaxing.
As it happened, we realized that the family reunion was tomorrow, not next Sunday (he gave me the wrong date and put that same wrong date into his outlook), so today was rushed. Making chocolate crinkle cookies is not a hard task, but the dough needs to sit in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
AND, my recipe got lost in the last couple of weeks. I had pulled it out to check ingredients and then left it out to show Hubs that I was prepared. Somehow it disappeared (I suspect one of us was dealing with mail and grabbed it along with the rest of the junk) along with all of my notes. There are many crinkle cookie recipes out there, but I had refined mine over the years and all of those notes were gone.
So…much time was spent trying to not only find the original recipe but also doing test bakes to get the size and cook time right.
I’m still not happy with the results, but they will have to do.
I also put the rooting catnip in dirt and then started a few more pieces. Of course GG had to have his tribute and I gave Jolene a few leaves of her own. She doesn’t get the addiction, but likes to rub on it so GG will lick it off her fur.
My yarn was delivered and I’ve started on the first lap robe - in forest green and cream.
I like those colors. How are your wrists feeling after the hiatus?
It is done. On to the car floor vac.
Just climbing the ladder would have been it for me for the day, so go you!
I saw a furniture ad on the news this evening for a company called Lovesac. Who thought that was a good idea: Jim Scrotum?
It was an uneventful drive through west Tennessee and through Arkansas today.
Uneventful drives are the best evah! Dang about the shower, for some reason, driving long distance always makes me feel grubby despite having a clean car.
I’ve also learned that accessible rooms are sometimes an adventure. I do like the wheelchair showers as long as they are graded properly, but sadly, they are often not safe.

Those people are all over, no matter what is going on. They make me so grumbly, they aren’t willing to put in the time and then have the unmitigated gall to complain that other unpaid people aren’t able to recreate an expensive, professionally staged event.
I swap out my minion periodically. I changed this one a couple of weeks ago. Next will be for Halloween if I can find one.
I crocheted till 11 - the evening got away from me. So late beddy-bye…
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 90 and mostly sunny. Still a little cooler than normal for August. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization in which I get to plop in a pew. However, afterwards there will be training for Eucharistic ministers (chalice bearers) of which I am one. I must attend because my license is up for renewal and I am told I will be assistin’ with the trainin’. We have some new folks interested in doin’ this which is a good thing as we could use more folks. The license is good for three years. OYKW is sayin’ I have church detention because that amuses him. Some form of McLunch will get figured out. I am in favor of stoner food. The rest of the day is reserved for RDOS inactivities.
Crafter ouchie! Hope your shoulder heals soonest.

red may today’s travels be as non eventful as Sattidy’s travels. Will you get to Houston today?
Lily just readin’ about your productivity tired me out!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 17c/62f with a predicted high of 23c/73f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “I fucking enjoy sunshine. I don’t like it when people fucking blow it up my ass.” That’s a mental picture I don’t think I really want!
We each have a laundry basket and are responsible for separating our own colors and delicates since we have different practices
When I moved in here, I brought my own laundry basket and ‘im indoors already had one. His is a tall thing with a lid - he turns the lid upside down and puts his dirties in there instead of inside the actual basket. I have no idea why. I throw everything in my basket and then combine the two when I do the laundry. We have next to no white stuff, everything’s black or dark blue so separating things isn’t an issue. I have a couple of laundry bags that I use, he has no idea what to do with them. He does sometimes put the laundry in the machine but hanging it up afterwards is always my job because he doesn’t do it right.
for something that should be a breeze, it gives me trouble too every time.
It was surprisingly quick! It took me longer to pull the old one out of the fitting than it did to get the new one in. I don’t look forward to doing the front ones, the ones on my last car had such a weird fitting system that defied the laws of physics. Also, hope you are not too badly bruised from your fall!
so many “comedies” strike me as bad vaudeville routines.
I am not a big fan of sitcoms, most of them come across as forced and sometimes quite painful to watch! I grew up with stuff like Butterflies, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum, Citizen Smith and On the Buses. There are some that are very politically incorrect these days (George and Mildred, Love They Neighbour, Til Death Do Us Part). They improved a bit with The Young Ones, Blackadder and Father Ted
I reminded him that one cannot day drink if one does not start in the mornin’.
Hmmm….it’s 10.38am, perhaps I should swap my cup of tea for something stronger!
Broke my left collar bone. Ugh.
Ouch! How did you manage that? I did the same, aged around 8 riding a bike that was a bit too big for me. Someone opened a car door unexpectedly and I went straight into it.

Yesterday was a bit of a busy day but I managed to do everything I’d planned to do. I cooked a salmon fillet with baby new potatoes and salad for dinner, then watched a film before bed. The house was cooler and I slept pretty well. I was up a little later than usual, got the cats fed and cleaned the litter trays before settling down here with a cuppa and a bacon butty.
I have no big plans for today, I could push the rollsuck around but I really can’t be bothered. The carpets haven’t been done in a while and there’s a trail of bits of litter from little paws, but not enough to make me feel like I really have to do something about it. It’ll last another day.
I might start going through one of the wardrobes to get stuff ready for donation. I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow and there are a couple of charity clothing bins in the supermarket’s car park where I can offload things. Other than that, it will be slothing on the sofa for me.
