(Old) Here It Is! The MMP

I’m still stressing out.

Imgur

I don’t like how the center bit is laying, I might take it out and do it again with double threads, I haven’t yet decided. Or, I could overstitch it with the lavender, a little glitter would make it pop right nice.

My stitching group has grown to an amazing 14 people. Most women are doing embroidery and it is mostly a sip-and-bitch meeting, but I’m really happy that it has taken a life of itself.

Jarrad (store owner’s son) is in college now and only visits with us during breaks, which is probably a good thing. I’m still haven’t recovered properly from his punch. That’s the second worse drink I’ve ever had.

Hubs is up and walking and able to deal with the trash again. He also cleaned my shotgun and bought fresh ammo. It was well oiled before the move, but I’m sure it needed it again. We might go and buy that lamp on Wednesday, it will depend on how ICEy it is then. They’ve shut down most of the Mexican restaurants and the Olive Garden. I’m not very good at the whole sit down and shut up thing, so it is probably best that I don’t run into the gestapo while shopping.

Its been under freezing for the last couple of days. Our heater is keeping up with it, but my french doors still make my room cold. I guess I could close my thermal drapes, but then I wouldn’t be able to watch the forest. Happily, I like bundling up in sweaters and sweats, but Jolene is a short haired cat and she is getting cold enough to burrow under George instead of laying on top of him. I could break out a space heater, but I’m comfy enough and watching them snuggle is calming, so bring on the cold!

Up from naptime, having a Vieux Carré and Asian BBQ stirfry. Canes win, and another hat trick.

I did fine in math until Calculus.

one of our clients is a medical testing lab, that does drug/urine testing among other things. But the clients never upload the shipping info, so I have to.

My current earworm

Well if you find them, send them to me.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I’ll do the usual morning cleaning and afternoon sloth. It’s is currently 41 degrees Ferret Height(5 Centipedes) and raining. There might be afternoon snow.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 42 Amurrkin out and rainy. TWPTB say the temp will drop a bit and the rain will turn to snow about an hour. We shall see. The predicted high is 46 and sunny this afternoon. Weather be weird. Since we will not deheathenate today, I am makin’ a brunch of French toast, bacon and adult hawt chocklit. RDOS inactivities will be the order of the day.

MOOOOOOM always happy to be a bad influence. The show is addictive.

Now I need more caffeine and to eat a little sump’n so’s I can take drugs. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

FCD said last night that he wants to go out for breakfast this morning. It’s raining and cold - will that affect his desire for pancakes?? It would mine. We’ll see what happens when he wakes up.

We’re promised rain and/or up to an inch of snow before it moves out tonight. That says to me “Stay in and stay warm.” But I tend to be a wuss about stuff like this, especially when there’s nothing I have to do.

I expect my day will be crocheting and TV, unless my sweetie needs help in the shop. I don’t want to wake him, but I usually have had breakfast by now and the crankies are starting to set in. Not a good way to start the day.

Happy Sunday anyway!

Peedin, your stitching group reminds me of my late brother’s wife, who was in a lace-making group. The word tat means “to make lace,” so she was in tatters. I suppose the same would be true for a group of tattoo artists.

Otis has been fed. FCD is awake so we’ll get cleaned up, clad, and on our way. Well, not Otis - he’ll be crated.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 6c/43f with no predicted change, and a chance of drizze. Weather app says “This fucking rain is trash.” Except it’s not raining, it was misty earlier but no signs of any rain yet.

A youtube video of the inside of the station is always good to help with an idea of size and the locations of stairs etc. I think my favourite train connection was in Hungary, we caught a train from one of the main stations in Budapest and had to change to a local service along the way. We got off the mainline train at Kisújszállás which at the time was just a single platform and a load of rail tracks. Absolutely no idea which one we needed, and nobody around to ask (also, we didn’t speak more than 3 words of Hungarian!) so that was fun. The big train pulled out and we saw a little one-carriage chuffer about three tracks away, so we went to have a look at it and fortunately there was a wooden plaque on the side that said Kisújszállás-Kunhegyes so we took a chance as that was the station we needed to get off at. Another adventure successfully completed, as that was the right train!

Sounds very sensible, you don’t want folks slipping and sliding around, and it’s a good idea if the place is also without water. Enjoy being a heathen while Precious clutches pearls and rummages in the drawer for the smelling salts!

I am glad to hear that you’ve created a group for them all to get together, even if it’s more bitchin’ that stitchin’, those are always the fun ones.

Yesterday was a busy one - I went to get my hair cut then scooted home for a quick lunch, got the cat feeders set up and made sure the litter trays were clean. Then I drove us over to Cannock for the start of Dementia Aware-Fest. I parked across the road from the venue for a couple of hours, then in a break between bands we nipped back to the Premier Inn to check in and get changed, then I got us an Uber back to the venue. More bands were seen, beer was drunk, hugs were exchanged and a very good time was had. We did slip out again later in the evening for a curry at Saleem Bagh which was yummy. Back to the venue for the headline band, and then it was time to get a cab back to the hotel.

I was up quite early so faffed around on FB for a bit until 'im indoors was awake, had a cup of tea and then a quick shower before it was time to leave. We backtracked up the road a little, and had breakfast at the OK Diner which was definitely OK. We’d never been there before, but would definitely go back again.

After some food, I drove us home and we got the cats some fresh food and cleared up the litter trays so everyone’s happy again. No other plans for today, I am not making dinner and I’ve been told we’re having a homemade version of chicken chow mein so that will be nice. Off to veg, and drink more tea!

Happy Sunday!

It’s cold out today, 34F / 1C, which is verrrrrrry cold for Houston. Not a whole lot going on today, so I’ll get to it.

The angels have been combing their hair again, though they seem to be taking a break now. Weather.gov says it’s currently 33 Ferret Height (one Centipede) with fog/mist and “unknown precip”. There’s a winter weather advisory in effect until 0400, 100% chance of snow slacking off to 90% tonight, three to five inches possible.

High-level alarm on my bladder generally goes off between three and four, which gives me plenty of time to go back to sleep until Lily wakes me up around 0730 to see if it’s time for breakfast yet. (No – they get fed at 0900.)

Forgot to hit the pharmacy Friday afternoon, and tomorrow’s a holiday, so I’ll have to wait until Tuesday to pick up my scripts. I have just enough of one of the two to last me through tomorrow. Holidays were much more useful when I was working…

Good morning all. Stayed in bed until 7:30am today, made the NY Times Sunday paper run and now am probably internettin’ until it comes time to dress appropriately and head over to Texas Roadhouse. it’s below freezing (29F) now but the sun is out and there is no breeze, so it’s tolerable outside and due to get near 40F later. Some soccer in my afternoon’s future from about 2-5pm, but nothing else on the Agenda.

Coppertone, suds in the toilet? That is strange.

JtC, it looks OK to me, but what I know about stitching can be written on a small grain of rice, so do what you’re comfortable with. And yay! for having a stitching group…a lot of that is because of you, lady and good on ya. And sorry about the closures around you, it’s when the current policies really start to affect more and more individuals that we’ll see a change (I hope).

boo fae, sounds like a bit of an adventure, I prefer my transportation to be a little more organized. But I don’t speak Hungarian either, so glad you guessed right. And another fun weekend was had I see. And that’s quite a Diner, it could fit right into the US scene with that menu.

And off to internet for about an hour before heading out for some steak, fries, salad and very tasty dinner rolls. Have a good Sunday all.

Mornin’ everyone.

It’s 30F, frosty, and a little foggy outside. Once the fog and clouds clear, we’re expecting sunshine and a daytime high of 48F.

JtC, I’m glad you have the stitching group. Please take care of yourself. I empathize with both your anger and pain concerning the current state of affairs.

VanGo, I hope your back is feeling better today.

Nice work on the painting, FCM!

We went on a 20-mile bike ride yesterday. When we left the house, it was around 36F, but had warmed to the 40s by the time we ate and arrived at the trailhead. There were parts of the trail still ice- and frost-encrusted, but it was a beautiful ride. We turned around in Buckley. Actually, looking at the trail map, we did closer to 22 miles. By the end, I had hit a wall. Part of it was the fact that I was sore in the saddle area. I’m going to have to try yet another bike saddle. I used eco mode most of the ride, which requires pedaling, so I definitely got my exercise in, too.

I posted a few pics of yesterday’s adventure on the book of faces.

I need to do some rollsucking today. I should dash out to the store to pick up a few items, too.

Alrighty, time to finish my coffee.

1F upon arising, and it’s now clawed its way up to 6F with snow flurries and a stiff breeze. The apartment was quite cold when I got up, so I turned on all heat producers (except the stove) to take the edge off.

The dining room was doing its usual Sunday biscuits and gravy, so we thought we’d partake. It’s been good in the past, but today’s was fairly tasteless, which was disappointing.

We have to finally get our Christmas boxes down to storage today, but otherwise no plans.

About the same temp in no. Illinois as in MSP. Chuck roast is in the slow cooker with onions, carrots, celery, and beef stock. Brownies are in the oven. Later this morning I will pick up my new laptop. Said in game show announcer’s voice. Will be watching Bears v Rams later.

A cold advisory has already been issued for tomorrow. Wind chills of 25-30 below.

The place we wanted to visit for breakfast posted on FB : closed today due to an unforeseen circumstance. So we went to Cracker Barrel instead. It was weird - the parking lot looked full, but the restaurant was about 2/3 empty! I was happy to see they’d brought back the egg sammich, tho it was almost doubled in price. Plus the fruit cup side is now considered premium, which further upped the tab. Still, it was a nice break. And on the way back, we stopped by Daughter’s to pick up my carpet cleaner and drop off some litter box deodorizer (I bought a case, not realizing it would take years to use it all!! Well, almost…)

Now we’re home. FCD is back in his shop and I just finished building a veggie-beef-barley soup. It’ll simmer for a while, then I’ll divide it into freezer bags for future meals (apart from what we’ll eat today.) So, now what?? Dunno, but we’ll see.

I’m thinking it’s crochet time.

Howdy Y’all! The weather has been drunk on the lawn weird today. Rain turned into snow (pics on the book of faces) and now the sun is out and the snow is mostly melted. TWPTB have issued a freeze warning overnight. It’s Winter and we have Winter weather. Imagine that! Brunch was good. We had Irish coffees cause that’s a good sit out on the back porch and sip beverage. The French toast was tasty, but both of us prefer pancakes or waffles, so that is duly noted for future reference.

BooFae Precious didn’t do the weather on the local teevee station this mornin’. I am sure it was just all too much for him and he probably took to the bed with his clutchin’ pearls and smellin’ salts. That diner menu looks so good! I could def chow down there.

VanGo hope your back feels better today.

JtC glad your stitchin’ group is doin’ so well. The social aspect of it is just as important, if not more important than the craft stuff. That seems to be true of the stitch ‘n bitch group that meets in the church Parish hall.

OK, methinks it’s time for cake and All Creatures Great and Small.

It rained. I cleaned, dusted and vacuumed. I took out the trash and recycling in the rain. I was gonna refill the bird feeder, but it was still 3/4, Fat Bastard just knocked it over for funsies. I’m having some hot chocolate with tequila. One load of laundry is in the dryer, one is waiting for it.

A légpárnás hajóm tele van angolnákkal!*

I had Aldi waffles for breakfast.

Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry about the saddle sores.

*“My hovercraft is full of eels!”

Even before I looked up the translation, I was pretty sure I knew what this said!

It’s snowing - it has been for a couple of hours, but there’s barely a dusting to be seen. The pavement is wet - mostly it’s sticking on leaves on the ground. And it’s cold and icky and now almost dark. Needless to say, I’ve not ventured out since we got back from breakfast.

Supper was slightly early - we had the soup I made today. There’s enough for a couple of bowls tomorrow, too, and 3 zippy bags in the freezer for future meals. I spent most of the afternoon in my recliner - I watched Appointment with Death - not one of the better Poirot stories IMHO. Then I watched a show about the Three Stooges followed by Charles Kuralt talking about The Dick Van Dyke Show. And I added several inches to the latest lap robe.

Tomorrow, I need to run a few errands, including a stop at Lowes to pick up 20 bags of pellets - hoping that much added to what we have will get us thru the winter. But the rest of this evening will be with All Creatures and more crocheting. Much chillage here.

kozy kittehs!!

I’m pretty sure that’s how Ziva spends the night once Otis is in bed.
