(Old) I think I MAY start the MMP

Howdy Y’all! We decided to have majik intartoobz pizza and sallit for lunch. Nappage then ensued. It got nice and warm this afternoon, so we day drank out by the cee-mint pond. Scurvy and malaria were warded off. Now it’s time to watch some stoopid teevee and eat some Ben & Jerry chawklit brownie or whatever it’s called ice cream.

{{{Nellie}}} very gentle hugs. I am so sorry you are in so much pain! I am also glad you have had such good caregivers like your daughter, son, and Sir Charles. Do what you can, but not too much, OK?

MOOOOOOM maybe celebs go out in dark wigs, sunglasses and hoodies. Maybe they have PSWSLNS to guard 'em. I sometimes want PSWSLNS to guard me when I am out and about, but that’s just so people will go away.

Pilot so glad you dropped by! RDOS FTW for sure. I love every single day of it. Happy that GF and you are still together and still nuts (N.O.N.) about each other.

Cookie lack of a/c and spotty intartoobz would lead me to form a posse and go after management. Walkers up people! We shuffle at dawn!

FlyBoy it’s great when folks can have a sense of humor when out in public. Y’all gave a few people a reason to smile and laugh for a bit. Always a good thing.

Mollie of course you were given a warm welcome. Hope the new headache medicine helps Mrs. Magill. Chloè got sticks and chikin! It’s like the best day ever! Hope Squeaky is not too dehydrated/sunburned this evenin’. Yay for the tooth! BTW I got the ELO reference on your cool tag.

rocker sounds like you really got your nerd on at the pen thing. Good for you!

SCAD you’d like my fried okra. It’s mostly okra with some green tomato, sweet onion (Vidalia is my choice), and some banana pepper thrown in for funsies. I coat it in flour that’s been seasoned with salt and pepper and fry it in very small batches with just enough hot oil to coat the bottom of the pan. The trick is to keep it warm whilst I fry small batches. Aluminum foil is my friend for that.

Taters good for you for lettin’ them know of your expectations re d ressin’ your mom. Hope you can get an account set up for her soonest. Glad the eye shows improvement.

shoe you gave me a memory of my mom. When the sibs and I got grown and gone, she switched entirely to paper plates (the nice ones, of course). She had no qualms with silverware, real glasses, and real cups and saucers, but never washed a plate again. Well, real cakeplates got used, but other than that no real plates. Tequila has made my clothes fall off a few times. That was for Pilot and you.

Hippie HUZZAH! What fantastic news!

What wonderful news, hippie!

:: rings virtual bell ::

{{{{Nellie}}}}

Hippie: Hurray!!

Of all the things I had to do whilst in the Navy, I hated painting the most.

???

Ding! Ding! Ding! That’s my go to for iced tea. Hot tea is more flexible.

Yay! :tada:

:musical_notes: Yes, we have no bananas :musical_notes:

The car has been inspected. While we didn’t hit the dog park, we did go through the drive thru, well Nelson got a pup cup.

Yay!

{{{Nellie}}}

Glad to see you, pilot.

Up from naptime. Spot wanted cuddle time, so he got that. He was grooming my head. Which I don’t mind, but I worry he’s seen the Tootsie Roll Pop commercial. “One. Two. Three. < cronch > Three.” I had a Boulivardier for cocktails. Dinner is Cajun seasoned catfish, smoky rice, and green beas with peppers and onions.

 :100:

Evening all. Did my gym workout and some grilled cheese with bacon took care of my appetite, so will be off to bed sooner than later, since the last weekend of youth soccer here is tomorrow and I have a few referee jobs to do (also ‘mentoring’ some youth refs in the afternoon). Still 72F and was a nice day, tomorrow promises more of the same.

And 24 messages to read, so better get to it…

cookie, one nice thing about being a bachelor is that I can strip down…considerably…when it gets hot, but still prefer the AC when the outdoor thermometer is living in the 80’s.

Hippie, I am so happy for you. May you remain that happy all of your days.

BBBoo, that’s solid advice for Nellie.

FCM, when I first read bridge I was thinking something happened on the boat, but I see it was the public type. And who knew paint could get into so many places…

VanGo, mowage will probably take place here on Sunday, hopefully all the parts will behave properly.

And time to head off to read a little and sleep a lot. Take care all.

I has a sad. I think my desktop is dying. It shut itself down and when I restarted it, it immediately shut down again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Now it’s just sitting there trying to restart. I’ll unplug it and try again tomorrow.

I am so happy for you.

I have had all of these things fried individually.

I love each one.

But I might have gone the rest of my life not thinking, “Yanno, we could fry 'em together” and this is part of why I  this place.

Many hospitals and cancer treatment centers have a bell for patients to ring with triumph once they’re told those magical words.

I drove to a local Chinese joint for a potsticker snack on my break.

They use the exact same phone system as my :pizza: joint, and I’d been on phone duty all shift. That familiar sound, and … it was all I could do not to hop out of my chair and be like, “I got it!”

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s my Firday! It’s also 58 degrees Ferret Height(14.444 Centipedes).

Poo on the desktop issues, red.

Go Hippie!

The max/min thermometer in the tunnel recorded just a single centipede last night, though it is a very cheap thermometer and I’m not sure of its accuracy. Hopefully that’s the end of the cold snap, it looks to be warming up from now on. No visible damage to any of the plants in there, luckily I did wrap the most delicate ones in fleece last night.

I cannot decide if I should go to a plant nursery (I need some grit for the potting mix), an open garden, or just go somewhere for a walk. Maybe the open garden, as I think the good strawberry stand has just opened for the season, and that route goes right past…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 88 and sunny until mid-late afternoon. I envision quality cee-mint pond time today. Any need to feed will be via forage as we have plenty of sammich makin’s, chips and so forth. We take bein’ RDOS very seriously.

red sorry about your desktop. Hope it can be saved. I haven’t had a desktop in years. I have a laptop and my tablet. I like both but especially like my tablet.

shoe that’s my family recipe for fried okra. Note it is mostly okra with a little bit of green tomato, onion, and banana pepper. I like fried okra all by itself, but combined like that just takes it over the top.

Nuts I think the open garden sounds like a plan especially since it involves fresh strawberries.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/52f with no predicted change, and cloudy. Weather app declares “No fucking sun for you!”

Taters I am sorry you are having so much frustration with things for your mother. It is hard when you think you’re doing your best but the staff aren’t co-operating. I hope you can get some stuff sorted out for her.

Allowable if there’s nothing else available, otherwise I’d be giving you The Look

hippie I was so happy to see your news on FB, I hope you and Sunflower had a little celebration.

Bit of a drive-by today as time is short…we had a fun night out at the Giff, and got back in the house just after midnight. I am up and sheveled in my scruffies so just need to put on some going-out clothes. The postie has just delivered some new leggings so I might have to wear those today. We are off to Nottingham for a music festival, all Scandinavian bands, and one that we like very much but rarely get to see them so when their name came up, we knew we had to be there.

Cats will be fending for themselves and doing battle with the automated feeders, we will shut the door to Muffin’s room as Cherry’s been in and out bothering her, so we’ll give the little 'un some peace. Should be home tomorrow afternoon, Travel Gods permitting, as we’re on the train this time. Got to dash!

Reminds me - one of the women who lives aboard in our marina said she saw our boat neighbor standing on the bow of his boat, stark nekkid, peeing into the water. Our ever-so-sexist boat neighbor. The other day when I was prepping the supports for paint, he made a comment (I can’t remember his exact words) expressing amazement that I was able to do such a manly chore… ??? My come-back (not thought of till much later) should have been “Yeah, I have tits and opposable thumbs!!”

At which point I decided if I ever become a stand-up comic, I would have a Tits and Opposable Thumbs Tour. Anyone wanna write my routine for me?

red - start a thread and describe your 'puter issue. I’m sure you can get an answer and/or suggestion as to the issue. That might help you decide whether to get it fixed or replaced. Fingers crossed that it’s not a biggie.

Today starts with 50 Ferrets, on the way to mid-80s. Perfect day for the Welcome Back Picnic. We’ll be taking Otis for some socialization and because poor pup has spent so much time alone at home. I convinced FCD to sleep in. He was going to head back to the boat to finish the engine work, but I told him we can deal with that tomorrow. He acts like the boat needs to be done yesterday as if we’re on a schedule. I’ve never seen him like this. At least today he may actually chill.

I’ve got a little sewing to do today - putting fresh velcro on the curtain tie-backs, then soaking the curtains and tie-backs in oxyclean before laundering them. Several are stained and it’d be nice if they were all white again. I can get that done before we have to leave, I hope. For the most part, a relaxing day ahead.

Happy Saturday!!

Morning all. Bladder gave me a 6am wakeup call and I decided to honor it today. Last day for Spring soccer, I have 2 games to referee (10:15am and 11:30am) and two more to monitor for youth referees (1:00 and 2:45pm), so should be fairly active. Great weather for it, 67F this early heading to 84F, so need to remember my referee cap.

red, my desktop (which is aging but not quite ancient) when I turn it on refuses to go to the starting screen, but when I turn it off for 15 seconds and restart it then it boots up just fine. May be a symptom of coming failure, but so far, so good (makes note to do some computer shopping in the near future).

Nut, hope the warmth sticks around there, and enjoy the strawberries…

swampy, I have a laptop and tablet, but barely use either, just never got into the habit. Do use my phone when I’m out to keep up with life as we know it…

boo fae, enjoy the trip to Nottingham and I trust no one there plays the oldie rock song “I shot the Sherriff…” (obilatory geezer joke).

FCM, I have no talent for writing comedy, but you should patent the Tits and Opposable Thumbs Tour and sell it to a comedian. And hope you can get FCD to chill, sometimes we guys get something in our heads that We Must Do and…well, you that better than I. Enjoy the day out.

And onward I go. Have a good one all.

What did you do yesterday, pee the bed?

Hooray for remission, Hippie! (bumper sticker) “Honk if you love oncology!”

Ah, yes, gin and tonic!

Time for breakfast.

Good morning.

It’s 44F, cloudy, and damp outside. The forecast calls for clouds, rain, thunderstorms, and a daytime high of 53F. This feels more like March.

FCM, your marina neighbor sounds like a real winner. There’s probably a reason he lives alone on a boat. Love the comedy tour name, and I hope the Welcome Back Picnic goes well.

Nellie, I hope you are feeling a little better today. And, DO NOT BEND OVER!

I stayed home yesterday and did a bunch of nothing. I applied a hot compress to my eye every hour or two, but that’s about it. Fortunately, the weather was pretty icky, so I didn’t feel too guilty about doing nothing.

I also spoke to my sister yesterday and updated her on all the doings with my mother. We’ll make plans to meet up soon so I can give her my mother’s purse and cane. She told me she can’t visit my mother on the 19th, because she needs to be in Oregon. I told her I’m pretty much out starting Monday due to dog-sitting and my birthday.

I don’t know what the day holds. Maybe a nursery trip, and maybe a dash to visit my mother. I’m mulling it all over. For now, I’m going to drink coffee and laugh at poorly designed expensive houses.

You all take care of yourselves.

A quarter 'til seven, and I’ve had one cuppa joe. Didn’t get up until six or so. So what’s on the agenda today? I got the license plates for my ‘new’ car. I’ll have to put them on. I have to apply for Medicare. (I still don’t have insurance from irk.) I was going to make roast beef for dinner tomorrow, but we’ve decided I’ll make it today. I’ll have to go to the supermarket to get some red potatoes and maybe something green to go with it. (And I’m out of tortillas. Need to get those too.) Oh, I need to shred some more cheese; which reminds me I have to run the dishwaher, which reminds me that I need to do laundry.

I think I’ll ask The Missus if she wants a cheese omelette-and-bacon sandwich for breakfast.

A-Gang repair method: Hit it with a hammer. If that doesn’t fix it, get a bigger hammer and hit it again.

It’s his bed; he can pee it if he wants to!

0950, and sunny with 55 Ferrets (33 Centipedes) out of the predicted 73 (23).
