(Old) It's snacktime in the MMP!

Aw, I’m so sorry! That’s one of the worries I always have when we’re on trips - what if one of the cats gets sick and no one’s there to notice? But in our case, she was doing some intensive cuddling with her actual person (I’m secondary, but I’m also willing to hang out in the yard with her longer). Once her beloved got up to fix herself breakfast, it was leash time. I even managed to get enough work in that the yard looks noticeably better!

Back up slaves are always important!

I’m still dealing with the back yard, all it takes is a few drops of water and the weeds sprout up knee high overnight.

I came back online to discuss the new law allowing body composting in Arizona. However, when I was copying the link, I looked at the comments so maybe I should start a new thread. It seems much more controversial than I expected.

We just have one drawer, the “snack drawer”, which has chocolate, nuts, popcorn (to be popped on the stove), and open boxes of crackers.

I miss cool ranch Doritos (called cool American Doritos outside the U.S.). For a short time we could get them in normal stores. And then we couldn’t even order them online.

Recently I tried the local equivalent of corn nuts. They are on the “buy rarely” list because I inhale them and hubby doesn’t eat them. I never liked them when I tried them as a kid/teenager, so this changed.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Yeah, he let’s me touch him now. To be fair, if someone shared snacks with you, and you woke up with your genitals missing and part of your ear torn off, you’d have extreme trust issues, too.

Neither did Heather Chandler.

Awake and have to pee.

Happy Toosday!

My bladder woke me at 5, which was very annoying as I didn’t need to get up until 630.
I wanted to get a shower, but my son was just getting out as I was headed that way. There wouldn’t be enough hot water.
The shower is probably what woke me. I really need to get a shower put in his bathroom, it’s far enough away that the sound of running water won’t wake up my bladder.
I wish I had done the bathroom renovations before we moved in. Now I don’t want to deal with the mess. I know some companies say they can do it in one day, but I doubt it because the bathroom doors aren’t very wide.
It’s on the ToDo LIst.

My alarm is going off. Time to check and see if anybody is going to the park this morning.

Good morning. I didn’t make it to posting yesterday. I’m not exactly sure why but it probably had something to do with the great Should I Stay or Should I Go debacle about my dad’s apartment. The TLDR is that we did go up there and MusicMan, who is a wonderful husband, went in the place while I stayed in the car.

It sounds like a good thing that I didn’t go in. MusicMan said it smelled like death and dog :poop: and bird :poop: and more. There were piles of garbage just laying around. The most disconcerting was the boxes of medicine that had been shipped to him - complete with cold packs - that had been opened but the pills never even left the boxes. The most mysterious find was EIGHT cellphones including, I think, 3 iPhones in various conditions and 5 android phones that we believe are the cheap ones you can buy at the drug store. Plus a brand new looking iPad, a Chromebook, another small tablet, and a laptop. Unfortunately I cannot figure out my dad’s secret code. Since it switched from a 4 digit code to a 5, it’s thrown me off my game of how to guess what his might have been.

From what I tentatively read, it appears that I’m going to be out of luck on trying to get into the iPhones. I think that Apple will only help you redo a phone and not unlock it. I hope that I’m wrong. Sorta.

Today is the dentist and then volunteering at the AMC. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it longer this time, but I don’t know. My knee was horrible after I left PT the other day.

Ok, I’m starving so I’d better go search for breakfast. Oh, and snacks? Salty, sweet, salty, sweet, salty, sweet…. Heavy on the chocolate.

Morning all!
I got a really good night’s sleep, which is unusual for me the first night in a hotel. (Mel helped.) I forced myself not to nap yesterday and was completely out by 9:30 pm. I got up to pee once - wasn’t even midnight - and that was it. Got down to the breakfast room over an hour before we were scheduled to meet, so fast has been broken and I’m relaxing with a second cup of coffee and feeling ready to get the work week started.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 55 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 83 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today is laundry day. Be still my heart. Sup shall be tacos 'n fixin’s with beans and rice. Fart fest to follow.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Decent sleep, waking at a reasonable hour, so a good start. It’s cool out and I’m hoping to play in the dirt for a while - I have some plants to move so I can expand my veggie patch. But that will be after I empty the dishwasher and put the dining room back together.

Last night, one of the front window cranks broke, and I’m not sure we can fix it. I was able to lock it, so there’s that. FCD will have a go at the mechanism at some point. It’s 14 years old, so I suppose it’s time for it to die. Dammit. Always something. Especially when I don’t have a winning lottery ticket to back it up. Dammit.

Such is life. Happy Tuesday!!

Woke up to high winds this morning. We left a window open last night, as it’s been quite warm here lately, so the place was freezing. Turned the heat back on. We’ve got some heavy rain moving our way later today.

The cat is fed and I’m just waiting for milady to stir before tackling breakfast. Gotta make a grocery run, as I’m making jambalaya to feed the niece later today.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 10c/50f with no predicted change, and scattered showers. Weather app says “It’s fucking raining, and Mother Nature gives zero fucks.” It’s not raining here right now, but not long after 'im indoors decided to go to the gym, it heaved down so I hope he had either made it there already or found some shelter!

I was up reasonably early to do feline tums and bums, then put the last bits of recycling out and hauled the biiiiiiiig bin to the kerb for collection. The bin men looked in mine very briefly and put it on the truck, then poked around in next door’s bin, pulled out a large plastic plant pot with its base, a kettle and what looks like a frisbee, put them on the front path, and then emptied the rest of their bin. I have since been out to haul the biiiiiiiiig back to where it usually lives.

Had breakfast, faffed with work things, went to a union meeting, voted for more strike action then polished my halo while I was sorting out lunch.

The dining room is back to normal - I even popped the remaining balloons. Dishwasher is emptied. I’m showered and dressed. MIL is still abed - once she wakes, I’ll tend to her morning routine, then go outside and start dealing with the garden mess. Meanwhile, I’ll read a bit.

Cottage cheese scooped up with Ruffles potato chips… :yum:

Morning all, 72F here (Texas) with thunderstorms predicted. I’m annoyed because if I watch* the morning news with the Missus, I’ll have to listen to the weather-doomers try to spin this as an apocalyptic disaster complete with precision-guided ball-lightning, mass flooding, and random sinkholes. Sigh.
*I’ve agreed to sit quietly and watch one round of news each morning.

I’m selling my boat this Spring, having agreed to use the money for house upgrades. Still waiting for mizPullin to get to the sad part. So far, all that’s happening is measuring the kitchen and looking at paint colors. She’s holding up well, but I’m sure she’ll collapse any day now. On the plus side, negotiations regarding a replacement “man cave” are progressing well. It will be much nicer and I can’t fall off of it (which happened twice with the boat).

Former EMS here. I can be pretty unpleasant regarding seatbelts also.

Got to have dinner with Pullin-son and his SO last night. Was a lot of fun to see them and visit and catch up. He just returned from the Sun-N-Fun expo last week, having traveled there with friends in a 70 year old restored airplane. As expected, he was jazzed and excited about the trip.

I really need to keep up.

I really really need to keep up.

Oh well, on to the day. Hope everyone has a good week!

Morning all. Slept well and no new rodents trapped, so hopefully that incursion is over. Still checking around to see if I can figure out how they got in, with an attached garage it is not impossible so I may look around that area closer. Have broken fast and with the day heading for 75F and N.O.S., should be a fine time…for nothing much. Am coaching soccer with the 7 year olds today,. first time this month the weather has been nice on Tuesday which is our ‘assigned’ practice day.

Also managed to make my annual Medical checkup appointment on-line, it’s for 1 May at 10:00am. Think I have also firmed up my vacation plans, now all I have to do is go on-line and see if I can book stuff for the days I’ve chosen.

VanGo, Dunkin is not a bad place to start (I am a Krispy Kreme donut fan myself). Hope the day moves along quickly.

JtC, I restrict myself to 1 small bag of chips on Monday with my Jersey Mike’s sammich, and do not buy chips or cookies anymore for home use as, like you, I have no self-control. Am trying little (100 calorie) pretzel bags and so far have limited myself to 2 per day–we’ll see how long that lasts…

Sari, glad you were well enough to make it to the dog park. Appendages still crossed that the shot isn’t too bad.

Sticky Buns, given your emotional state, having MusicMan go inside was probably the best compromise possible. Good luck with the hoard of phones.

Cookie, hope you can get the groceries before the rains come. I’ve raced more that a couple of storms doing that…sometimes you win, sometimes you get soaked…

boo fae, I love how the bin men there react to the wrong stuff in the bins.

yanker, I know what you mean by local weatherman. Whenever there is the barest chance of a tornado within 100 miles of here, all the local channels go crazy and cover it wall-to-wall. I guess on reflection that isn’t a bad thing, considering what tornadoes can do, but it can be irritating at times. Good luck on the mancave negotiations.

Alrighty, need to send a couple e-mails out and finish the morning internettin’, then may go to the gym early as Champions’ League soccer is on at 2pm local. Have a good 2sday all.

'STuesday. My long day. Seven hours of teaching, three hours of rehearsal, and driving. For some reason Tuesday has also been the day that stressful real estate things happen.

It’s been too warm lately, which means storms! Yay. I like storms. But right now I want no storms because what I don’t need right now is for a tree to fall on my house three weeks before we close. Last summer there was a massive storm that blew through and knocked a big branch onto our roof. Left a hole and we had a rain fountain in our dining room. That is not a thing I need to deal with right now. If almost certainly won’t happen, but I am a catastrophizer (I don’t know if that’s actually a word). It is really driving my wife batty right now.

Good news! I have the day off. Bad news! I’m having a tooth prepped for a crown.

Between the SSLAWs breaking down, and the late air it was a longish day. Which makes me happy.

Spot was a feral(probably for not more than 30 minutes juging by his hunting skills). The do “TNR”(trap, neuter, release) on ferals to keep the population down, and they clip the tip off of the left ear, so they don’t keep slicng open the same cat.

(gratuitous Spot pic, showing clipped ear)

Dentist: “You need a crown!”
Flyboy: “I know, right?” :crown:
But hope it goes well.

Sorry you and MusicMan had to deal with the mess, sticky. But hope you can get into the phones.

I’ve been doing battle with taxes for 3X days and must have have missed the end of the party balloon story-was MIL able to blow up the balloons? Of all the piddly things for mybeleagued brain to wonder about, but there it is.

I’m interested in the body composting thing too, so please let us know @JaneDoe42.

With the help of a kind and gentle friend who is adept with computers (he’s only 50), got my taxes done last evening. The feds acknowledged receipt, still waiting on the staties to admit they received it. They were that way last year too. Every penny of my refund is going to pay off a dental crown before the tow truck and greasy goons show up to repossess it.
