(Old) Make Me Proud! In the MMP

I’m still grumbling after church this morning. Not about the service, that was fine. But about what has happened to one of our members.

Her house burned yesterday. She’s our music director and was sad to lose her piano. But what happened last night is even worse. Of course the family stayed elsewhere, and sometime in the night someone came to the damaged property and looted stuff that was left. So she also lost most of her other instruments she said. Plus other stuff. That is so low. I’m sure she has insurance but that won;t replace family treasures. The congregation will be generous I’m sure but I wish I could turn back time, and if not save the house at least catch the @#$%^& that skimmed through what was left.

It’s almost 60 F outside and three days ago it was well below zero here. It’s amazing how much snow has melted on the ground in just the last twelve hours.

For supper this evening I’m going to make pizza. I like doing that sometimes, so I can get exactly what I want on it.

My sister has been telling me about some more genealogical discoveries she’s been making. She has had contact with a very distant relation online, from Germany, that provided some links to church records from the earlier 1800’s. Sis knows a little German but still has trouble with the style of handwriting used, but she’s very pleased to have gotten two new names, a couple that would be four greats grandparents. I forget the name of the town but it used to be German but currently is in Poland. Borders changed a lot.
