People are pushing back, the courts are getting involved, things are happening. You are not alone.

Harry told me that I should avoid doing laundry for a while to lessen the strain on the water system, so I’ll let it pile up for a week. We have three sets of percale sheets I rotate during the week and another set of linen sheets I can use if needed, so I think we will be OK.
I was thinking about it and I’ve been through my own share of natural disasters and must say that this has been the quietest one ever.
There was a named typhoon that hit Okinawa while I was there. The base commander sent all of the planes to Japan and when the typhoon passed, he brought them back. Unfortunately, the typhoon hooked back and wiped them all out. It was a huge mess, but being on a military base, everyone knew everything almost as soon as it happened.
I was in Hawaii when Eva came through and knocked the power out in Waikiki. Everyone knew what was going on then, it was on the radio and people knocked on doors and such. They even had take cover sirens.
Southern CA had several major earthquakes that were covered live and the communication for wildfires was pretty good in AZ. After the flood that wiped Mayer out happened, it was on the news and online.
Flooding here seems to be just another Tuesday as far as folks are concerned. There really isn’t much in the news and hardly anything online. We know a little bit about what is going on through word of mouth and personal observation. It’s kinda like when the forest was on fire during the summer. Nobody seemed to notice and life just went on around it.
I think I’m tired of living in exciting times.
That showed admirable restraint!
18461 8th St. One bathroom for one man and five women. Dad spent a whole lot of time in his garage, LOL!!!
(He did add on a wing that included a large bathroom for the daughters, but they didn’t have an on-suite bathroom until they were in their 60’s.)
I’m glad she’s feeling better and will confess to being rather concerned about your husband being out and about these days. There’s so much ick going around and his immune system isn’t as strong as it could be.
The pic is as fuzzy as my eyes were last night. It was a combination of bad light, bad eyes, good weed and not wanting to get close enough to really see what was on the floor that was the problem. I’ve watched enough horror to know when to not open the door or go up the stairs or touch something, my first response was to run away.
But it was cold outside so my next instinct was to tell all of my imaginary friends about it, LOL!
Dang about your washing machine. It’s good that she will get someone out soon, it would be a horrible shame if he didn’t have the right part and had to schedule another weekday visit.
It sucks that people are losing their jobs, I hope your daughter holds on to hers. And SIL, doesn’t he work on a base?
I’ve had to ration Hubs snacks for years. I will show him the reusable containers and tell him how many he can have each day and he can control his intake from there but otherwise all snack bags are single serving bags that must be eaten all at once.
Like you, I don’t really like it. He’s a grown man, it feels very controlling to tell him how much he can eat.
At least you got some good hard sleep. I’m sure you needed it. So, spill, why is she Sprinkles?
That is just sickening. I am so sorry for her, talk about kicking someone when they are down.
I agree because that’s when all of the little girls get their Easter dresses and don’t want to cover them with heavy jackets and coats. Or that’s how it was when I was a kid.
So not much has been happening around here. Before the last snow, a couple of dogs dragged a dead something into the middle of the across the street neighbor’s yard and rolled on it for a while and then went off to do other dog things. Since then, the ravens have looked at it, a dog that lives back on the other side of the gully looked at it but didn’t roll and the original dogs have come back and looked at it.
It thing must be pretty rancid if the dogs and ravens aren’t interested. I’m going to go over tomorrow and warn them, they can’t see it from their front windows and it won’t be much fun to discover when they start mowing again.
