I just got a new computer (a Mac)… now I want to import all of my emails and address book from my old Mac’s Outlook program into my new Mac’s Outlook program. My problem is that this doesn’t seem to be possible (I’m running Outlook Express 5.02). I can find the “import” function to get the info into my new computer, but I can’t any file on my old harddrive that says inbox or address book. What should I do?
good question. I thought this would be easy but … There is an export contacts on OE, so you could export your old address book on your old mac, and import into your new one. Microsoft hates the thought you might export all its data into a new email programme so makes it as difficult as possible. I have looked and can’t find anywhere it is storing the messages, unless it is into the “internet preferences” file in the preference folder. This file is updated whenever a new message is got, and is suspiciously large (1 M). What is strange is that it is a apple preference, not a microsoft one. Good luck
