(Old) Pole Dancer and Dasher and Comet and Cupid! - A MMP For The Rest Of Us

This is a foolish question, how does one contast a moderator, to ask a question about proper procedure? The forum doesn’t matter, it’s not that kind of a question.

No, not really? I’m shocked!!!

Imgur

That sounds reasonable to me.

I admire your planning. I put my outfits in order in the closet but never thought of hanging the little stuff with them. That was so smart!

I’m not really here, just too bummed to spend any screen time. That’s when I talk to Dr. Google and scare myself again.

Hubs has been coughing a bunch. He says it is because of the oxygen but I’m concerned about his almost un-vaxxed ass being in the hospital. You all know who is in hospitals and ER’s right? SICK people!

His anti-vax mother ended up in the hospital due to the flu and was still recovering from that when they thought they should do heart surgery on her.

That worked about as well as one would expect to happen with a sick 87 year old woman, so then his father ended up in the hospital with the flu and had to be discharged to a nursing home because he couldn’t care for himself.

And that’s when I learned how hard it was to care for a dying old person.

And now Hubs might be there as well because he’s a stupid fuck who only gets his COVID shots updated under duress.

Murder isn’t good enough for him.

I’m not in a good place right now.

The main reason I am posting is to share that someone sent a Doordash driver to our house with a bag full of everything I should not have because they are just too much fun. I haven’t had Maltballs since forever and now I have a big box! There were peanut butter cups and mini-twix bars and some really good chocolate as well.

Thank you so much for the happiness on my doorstep, it really did cheer me up a whole lot!

:people_hugging:
(Will GG and Jolene be getting a new sibling out of this?)

:people_hugging:

Even more hugs.

Happy boxing day!

Irked, dogparked, et some leftovers and am catching up on surfing. Now for the weekend!

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

No, that extortion agreement only covers COVID. We will be discussing flu and RSV and all that other shit once we get to the other side of this.

And then I’ll kill him.

Do you have a specific one in mind? If so, just PM them. Sometimes I’ll report my own post if I think I need help there and the mods are always fast and responsibe.

No, not a specific one, but I have been put in contact with a mod and have asked my question. It’s a thing I hope will be responded to soon, as a Doper, (NOT MYSELF) is in need.

My stepsons have gone back home. My mom had ended up talking to the one, briefly, about the snoring. I had forgotten what he had told us previously. I was wrong. He had one attempt at a sleep study, but couldn’t fall asleep with all the detritus attached. He gave up after that. So, I tried to have a respectful conversation about it. I could tell that my mom thought I said too much*, but I was trying my best to share my concerns.

Now I’m sitting here too lazy to go to bed. Ok, actually I have to make sandwiches for MusicMan’s lunch first and I’m too lazy to do that. Oh, and of course I’m being held down by a poodle and so there’s that, too.

*I told him that two people that I loved very much were no longer with us due to not using a cpap that they needed. There was more, but that’s the part that my mom didn’t like.

Is there a reason to wait a year? Seems like it’s something that can happen any time for any reason… just sayin’…

Just finished watching 2 more episodes of The Tudors - Edward was born and Jane died. New wife next episode, I guess. I don’t recall how long he waited to get #4.

Anyway, time for beddy-bye.

Anne got out of the relationship with her head at least.

So I have yet another leaky pipe in the ceiling. So the removed the plaster, have a tarp guiding the dripping into the sink, and a humidifier going, and still the carpet is wet. But at least I have a Mai Tai, and Smoked Paprika chicken.

Does banging your head against a wall count? {{{{sticky}}}}

Nothing says you can’t pace yourself. And I’d be down for it.

True that.

Yay!

The thought would occur to me if I just got out.
{{{{JtC}}}} for the whole hubs situation.

{{{JtC}}} Hoping the whole thing ends up OK.

coppertone Glad you’re feeling better.

doggio Ooof, leaky pipes above. I trust you and Spot have cover, plus a good supply of dranks and kibble.

Off to the shop tomorrow morning to throw away way too many semi-valuable things. I have more hardware than anyone really should own…5-6 boxes of 1/4-20 and 5/16-18 bolts? Boxes of casters? I had about 30 lbs of BBs. I have a box of 10/24 acorn nuts. The stuff one accumulates over 20 years of building weird crap.

My wardrobe choices are really pretty basic. I wear Levi 501 jeans, Carhartt tee shirts and boots almost every day.

Oh, my gosh, you can tell I was tired because I skipped something. I went to the office about the noise. The manager was not in. A fresh-faced secretary (Maybe 20 years old?) was there. Oh, yes, she said, there’d been an email about the music this morning. I told her my story.

She said, “I’ll call them.” [worried, nervous face] “I guess I’m going to have to be the bad guy.”

Me: “No, no, no, You have to be the baddest bad guy you can imagine. Otherwise they’ll just hug you and crank up the music.”

I told her about the guy directly above playing loud music. She said some company is renting it and apparently using it for a B&B, “which is against the lease.” This has been going on for months. Evict 'em already.

The music and gaming has been loud since shortly after I got home–not as loud as next door was, but loud. Get the d*** speakers off the floor! Anyway, I’m betting she tried to call the company, but nobody was in today, and of course, they don’t have a clue what the policies are here.

I hear you. I haven’t worn pantyhose since I retired 8.5 years ago. My uniform is yoga pants and a tee shirt. I used to tell my students I was in favor of uniforms. Just as they gasped and glared, I’d add: “For teachers. Just teachers. I don’t care if it’s a jumpsuit with my name stitched over the pocket. I just don’t want to choose my clothes every day.”

The one who didn’t used it for bowlin’.

And he looks damn fine doing it! As I can personally attest.

Woohoo! Both COVID negative! Now we can schedule family Christmas (in January). It’s a Second Night of Hanukkah Miracle!

Or you could say it’s Eastern Orthodox Christmas. They will be celebrating on January 5th.

I’ll be sure to point this out so they know I haven’t been replaced by an alien who doesn’t point out this sort of interesting and useful fact!

If that was directed at me, naw, it wasn’t! I had a very sociable Xmas Eve, and spending Xmas Day with just my lazy self & the cat was both 1a.) expected & planned for, and 2b.) quite relaxing.

I got my people-time the day before, and my introvert-time after that to recharge.

Plus, I had presents from my Secret Santa to keep me occupied!

Building staff won’t like that!

No sense waiting, as someone else already said. Hell, I might get hit by a bus or something between now & then.

I’d have done the same.

I LURVE this idea! @dogbutler dooooo ittttttttt, plz.

Truth.

Vent away, he’s being a complete ass.

Awwww, that’s awesome!

So, if I’m following correctly, what you’re saying is … YOU’RE GETTING A PONY?!?!!

Oh, jeebus.

Man, were we busy tonight. I figured, people got tons of leftovers to eat, we should be slow … but NOPE! Lots of multi-pizza orders (including one for 8 larges for over $200) so I guess people still have family in town to feed.

Something twinged in my lower back earlier and is stubbornly refusing to un-twinge. I just had a sneezing fit and yelped from the pain.

Got as far as googling “stretches f…” and Google very helpfully was like, “Stretches for lower back pain?”
Yes, Google. Thank you.

Was supposed to be early-out tonight, but one of the other gals didn’t feel well and asked me to close for her.
I hadn’t really eaten much on my break since I was expecting to be home in a coupla hours, so initially I told her no.
But after a few moments of being grumpy about it in the walk-in, I changed my mind.

Lost a day the other week, and we all lost a day this week due to the holiday (plus I remembered my emergency Mac’n’Chz cup in my locker & my emergency pudding cup in the walk-in) so … I closed.
The slight pay bump will be good later, but man does my back ache now.

Gonna nuke something Stouffers flavored, maybe murder a few JtC husbands zombies, and go stretch on my bed. And then flop down onto it.

Imma start with the stretches shown here, but if anyone has suggestions or recommendations, I’m all for it.
… matter of fact, I may start a thread later asking the wider Doperverse …

Meatloaf and mashed N.O.T. with a pat of butter for extra nutrition.
Spoonful of Nutella for dessert.

Was responsible enough to remember a multivitamin, to slather my face with lotion, and am in bed before 3 a.m. with my alarm for tomorrow already set.

Go, me!

Stretching shall ensue.

It was a soggy-rainy evening and still sounds all drippy outside my window, so I forsee relatively sound sleep punctuated by pee breaks.

Good night - or soon, good morning - to y’all.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Having a mid-week holiday has totally screwed up my sense of time - I wake up thinking there will be a new MMP. Nope, not yet.

Plans for today - Food Lion, as soon as I shower and dress, laundry sometime, load the dishwasher (been ignoring the dirties for the last coupla days), and maybe turn off the pellet stove and let it cool so I can de-ash it. I also want to call the Holiday Inn where we’re staying next month and find out how early an early check-in can be. It’s about a 3 anna half hour drive and I’d like to time our drive to get there when they’ll take us. I should also call the orthopedist office for an appointment - I need to know if my sore shoulder is just a frozen shoulder or something else (more serious?)

A relief yesterday - TX SIL got the inheritance checks. USPS tracking wasn’t really helpful - it jumped from Gaithersburg, MD to Austin with no updates on expected delivery, tho I did get a text when it was delivered, both from USPS and TX SIL. Anyway, glad the checks are in her hands (one for her, one for her son) - one more estate chore complete.

We need to go to the credit union and get MIL’s name off our joint account and cancel her credit card. FCD also needs to go to Navy Federal Credit Union and cancel that account. They only opened it because at the time, they offered the best rate on a CD. But all that’s left there is the $5 required to maintain an account. And I think the last thing he has to do is contact FIL’s retirement account folks and have them stop the payout. And that should be it. She had no life insurance.

The last of her personal property is the remnants of a 12-piece set of Wedgwood china that might have enough pieces for 7 settings, plus assorted extras. I don’t do china and even if I did, I don’t particularly like the pattern. I was thinking to contact a B&B or tea room or something. I can’t throw it out and it’s far too delicate to donate (it’d end up broken if sent to a thrift store.) For the moment it’s in boxes in the basement. I’ll figure out something.

Rain is predicted to start tonight and last thru Sunday night. And that all the news that’s fit to print from Southern Merrylande!

Happy Firday!
