(Old) Pole Dancer and Dasher and Comet and Cupid! - A MMP For The Rest Of Us

Merry Christmas eve, all!

The weather must be doing something, cuz my bum knee is barking.

Hope y’all have a fun and calm X-mas.

That’s so when people filter by price (low → high) the product bubbles up higher in the search results and is more likely to be clicked on.

Me too. hippy that’s gorgeous stuff!

Looks done to me …

I didn’t get around to the brie puffs but am planning them for breakfast tomorrow. Right now I’m still too stuffed to do more than nibble a single one of mom’s Christmas cookies & sip my tea.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, my friend’s nephew, his wife, and their one-year old were also there, so we got the requisite amount of small-child wonderment at the ornaments, the thrill of ripping up wrapping paper, all that cute stuff.

Little man toddled right up to my friend, looked her adoringly in the eyes, and just as she was absolutely melting … stole the biscuit right off her plate & stuffed it in his mouth!

Plus, to my utter surprise while little man was plowing through his pile o’gifts from grandma, my friend’s sister tossed a wrapped package in my lap.

“I wasn’t expecting anything!”
“Oh, I always have extra shit lying around.” (The woman is, ah, no-nonsense and quite salty.)

Anyway, it was perfect for me: a pair of fingerless mittens (necessary so I can still handle cash & poke buttons on the POS screen at work) plus they’re suuuuuuper silky soft feeling!

There were no cats, but two very friendly dogs (a sweet, elderly long-haired little Chihuahua mix? that liked snuggles, and an extremely enthusiastic also-one-year-old lab mix with the typical grown-puppy energy) live there, so that added to the festive atmosphere.

That, and my friend works in the grow room at a dispo, so between that & the peanut butter whiskey, I was one LIT little shoe this afternoon.
Gods, we were all laughing like hyenas.

One hour till Christmas.
I think I’ll open one of my Secret Santa gifts at the stroke of midnight - my version of “Midnight Mass” I guess.
(My S.S. sent me a bunch of little gifts, so I’ve been having fun opening one here & there, like an advent calendar.)

The egg rolls were thai, the tamales were DR.

It’s been a very long but wonderful day celebrating Wigilia and I need to get to bed. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say to shoe and any others of Polish descent:

Wesolych Swiat! :candle:

Three and a half hours here. I suspect Mrs. L.A. will put my prezzies out in the middle of the night. I don’t know if I should put hers out, or wait until I get up to urinate.

Dziekuje serdecznie, i Wesolych Swiat dla Ciebie tez!

Wow. Just wow. I really like the corner fabric.

My great-grandmother’s table always had 13 at it for holiday dinners. Wasn’t always the same 13, but it was always 13. My grandmother (her daughter) was always tickled pink if her holiday table had 13.

I made croissants once and thought it was an incredible amount of work. And you’re making them alongside pie. You come by your user name honestly.

I’m guessing that video’s going to be saved for later viewing, such as a 21st birthday or wedding?

Sorry about hubby’s health, but I expect the fuzzbutts will be happy you’re staying home.

Sounds yummy. Glad nephew’s home for the holidays.

Well, Christmas is already here. Woke up at 4 something and gave up and made myself tea and munching on candy cane Jelly Belly jelly beans. Impulse buy at the mall yesterday. (What was I thinking, going to the mall on Christmas Eve.)

Today’s breakfast is french toast with bacon, orange juice and lattes. Lunch will be steak and potatoes au gratin. Dinner will be salad and clementines. And there will be cookies.

Merry Christmas! :christmas_tree:

Mrs. L.A. has requested pancakes for breakfast. I’ll make her Krusteaz pancakes with real Grade B maple syrup, and I’ll have low-carb pancakes that taste almost, but not quite, totally unlike pancakes with sugar-free imitation maple syrup. I’ll have a couple of over-easy eggs, and we’ll both have bacon. I don’t know… It’s Christmas. Maybe I’ll have bacon and a sausage patty!

I’m retired, but it was my profession for over thirty five years.

Except that not having a mailbox wouldn’t be such a huge problem, if not for the fact that they didn’t even ship until days past the time when the package should have arrived. Okay, tell me you’ve got a supply-chain issue, and I can either settle in to wait, or ask for a refund and find some other source. There’d still be the issue with the address, but I wouldn’t have already been chewing glass. I don’t think they’re trying to burn me, but I’m not impressed with their professionalism.

  Where did I go, today?

I’m glad to hear he’s getting some help for that, and I’m sure he’ll enjoy some time at home chilling out with Trevor

That’s a shame, I hope he feels well enough to enjoy his day, whatever your plans.

hippie more beautiful work there, I am envious of your skills!

It’s actually The Wellington, but nobody ever calls it that  Ever since I’ve been living here, it’s been The Welly

That’s an impressive list of things to have come out of your kitchen - I think you definitely deserve a lie down!

That was my plan on Monday - do the grocery run, pick up everything essential on my slightly longer than usual list, and then not go near a supermarket for a week.

What a lovely idea! I bet they looked beautiful.

Lovely scenery! I’ve done a little bit of that route - we stayed in Stateline/South Lake Tahoe a few years ago and had a day with very little to do so we took ourselves out to explore a bit. We stayed in Truckee overnight once, and did a bit of driving around that area, most of the other times we’ve been through Truckee, it’s been by train.

Yesterday was a proper day of slothage - aside from tending to the cats, I didn’t do much at all. We watched “Smile 2” in the afternoon, and “Carry-On” after dinner in the evening, and I was in bed by 11pm. Today I was up by 8am to give the cats their breakfast and make sure Shadow got his meds at a reasonably hour. I’ve washed and dried my hair, peeled veg for dinner later and I’m about to write down my timings for today’s feast since I’m cooking it. We don’t eat until evening so lunch will be foraged from the fridge. We have leftovers from last night so that will work for sandwiches or wraps if that’s what we feel like.

Happy Christmas Day, if you celebrate…happy Wednesday if you don’t celebrate, and Happy Whatever Else if you’re celebrating something different!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 37 Amurrkin out mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 62 and cloudy. The big item on today’s agenda is the big feast. Six of us will gather around eleven for champagne and munchies. The feast will begin at one p.m. With any luck everyone will be gone by three p.m. We are gracious hosts, but we do have our limit.

JtC sorry hubs is not up to the family gatherin’. However, as others have said, the fuzzbutts will be happy to have their hoomans around.

Everyone else enjoy your day whatever you are doin’.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I shall purtify and don attire suitable for entertainin’. Then preparations for the big feast shall begin.

Happy Hump Day Y’all! Merry Christmas! Happy/Joyful/Merry everything else bein’ celebrated!

Merry Christmas to everyone and thank you all for the kind comments on my quilting hobby.

Ho ho ho and all that jazz!!! :santa: Up early for my quiet computer time before I have to get ready for the trek up north of Baltimore (Timonium, for those who know the area.) Apart from showering and that stuff, I need to transfer the kids’ seats from my car to the Santa Fe, which wouldn’t be a big deal, except they have to go into the 3rd row, and climbing in is an adventure for me and pretty much impossible for FCD. But I’ve done it before and Hyundai modified the location of the connection points for car seats so they’re more accessible than the ones in my Sonata.

I also need to remember to take the deviled egg kits and the gifts for the game. And the books I’m lending to my mom. And maybe something else - I dunno.

Daughter sent me a photo last night - her MIL gave the whole family matching jammies! That woman LURVES to shop, especially for clothes for the kids. She gets ticked off if Daughter buys clothes without letting her know that they needed them. So Roxy and Tobias are always well-dressed and well-shod. I can’t imagine what she thinks of me, because when the kids were little, I’d shop at the thrift store. I couldn’t see spending a lot on outfits that they’d outgrow in 20 minutes! We each have our own outlook I guess.

We’re promised a chilly, mostly overcast but precip-free day. I’m going to wear my Santa T-Rex sweater because it’s kinda season-specific and it’s warm. We’ll leave here by 10 (2 hour drive and bro doesn’t want anyone there before noon) and I expect we’ll get home by dark, not that it matters a lot since I’m not driving.

If I was a nicer grandmother, I’d let the kids spend the night since I’m wrangling them tomorrow, but I’m pretty sure I’ll want them gone by the time we get home. I know FCD will be ready for quiet. I think I’ll take them to St. Clement’s Island Museum for the doll and train exhibit. It’s closer than the marine museum and I think they’ll enjoy it. Heck - FCD might even want to go. I guess I have a plan.

Onward! And a Merry Christmas or Happy Wednesday or Jolly Mid-week to all!

HAPPY APPROPRIATE SEASONAL CELEBRATION!!!

I’m up(despite Spot’s best efforts), caffeinated, and sheveled. Sloth is on the agenda today.

Sorry Hubs can’t make the family gathering, JtC.

Less triggering for the Bonaparte family that way.

I’m showered, shampooed, and dressed, including the Santa T-Red sweater. Just finished putting the seats in the back of the Santa Fe - one must be just short of a contortionist to do that - eeeesh. I also stuck a note on the door so I wouldn’t forget the deviled egg stuff. Daughter should be here in an hour or so.

So far, traffic is light with no backups, but it is early yet. We have to go around both the DC and Baltimore beltways - east side outer loop in DC and west to north inner loop around Baltimore, unless we decide to go past the Inner Harbor then up the Jones Falls Expressway. I guess we’ll figure that out eventually.

For now, I have a little time to chill and make sure I’ve remembered everything.

Happy Wednesday, everybody! (It’s not even 0830 yet – why am I up so early?)

Thanks for the Billy Connolly earworm…

One of these, perhaps?

Note the oversized boxes on the bottom row of each set…

Merry Christmas, one and all!

It’s 38F and mostly cloudy at the moment. We’re expecting “weather” at daybreak. It’s supposed to rain most of the day, with half an inch of accumulation. It’s also supposed to be gusty today, with a high temperature of 47F. The coast and Johnny’s area will feel the weather more than my part of the region, and much snow is expected up in the mountains.

I am taking some quiet time before the day begins. My son arrived yesterday afternoon, and both the pups are properly worn out.

I await reports of the grandkids’ package opening and hope they’ll enjoy the gifts we sent them.

I’ll probably put the roast in the oven around one afternoon. It always cooks faster than I think it will, even using the 20-minute-per-pound calculation, so I’m waiting an additional hour today. I’m sure my son and husband will have a great time playing their VR games together, and there will be many doggy wrasslin’ sessions.

I imagine we’ll open presents when my son and husband are up and have some coffee. I bought new stuffies for the pups too, and have put them in stockings.

JtC, I’m sorry your husband can’t make the family gathering. I hope he’s feeling better today.

I posted a pic of Buster next to the tree on the Book o’ Faces yesterday. Buster wishes you a Merry Christmas

Hippy, that is very nice work.

Okay, I need some more caffeine and Buster and Maisie need some breakfast.
