Will you get videos? My daughter sends me videos of all events, major and minor.
I woke feeling absolutely awful, I can’t remember feeling so bad.
Took 2 acitomenaphin and lied back down. Got up all sweaty, feeling a bit better. I had to shower cause to get the toxins off.
Had a jello cup and now water.
Merry Krimble.
Had a good time at the daughter’s place yesterday. I always laugh my hardest when we are all together. Good to see at least some of the grandkids. And my ex showed up! We didn’t speak, of course. The eldest and his wife gave us a huge bag of Christmas goodies, most of which I really can’t eat, as I’d be in a sugar coma. I’ll probably give most of it away to the building staff. Some nice 10-year old cheddar in there, though.
I receive videos sometimes, but not always. I expect my daughter and SiL to be busy being in the moment, which I can appreciate. It’s not always easy to remember to take a picture or video anyway; they spent so long living near us so we could participate, so it’s a whole new reality now.
Still nice and quiet here. The pups have broken their morning fast. I think I’ll peruse real estate and tear apart bad floor plans or paint colors. Good LORD, do I see some stupid floor plans!
Good morning and Merry Christmas. Don’t have to be at Brother’s until 10:30am since they are at church and I’m the heathen, so slept in and am waiting the proper length of time until my morning medication takes hold (one has to be on an empty stomach) then will see what the hotel offers and muck about until it’s time to visit. Cool again with temps in the 40’sFm but not unpleasant.
Hope that everyone has a good and quiet day today, take care and enjoy.
And decor!! What are some people thinking?!?!?
Based on your post, I just took a look see. There’s a picture of Doggio’s pole from 2017.
Went for a walk as the weather’s relatively comfortable. Just below freezeing and overcast. The sun came out when we got back home and then I made skillet potatoes and steak. Hubby made lattes and they’ll be some cookies in our future. And the Doctor Who Christmas special, of course.
What a handsome boy!
Merry Christmas and a happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate!
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and ready to do KP. Other than putting things in the oven, I’m just going to laze around until Penny and her dad get here for dinner.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Up stoopit early again (it’s barely 10 o’clock!) just like yesterday. What kind of non-day-off-acting crap is that?!?
However, unlike yesterday I don’t have any time-sensitive plans for today, so any future nappage today should remain uninterrupted.
Second year in a row we’re not having a white Christmas.
Again I sayeth unto thee, what kind of crap is that?!?
Once I ferrealz get up, I’ll get those brie puff pastries started, and open another of my Secret Santa items.
Sometime later, I’ll roast the little hen, with baby carrots and lotsa onions and whole garlic. I think there might be some potatoes rolling around, maybe not, guess I shoulda checked earlier, ah well, too late now.
Oh, and speaking of rolling around, there are rolls in the freezer to go with - thanks again to B.B.BOO for the recommendation!
But for now, I think imma roll back over and see if I drift back off for a bit …
A quarter 'til eight, and Mrs. L.A. is still abed. I did put her prezzies out at about 0300.
What a beautiful quilt! I love those colors!
Okay I give up - what does RDOS stand for?
I’ve got family in Alton - is that near where you’re at? Beautiful area, particularly during the fall.
I laughed - and what a horrible thing to subject yourself to on Christmas!
Taters Buster is a very handsome pupper!
Coppertone that sounds miserable - hopefully this is the last bad day.
Merry Christmas everyone. My family got together yesterday so today will be quiet and chill. Well, that’s probably not true - I’ll be staying at my sister’s house tonight to take care of their four dogs while they’re out of town. They’re all Stage 5 Clingers so anytime you sit down somewhere you end up under a pile of dogs. And one dog has to be kept completely separate from the others as she will literally try to kill them. So that’s not gonna be stressful at all.
And I’m jealous of those who get to enjoy snow on Christmas! I’m too far south, we very rarely have snow this early in winter. Mother Nature instead decided we needed yet another overcast day, but at least it included rain which we badly need.
I made scarmbled eggs, hash browns, and sauteed asparagus fro breakfast. Spot had some lunchmeat.
Retired Drain On Society
Sounds like more than a few human families. Good luck!
AWWWWWWWW!!!
How should I celebrate? Corned beef on rye with some Christmas cookies?
My body told me it was time to take a break today and so Annie and I are chilling for a bit. It about an hour I’m going to jump up and get back to work again.
JtC I hope your husband feels better soon.
Coppertone, I hope you feel better soon, too.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Due to my cold I called my cousin and told her I wouldn’t be at the family thing today. As a kid I would get a sore throat and one year chicken pox for Christmas break. Looks like a throw back this year.
My throat is a bit less sore, the icky factor is still the same. The cats and I are cozied up to the heater. A Christmas story and die hard are on the agenda.

Merry Christmas / Happy First Night of Hanukkah
/ Happy Kwanzaa Eve
/ Etc.!
This morning I opened the last door of the Swarovski advent calendar: today’s item is a final wagon for the train (link to album). I’m quite pleased with all 25 items, and will display two of them (the owl and the rabbit) year-round in my curio cabinet, but I don’t think I’ll feel the need to splurge on this calendar again any time soon (bonus or not)! I like the advent calendar thing, though…maybe next year’s will be Lego.
To my relief, I don’t feel any worse today. Not really any better, but I will load up on Tylenol Sinus and this afternoon’s dinner with dad and bro is definitely on. I’m a little apprehensive, though, because last night I took a look at the restaurant’s web site and they have a special holiday menu – which I’m sure neither of them is aware of – that includes nothing I can imagine either of them being inclined to eat. They’re both quite picky and prefer very simple food, but Dad went and picked a fancy Italian place that no one’s ever been to before and now there’s a limited, fancy holiday menu where there’s at least one thing “wrong” with every item (e.g., lasagna with veal instead of beef). My hope is that the regular menu will also be available for them. Maybe they’ll both surprise me, but dinner could be interesting.
Last night was an acceptable Chrismas Eve, with viewings of Trading Places and Die Hard and two kinds of emotional support Pepperidge Farm. I think I’m single-handedly keeping the tissue industry going, though: the CVS I’ll pass on the way home from dinner is open until 8pm, and I’ll need to stop in to get more.
At some point later I’ll probably watch Lethal Weapon, to complete my Christmas movie trifecta. I also might start undecorating already: all of the Lego holiday sets will be disassembled and stored in Ziploc bags until next year, and it takes more time than you’d think so I might get started on that this evening. Maybe even while I watch Lethal Weapon.
!
I won’t be paying, but I always tip well. Very well, actually. Even more so at the holidays. The service would have to be truly abysmal (and 100% the server’s fault) for me not to; we’re talking to the point where I’d feel the need to say something to management. Which I don’t think has ever happened.
I gotta ask, though: do you really think that telling another adult to tip well would make them do it if they weren’t already so inclined? Like they might just forget, or something? Do you imagine me sitting here thinking “well I usually only tip 10%, but since JtC said something…”?
! I actually do have a minifig of myself – from a “bricks and brews” event last month – but the White House model is too small and the scale doesn’t work. Maybe I could put myself next to it like Godzilla, though?? LOL!
(and thank you!)
A sign of a good party.
Nice!!
…
(I’m so glad that my dad and brother will be dealing with 695/95/495 today and not me!!)
Awwww!
Ugh.
LOL! I often surf the real estate listings my area to see what’s available and what prices are like, and I love to snark at the bad writing/spelling (“stainless steal appliances”).
I…I’m not old enough to have seen that picture.
I approve!
The answer was not so much “Yes” as “And HOW.”
I’m up now, though, contemplating my thoroughly diminished booze supply and wondering why the hell I didn’t procure reinforcement yesterday. I don’t know if ANYwhere that sells hooch is open today, but imma go drive around and find out.
It’s a relatively balmy 36 F, almost all the snow has melted away, and the Oracles predict rainy mid-40s weather in a coupla days.
How very festive.
We took a drive around town after an early morning hike, and it looked like almost the only places that were open were hooch-sellers. They must do a lot of business today. The very few other places that were open were gas stations, a couple of taquerias, and one Starbucks.
Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope you have a nice feast later today. We’re having rack of lamb, cheesy stuffed potatoes, and steamed brussels sprouts. Dessert is Haagen Dazs ice cream bars.
Have I ever told y’all why MusicMan is called MusicMan?
Well, as the story goes - I’ll try to keep it short - he is autistic and as some people who are autistic have a special gift of some sort, his is music. He sings beautifully and if his family had been educated about autism and treated him well instead of treating him so very poorly, then perhaps things would have been very different for him. Honestly, in another life he could have been famous.
Since we’ve been together I have done as much as I could to right their wrongs. I’ve encouraged his music endeavors in so many different ways. That includes his beautiful music room and whatever kind of equipment that he wanted.
I’m talking about this because today while he was upstairs in his music room tidying and rearranging things, a closed can of pop fell and split open and rained down on his main keyboard which is an 88 key setup, just like a piano. Unfortunately it appears that it is beyond repair. He is very mad at himself and I’m just supplying hugs as needed.
I realize that it could have been worse. It’s not an object that is necessary for living, but it’s something that he uses when he opens up and pours out his heart and soul. I’m sincerely hoping that he’s wrong and some expert somewhere will be able to fix it.
Ok, enough of my blah. In about 45 minutes I’ll put the ham in the oven and get started on dinner.
Aw. Those things happen.
I feel less crappy. The sweating helped. Still have the cough. Will try some hot tea.
