(Old) Rainy Days and Mondays in the MMP

Very cute, FCM!

He’s getting it done before you give him a fresh box

I hope you start feeling at least goodish by the time you have to go to work. Good luck!

Hubs wants to go out for a nice steak dinner so we will be heading out shortly. I’m not a big fan, but steakhouses always have shrimp or fish options.

He has all of our bills on auto pay and I have a list of all of his passwords and account numbers just in case. When he had the quad, I didn’t have those and it was a nightmare trying to deal with all of that on top of caring for him.

Last time this happened, his blood work showed him actively having a heart attack but this procedure isn’t as urgent, so I probably won’t need his passwords, but they are good to have anyhow. We know each other well enough to be able to guess passwords fairly easily, but I’d rather not have to.

I have been able to distract myself by focusing on a letter from AZ Unemployment saying that my claim in 2022 had been disapproved and that I owed them all of the payments I had received. That would be ick by itself…but I didn’t file for UI in 2022 and I did not receive any payments from them.

Our bank records won’t work to prove the lack of payments because AZ unemployment goes on a bank card. I’ve typed up an appeal, but I want to wait until tomorrow to read it again before I hit submit.

While baking cookies always makes the world a little happier, did your doctor say you should be on your feet that long?

I’m glad your ankle is improving, but you shouldn’t push it.

Well, dang. There’s only so much time-wasting shopping you can do there.

Please do. I know that he has heart issues, and I could tell that he was pretty short of breath lately, but he just blamed it on his weight while refusing to do anything about the problem. The shock of learning that he hadn’t been telling me about what was going on is the main reason I’m going to murderize him when this is all over.

I loved both classes and it made me sad that I could only pick one per semester. That was back when Jr. High kids were given sand molds, old pistons and a forge for melting lead and aluminum. It was amazing that none of us burned off a toe or two.

Hubs wants to go out and pick up rocks before we leave for dinner. I feel the need to go and help him. He better not get used to this!

Oh, he always immediately christens a fresh one.

… which he now has, by the way, AND I remembered to refill his water bowl, AND took out the icky trash from sick day.

I’m already winded! And yawning again. It will probably be a “nap in the car” kind of break.

Not looking forward to standing for however many hours.

But the house is marginally cleaner, I am significantly cleaner, and my lunch (plus a bonus bag of gummy bears to give myself a sweet treat now & then) are hanging on the door so I won’t forget.

Best I can do as far as prep.

JtC no baking today. Probably next weekend. Homemade cookies would not last long at Casa de Peedin.

I’m praying for you and hubby that everything is A-OK.

If you’re ever concerned about that, there’s a website that lists all money, gifts, free food, etc. given to doctors and their offices by drug and medical device companies. https://openpaymentsdata.cms.gov/

I was (pleasantly) surprised at how little my doctor has received, and seems to be mostly from food delivered to his office.

Picked up the stuff to make mince tarts (sans meat), except for the frozen pie dough. The only ones they carry are pre-formed into pie shape. Past experience has shown me that if you try to flatten them, they just break. I used to get rolled up pie dough at our local bakery in Portland. I can make it; it’s just an additional PITA to go through.

This is just a side project, unrelated to the current quilt. We had a chance to take a class in Foundation Paper Piecing and this is the project that cam out of it. I plan to put it under the glass on that table:

Very lovely!

I’ve been way to busy to participate lately (maybe I’ll catch everyone up in a week or two), but I’m lurking, and it seems to me some cute kitty pics may be needed. Here are Chloe and Zoe, respectively, looking adorable:

That just sent me down a rabbit hole. Apparently, my PCP doesn’t brown bag it. On the plus side, food and beverages are the only things listed for him.

That will be a lovely table topper.

The apartment is cleaneded, laundry done, groceries bought and supper et. Now for playtime in the studio.

Howdy Y’all! Useless were we today. I did manage to walk all the way down to the mailbox and back however. Nappage helped me to recover. We et and then watched a movie on Netflix about Judy Garland. Two gay men watched a movie about Judy Garland. Stop the presses! Surely this is a sign of the apocalypse.

Up from naptime, having an Aviation, watching hockey, and drying clothes.
Also, happy Friday The 13th!

Hippie, nifty!

My bum knee is not liking this single digit weather.

And a good evening all. Most of the afternoon was spent doing gym stuff, set a personal best of 2,500 yards swimming in one go (took about 90 minutes) and then sat in the jacuzzi for some time to recuperate, then a little treading and cycling to finish out the day. Have had my big bowl O’Salad and will have a late meal when I finish this to keep my calorie count good. Another day of indoor soccer tomorrow, start at 8am and finish around 3pm so that should keep me out of trouble for most of the day. Still 44F here and only falling to 41F for the night, so the heating unit should have a fairly easy night.

FCM, I do try and clean, but doubt my carpet would pass inspection. Still, better thN Ex-SIL. Loved the pics, obviously Tobster chooses when he wants to perform, and this wasn’t it–but he sure knows where that camera is, doesn’t he?

Shoe, hope that work isn’t to hectic and you make it back more-or-less alive.

Sticky Buns, appendages crossed that your message is read and understood as it is supposed to be. And a couple extra {{{hugs}}} since you seem to need them.

BBBoo, excellent advice to lucky, nice to have a professional to advise us.

doggio, that cat does love tormenting you…

Cookie, hope wife unit’s ears clear up (once you get the prescription filled).

Well, have you looked at yourself when you first wake up in the morning?

JtC, so let me get this straight; the state of Arizona wants money from you that they never sent you? That should be fun straightening out… And hope the rock=picking was fun.

52, that’s an interesting site. According to it my Doc got about $1,300 in food for the year, so I doubt that’s enough to overly influence him.

Hippie, that looks real nice and using it as you describe sounds like a great idea,.

Wheelie, don’t know if I’m happy or sad you’re so busy, hopefully happy in that your working steady and the paychecks are happy, too. And more cute kitty-cats!!

VanGo, hope the knee (and the weather) start behaving better.

Welp, need to get some more calories in me to digest before bedtime and finish the Firday You Tube Marathon, so take care all and I’ll see you sometime Saturday.

FWIW, my knees are fine and I don’t like single digit weather either! At the risk of jinxing it, we’ve not dropped below the low 20s… yet…

Training for a triathlon??

Well, we were sitting in the front row - he couldn’t miss us!

I’ve started a new blanket and we’ve watched the first 2 episodes of season 2 of The Tudors. I’d seen the series before but I’d forgotten a lot. Plus, having watched a few documentaries about ol’ Henry, some of the glaring liberties they took with the events and involved people have been a tad grating. Then again, this doesn’t pretend to be a history - just based on history.

But I’m done for tonight. The gutter cleaner could be here as early as 8 tomorrow morning, so I’ve set my alarm for 6:30 - that’ll give me plenty of time to shower, dress, eat, and do my morning surf. Then after he’s gone, FCD and I are going to sit down and go over the distribution of the inheritance.

I was texting with TX SIL, asking if she wanted all the photos of them back, but she said they were duplicates, so I’ll get rid of most of them, or I may save one or two. Depends on how I feel when I go thru them. That BIL was never a favorite of mine for a lot of reasons. Gee, I don’t like many people, do I?? :stuck_out_tongue: On the other hand, he never contacted FCD unless he wanted something.

And on that snarky note, I’ll haul may carcass back to my pre-heated bed. I’ll likely turn the blanket off, but it’s nice to crawl between toasty sheets on a chilly night.

Mañana, y’all!!

That will be beautiful!

Awwwww!!! I hope work has been going well, your lovely overlords deserve their gooshy fud!

Which is why we don’t have carpets!!! Our first place came with 20 year old carpets and we had cats. I vacuumed and cleaned but when we had the money, we pulled the carpet up in the living room and HOLY COW the grossness growing under there was horrible.

Laminate flooring is as hard as the concrete under it, but so much easier to clean.

Wood floors are the best I’ve ever had.

I think it will be even more fun than that because it was the letter was about the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance so that means federal money is involved as well. I’m not going to stress over it, they can’t touch my retirement and they are welcome to the pittance I get back on state taxes every year.

Happy Friday!

It’s cold outside.

I’m sleepy but wanted to post something before going to bed.
And I have to clean off my bed before I can. I started cleaning out the closet and stuff id piled everywhere, including on the bed.
No sign of mice in the closet.

I’ve been feeling ick most of the day. I’m not sure if I am coming down with something or if it’s my allergy to dust.

I’ve enjoyed all the cute kitty pics.
I miss Adam.

MetalMouse, the dogs posed so nicely because my son is holding out a treat.

Very pretty Hippie

Sorry about your Bassett friend Red
Bassetts were one of my favorites, right behind Mastiffs.

Tobias is so cute

Feel better soon, Shoe

If ya wanna skip the PITA, Pillsbury makes a (refrigerated, not frozen) pie dough that’s pretty decent.
Sold next to the whomp biscuits.

So is that still fabric, or some heavyweight paper?

Ah, hahaha. HA!

Walked in (early, thankyouverymuch!) to find them already half-done making the 1st order, which had been taken a few days ago so it wasn’t a surprise (except to me) for THIRTY LARGE PIZZAS of various flavors.
Just shy of $800.

Apparently, there’s a Herman Miller factory? showroom? something, and they, uh, had themselves quite a party today.

Well, Carless Coworker offered to cover for me tonight. We’re not trading (I’m still early out tomorrow) so he’s taking a few of my hours - after I’d called out yesterday, so a bit of a financial hit - and normally I’d have pushed back against that, but I was still feeling so run-down & ragged, I figured, “What the hell.”

So OF COURSE my mood improved as soon as that was confirmed!

It also helped that I ate a few bites of both pasta salad - it stayed down, which I wasn’t sure about - and then put my seat back and thoroughly dozed off.
Put a spare hoodie over my legs, tucked my hands into the hood, left the engine running with the heat on (an indulgence!) and yeah, woke up snortling.

Felt so much better just for that!

Heard a rustling coming from Charm’s tank. Guess who’s shedding into her pretty new jacket?

Okay, time to get something accomplished. I think folding some of damn laundry should be relatively low demanding of my limited energy resources, and hopefully I’ll feel better, emotionally if not physically, for having gotten something done.

Besides, the next round of dirties is stacking up, and I need a hamper available to round 'em all up!

You start out with a pattern on paper. The individual pieces of fabric are a little larger than the designs on the paper. The fabric pieces go on etc back side and you sew along the lines on the paper. Once a piece is is you fold the paper, trim the fabric to 1/4 inch from the fold, stack the next piece on and sew on the next line. Once everything is sewn and trimmed, the paper is removed,

A bunch of people from the Wednesday church went to a Cleveland Charge basketball game and took me.
It had been over a decade since I’d been to Cleveland.
It was fun, a good game.
We had ayce seats, all you can eat.
I had nachos and a hot dog and sprite.
