I have known so many people like this over the years. These same people have called us lucky because our vehicles last so long. You know what they say, you can lead a horticulture whore to culture, but you can’t make her think!
That’s what we had to buy here. Nobody came to our door and told us that we had to change out the old ones, we wanted to because we didn’t trust them.
So I settled on making a batch of tea cakes and some chocolate crinkle cookies. I also bought some individually wrapped and decorated Christmas cookies and a bag of baby carrots.
If we have to go to Charleston, we will probably have to spend the night because he will be on drugs and I can’t drive after dark. I was packing a small bag and hubs offered to bring in a suitcase. I turned him down because that made it seem like we were expecting to stay. I dunno.
I’m also not bringing my needlepoint stand to demonstrate how confident I am that he will be coming home tomorrow and will be feeling great by Friday.
We were going to walk down to the river and look at the SFS house to see if we could see any activity (from nocturnal critters in the middle of the day) but when we got close we could see that Harry had taped the area off and had “Stay away, nesting Flying Squirrels” signs all over, plus he had left a watchful great grandkid to keep an eye out. I guess we will just content ourselves with the pics he gives us.
You make me feel so much better! I try them every year and fail every time.
I’m glad you had good thoughts to go along with your cookies.
The Swarovski items are cool - as well as your lego creations!
Well, there were no pictures, but there was an amusing moment. I happened to run into the parents of a former student of mine as we were so attired.
Today was a long day, but good. We did all make it up to the movie and survived the car rides back and forth. We even ordered Greek for dinner as takeout!
And a late night final for this MMP. Spent much of the afternoon at the gym watching tackleball on their TVs and walking/pedaling various machines. Home now, a couple sammiches eaten and Diet Pepsi’s consumed, so body has forgiven me for all the sweating I did to it. Some You Tubing remains to be done and then reading and puzzle-solving before bedtime. Loos like the rain has dried up, but it’s due for a repeat performance Moanday night.
FCM, yeah, I understand, my first car was a gift from my uncle after graduating college, it was his old car and while it was free, the bills I ran keeping it running for several years kept my savings account on the low end of the spectrum. Will have to look into those 10-year detectors.
Sari, maybe everything didn’t get done, but like you say, it’s a start. Take care of yourself.
red, sounds like those will be pretty specials cards.
JtC, tend to agree with Harry, while I’m sure you and Hubs would be circumspect and responsible, given average human behavior…
And that’s all for this week from the SSR. Catch y’all on the next MMP.
Well, got an e mail asking me to come in for an interview.
I’m wondering if I should as I worked at a differing one in March and they said no other place of that brand will rehire me.
Its a good location so I may as well go as I am desperate and broke.
I have no hope for employment, much less continuing to have a place but maybe God will do a miracle.
Off to sleep as I hafta get up early to hydrate before going to the lab so they can check thyroid levels.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. See ya next MMP!

Give it a shot.
Hi oopsie, you probably already know this; when I was going to be donating, a friend told me to eat a fair amount of raisins for a few days in advance, also a nice steak dinner doesn’t hurt.
When I was in TX, they called me a Yankee. I didn’t understand (and didn’t particularly care for it) as Yankees are from New England. But then they called the guy from Oklahoma a Yankee and explained that anyone not from TX was a Yankee. Must be the same in WV.
Nice day. Lectored the REJOICE reading. Home to gather up everything I was taking to Daughter’s to make Christmas cookies. Daughter served a fritatta and bacon for brunch. Then we made the dough for M&M cookies and for PB Kiss cookies and put it all in the refrigerator to chill. We took Bella for a walk then it was time to form the cookies and pop them into the oven. To get Hubs into being part of the action I had him trace the bottoms of the cookie tins on wax paper and cut them out to line the tins and also to cut a new brown paper bag open as after the cookies are out of oven and the cookie sheet is set to cool on wire rack for several minutes, I use my Mother’s mini turner to slide the cookies off the sheet onto the paper bag to finish cooling.
