While we’re on the subject, anyone interested in helping me confirm the balance of a game? It’s still in early design phases. 
Yay for continuing to be invisible! It’s just like actual games! It’s not like I volunteered to cohost way before anyone else, and would actually prefer it I think.

I want to play, but gearing up for a surgery on the 29th of december, but I will have sooo much free time and its on my left should anyhow so i can type with my right!! ok I’m /in! I feel sorry for some of you that may have to endure my pain pilled muddled thoughts if it starts right then, but if you are going towards, just after new years i should be a ok to play!
I’m in the “storyteller as host” camp. His games are always entertaining. As others have pointed out, Conspiracy seems like it’s almost-but-not-quite-Mafia - it’s great, but I’d like to do something a bit more ‘traditional’ for this ‘reunion game’.
Besides, if **Pleonast **were to host, then he couldn’t claim right out of the gate, and we’d miss out on all the fun of arguing about what, if anything, to make of his claim.
Of course, when I say ‘traditional’, what I really mean is ‘with a bunch of weird power roles that interact with each other in ways that no player could possibly comprehend’…so pay no attention to me…
Well, I certainly don’t win any popularity votes for moderating, I guess.

Pfft. It’s Idle that claims right out of the gate. I state whether or not I have powers. Totally different. 
I’m feeling kind of the same way. I’m not sure about playing on this board, though. Just because one long game thread is a PITA for my brain to operate on.
My sense is that there’s room for anyone who doesn’t want to play to host jointly. With 35+ players, two or three or even four moderators would improve the game immeasurably.
I know we did it in multiple threads once upon a time, even here - we’d have to get clearance from the moderators but we could do it. The problem is that, since the board isn’t dedicated to Mafia, old threads sink and vanish and searching through them becomes even more difficult.
And honestly, there are upsides tips single thread mafia. It’s much easier to track things like post counts, and pull up all the posts for a single player and do deep posting analysis if everything is in one place.
How will timetables be structured? Games I’ve been in in the past have usually done sometime like a 5 day Day/2 day Night schedule, which puts it at a week per round.
But at 2 kills per week for 40 players you’d be currently looking at something like a 5 month game. Is that what you’re estimating here?

But to be fair, I think I’ve only ever played in one of your games. I’ve seen two, though, I think…which…still isn’t much. 
Anyway, what I was thinking, just to make it fair, is to vote on host…and throw in the names of everyone who is interested. It could be a co-hosted or even triple hosted game, too, although that would take away from people playing in it…
But is anyone interested in voting for it, maybe?
So far we have Story, NAF, and Mahaloth, as far as I can tell. I think Pleonast said he doesn’t have the time to host any more.
Should we start a voting process or what? : p
I think I’m in the boat where I would rather co-host with story than do something on my own.
I’ll work on finishing the set up for running a game, but I’m happy to defer to storyteller0910.
I would think we would need a mechanism for more than 2 kills a week and day/night cycles need to be a little shorter than 7 days.
But again it should not be horrible to manage. I know recent games have been smaller, but big games like this were not uncommon once upon a time.
Not all have been classics, but Harry Potter Mafia and Hotel of Heroes 2(June 2016 on giraffe) were great. Hotel of Heroes 2 might have been the finest game of mafia I’ve been a part of, so I’m pretty proud of it. More proud of Dante G for actually winning with the “sole survivor” role, but it was amazing.
And I rather liked my Halloween game a month ago where we all had sock accounts and played with “masks” on.
Just bragging, but I think my games have some nice touches to them.
I don’t mind helping with Mod duties, but I don’t think I’ll be able to play in a game this big. I’d be pages behind at the end of the day sometimes.
