(Old) Silly Songs In The MMP

TurboTax: It should only take you 70 minutes to complete your return.
Reality: Hah! Try 3 hours and 40 minutes, plus two phone calls.
TurboTax: You saved $40! Just kidding.
Reality: You’re a PITA, TurboTax, and nobody likes you.

I need to head to the gym for the good of humanity and my blood pressure.

I couldn’t do either, so kudos to you!

I think lust should burn off calories in and of itself, don’t you?

Taters, I don’t know how you survive all those work frustrations. I admire your stamina. Sending some sunny vibes.

I did, too. I love hearing the zippy piano music when I complete it. (True confession: I click the “check puzzle” button often.)

Thank you. I do tend to go on and on, but ate least people can roll (their eyes) and scroll.

I wonder if that’s even legal. Kind of shady if you ask me.

That’s one big cactus there hippy.

Ursula Kitteh is absolutely gorgeous wet one.

Happy doperversary doggio!

It looks like I’m back to my usual job for a while again. My counterpart flashing Samsung just got off the purge project, so now, we’re working on her backlog (her stuff is far more voluminous than mine is, so I do the sorting, cartonization and transfers for it).

There was a local Amber alert today. You know that annoying screech that gets your attention on your phone? Amplify that by 1000 times at least for any phone that got powered on for processing all the damn day today. I truly hope that they found the kid (15 yo boy with autism) and not just because of the annoyance.

It was 70F and windy AF when I walked Nelson this morning. The wind had tipped my steel patio table over and blown my garden cart almost to the tree out front. I thought that Nelson would go up like a kite. :open_mouth: I did carry a jacket to irk though, since it was predicted to drop to 45F and did. The wool coat will be back in the morning.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Which one?

Leftovers for dinner. Mi Esposa made a burrito out of her leftover refried beans, rice, and some Mexican shredded cheese (MSC). I made a burrito out of half of her leftover chile verde, MSC, and store-bought spicy guacamole with jalapeños and jalapeño juice mixed in, and my two leftover jalapeño poppers.

The neighbour brought over a bottle of Kirkland (he works for Costco) Margarita Wine Cocktail. He might bring up a bottle of tequila next time.

I couldn’t go orient Tuesday as they mistakenly sent the e mail elsewhere. Today I didn’t as I told my boss it was not letting me fill out my identification info.
He wants me tomorrow 8-2. I am going in to show I am dependable, and need to make some money in case next week is payday, but my nose will not stop leaking, or being stuffed, or having a headache, etc.
Feel blah so hopefully he’ll let me fill stuff out and/or watch instruction videos.
I lost a job a bit ago because I was sick and called off.
If payday is 2 weeks from now, my rent will have to be 2 weeks late as I only have enough for bus money to and from work and toilet paper, maybe, will borrow some.
I’ve been in poverty all my life, its my fate.
I should’ve kept being my ex’s home aide, I would have 1,000 a month saved up every month.

Both were good, but the spoilered one had me LOL.

Coppertone, hope the nose stops leaking and the money starts coming in. And not your fate, you’re working hard to try and climb out. We’re rooting for you.

Dinner has been dined and sloth now rules. Take care all.

Thanks. I made it up in the '80s or '90s. (Same with the other one, but I made it up second.) I don’t know if I’ve ever shared either of them online or IRL.

If anyone’s bored, you may go over to X and listen to Witty Wednesdays with George Santos.
Your welcome. ( who knows what show thats a quote from?)

Howdy Y’all! Been home from soup ‘n sammich and book discussion for a while now. Needed some Netflix and chill when we got back to da cave. Another good group and discussion tonight. Plus chikin’ 'n veggie soup and pimento cheese sammiches. I do love me some good homemade pimento cheese. Shortly I shall make myself horizontal for the night.

I like horizontal. Bout to go there now, gotta catch the bus at 7!

You’ve got it backwards, nellie! When I get to your posts I enjoy them so much I make myself do zen breathing and r e a d r e a l s l o w to make it last.

I wonder too if FCM’s MIL isn’t acting this way on purpose. I’ve found with older family members in this situation that they just can’t do behavior change very well, aren’t tracking, and do the habitual thing because they don’t remember what they’re supposed to be doing instead.

Happy Hump Day!

Or what is left of it.

It’s raining, and getting cold outside.
It was near 60 today, and will be in the low 20s in the morning.

Today was
We’re off to see the snipper
The wonderful snipper of balls
day.

Both boys did well. The staff was impressed with how sweet and well-behaved they were.
They are doing well this evening; you’d never know they had anything done to them.

I have a lot of reading and catching up to do.
And the title of the thread had Silly Love Songs running through my head.
Sorry Ooopsie, but I detest that song.
So far, neither Schism nor Walk has gotten it out of my head.
Whiter Shade of Pale may do it.

With all the rain, we were able to test the garage door and it is working!

In sad news, a friend’s horse died in weird way. And B/H mom’s daughter’s dog was attacked by another dog and is not expected to make it. The little guy is only 5 pounds, I hope he makes his. Her granddaughters will be devastated.

The next two days are supposed to be really cold. Since the GR need to stay quiet, and we did our grocery shopping, we won’t have to go out.

It stinks pretty bad outside anyway. The farmer fertilized the fields behind us.

:notes: It’s raining, it’s pouring
The old man’s head was just crushed in a vice :notes:

Bob is very handsome as is the young man in front of him. Can I ask why Bob had to be moved?

Hubs has been gaming long enough that I don’t jump anymore, I just laugh. “Your avatar isn’t going to hear you no matter how loud you shout!”

I’m of two minds over hubs getting acupressure. My issue is that I think that he should seek traditional treatment as well…or even first. I hope it helps him, but I feel that he is treating the symptoms instead of the cause.

He’s drinking coffee again, which is great. He is not a very nice person when he’s going through caffeine withdrawal. Which I didn’t know because this was the first time I’ve ever seen him totally decaffeinated, by the second day I was rethinking the whole “is sickness and in health” thing.

He found some CBD/THC vape cartridges that really helped, but he already has memory issues and didn’t like the THC part.

Thanks for the good wishes. He didn’t seem overly impressed, today he told me that the CBD/THC carts worked the best for him but he won’t use them anymore because he doesn’t like the “memory of a goldfish” results. It’s a shame he refused to start smoking the devil’s lettuce until he was in his mid-60’s. He doesn’t have my mad tolerance and coping skillz and feels like a lightweight. (This is why I always make him talk to the budista himself, they are much better at explaining stuff to old fogies.)

No, as I understand, they grow a thick layer of protective (forgotten words) on the sunny sides, so the other sides don’t have that protective callus and the plant will get sunburned and die. The arms are a sign of age, they don’t start getting arms until they are almost a hundred years old.

If you see pics of them with their arms pointing down, those cactus have been freeze damaged. It is amazing that such persnickety plants live as long as they do.

Oh, it was VBC, GG doesn’t listen to us hoomans. Back when he was just a little jerkface, she would bounce his head against the floor like a basketball. Bap!Bap!Bap! It’s possible that he was born smart.

I’ve been meaning to ask how BIL is dealing with his mother’s failing health. I’m really hoping that he doesn’t make things even harder once he figures out that he’s lost the last person who really loves him.

Nah…you sleep with him, he’ll wake you up.

I think MIL needs more ice cream. Or nice thick milkshakes.

I haven’t seen the cake, but I will add my happy wishes too.

Oh, I’m not judging. I would be horrible bored and miserable if I suddenly had no needles, we all do what we enjoy. Your guys and mine like playing games, I like doing expensive, finicky needlework pieces that will end up in a bin in the shed. All things considered, hubs’ hobby is probably less expensive than mine, but his is funnier because he’s been yelling at his avatars since Diablo 1 came out and not a single one of them have ever listened to him.

What a lovely kittah. And what a great pic, we have had black cats in the past and our pics of them are just black blobs with eyes. It must be the wall color

Oh, come on. Tell us how you really feel!!!

Hubs is a retired auto body tech. I’ve heard him talking about paint more than once. Plastic can be successfully painted as long as the prep work and primer are good. Don’t skip steps, don’t take shortcuts. Dust is your enemy so be sure you can paint in a clean area. Link to the IMHO thread and I’ll sit him down and have him share some of his knowledge.

Could you post that link again, I mentioned it to TC friend and she thinks she might like to plink around with it a little.

Once it’s tested, post pics here. You know that we all would be happy to suggest “improvements”, LOL!!! I’m fairly certain it will get sunny again, here’s hoping it is sunny on 4/8 and you can make lots of money!

That really surprises me, because I would use scissors on the bag to get it off the bed. I’m sure there is a reason you didn’t want to do that, but hmmmm.

Really? Only three bucks? For overnight shipping? Wow!!! I hope you love it

LOLOLOL!!! And I used to jump when there was an Amber alert when I was working at the very crowded food stamp office, I can’t imagine how it was for you.

Snert!

I’m glad the GR are feeling well. I’m guessing you had much more pain and stress over the snips than they did.

Congrats on the garage door!

I am so sorry for little dog and the peoples who love them.

I do like dogs, but I get so angry when I hear about uncontrolled dogs attacking other critters or people. Bad owners cause so many problems.

Bad cat owners aren’t any better.

So, today was surplus produce and I left at my usual time. We have a spot in line that we like (next to tree filled birds and on level ground) because we sometimes have to wait and we know better than to be at the end of the line. When the volunteers can see the last car, they look at the food left and start really overfilling the boxes.

We waited for half an hour and started voting about staying, but all of us (I’m still picking up two ladies…probably not for much longer, it is warming up) agreed that we plan to spend a few hours dealing with the food so we could wait. Just when we were going to give up, the truck showed up. The poor driver must have gotten lost because he came down from one of the ranches out back.

I always feel sorry for the drivers when that happens. If they miss the right turn, they are kinda screwed. The wrong turn puts them on narrow hilly roads with no place to turn around. Once they are about a mile back, they run out of pavement and then they start seeing the barb wire fences and hearing banjo music and their GPS goes funky.

Folks out this way know that if you are driving up a mountain and get lost, go down the mountain and you will eventually find the highway again. The volunteer drivers are flatlanders, city folks. They don’t know that sort of thing, why would they?

We are still getting grapefruit, NF will be happy. We got a 2 lb bag of salad mix and a 5 lb bag of chopped lettuce, so CG’s birds will eat well. Lots of bread, a couple of pocket sized bottles of hand sanitizer, 6 bottles of water, three Reeces cups and a Hershey bar as well and some nice big onions, a five lb bag of potatoes, half a dozen Roma tomatoes and bread.

I am so happy that I have people to give my surplus surplus, the boxes are always too full for two old folks.

Thanks. It’s going to be a while until it’s warm enough to paint, but I can start doing prep work.

To give you a heads-up: I’m painting motorcycle fairings. One fairing is already the right colour, and in great condition; so I have the other fairing, the tailpiece between them, the front fender, and the front fairing (cowl). All but the one piece will need to be prepped. The front fairing, front fender, and tail were a two-stage paint (colour coat and clear coat) and have been vandalised with flat black paint. The left fairing is the right colour (three stage: base coat, another coat (colour coat?) and clear coat) but has some wear. When I start the thread, I’ll need to know how much of the old paint I need to take off; what grit sandpaper to use to get down as far as I need to; and what grit sandpaper I’ll need before priming and painting. I have an idea the pre-paint sandpaper will need to be 1,000 grit. The front fairing has decals on the sides, and the right-colour left fairing has one. I’m planning to sand those off. FWIW, the thing that scares me most is the front fairing. It’s big, and I don’t know how even I can paint it with the rattle cans. (I don’t have a compressor. The paint itself is hard to come by in this state, and I had to order it from California as Amazon won’t deliver here.)

Anyway, I’ll start a thread in IMHO. Don’t need answer fast.

flyboy My handle may be paintcharge, but I can’t help you with automotive (motorcyclive?) painting. Give me a theatrical set to paint or a back drop, then I’m, well, was, your guy. I haven’t done it professionally in years. You may want to make space in your wood shelter to spray in, to keep floating dust out of the finish and keep yourself in fresh air is my best piece of advice.

I once sprayed a bunch of exhibits with pre-catalyzed lacquer in an exhaust booth and had to quit after 3 hours because the fumes got me, even with a good air filter mask. Fumes are not to be ignored.

Sure, it’s:

Keep in mind that it takes a few days after taking the assessment tests to hear back from them. Allegedly up to two weeks, but it was four or five days in my case.

Rainy and windy tonight. It’s down to 47 ferrets. Spot is playing “The Floor Is Lava” on a dog towel. I had a martini and teriyaki chicken and rice tonight.
(forgot to hit send)

And up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave

Good to hear. I’m pretty sure Spot was “And the horse you rode in on.” to the TNR staff.

:frowning:

I did that tonight

Me: “God, did I waste my life posting on the Internet?”
God: “I’ve seen your posts, son. You wasted thousands of lives.”

 Like a live action Looney Tunes

Almost morning!
Got about 2 hours sleep; never drink coffee after 7 p.m.
I’m going in to show my dependableness, and to earn Something. I won’t be staying long, not going near the food!
See you guys later.:bubble_tea:

This is the third house Dave and his lovely wife have lived in since they bought Bob upon moving to Tuscon. They have lived there about twenty years and have downsized twice.
