Tonight we had the supper I was going to make yesterday. There’s still half a head of cabbage, so I’m going to run to the store tomorrow and get a jar of cole slaw dressing. Yes, it’s a cheat. Big deal. I like it. I’ll also get a couple more cases of Diet Coke while it’s still on sale.

I’ve been crocheting - down to the last 2 rows, but I kept nodding off. Partly because of Ben - stuffy head and drippy nose. You’d think they couldn’t coexist, but they do. Dammit.

Rain and possible t-boomers overnight, ending in the morning. It’s quiet and rain-free at the moment, but it’s been coming down on and off all day.

I’m going to make an early night of it. I’m feeling dopey and I’m not in the mood for any more TV. Catch ya in the next MMP!

Howdy Y’all! Did the group thang and then got us some Bojangle’s chikin, fries, coleslaw, and bizkits to sup upon. It was soooooo good! I also watched some stoopid teevee. OYKW has some sinus ick tonight so he has turned in for the night and sleepin’ with Ben. I didn’t get nappage and have been up since a little after five a.m., so I shall join him in sleepworld in just a bit.

Don’t be silly! It was in a gold lamé thong and I swung in on a chandelier and announced that I am now f-aaaaaa-bu-lous! I woulda done more, but it was a last minute decision.

Mollie Popeye’s is really good chikin. I like their red beans 'n rice and bizkits as well. Unfortunately, the only one we had here closed.

Dinner was delicious (if I do say so myself). The skin on my salmon fillet was especially good. And I finished off the Italian-cut green beans, so I’m stuffed like a demon. (Or is it ‘daemon’? Checking my spell-check.)

There’s a place I haven’t been in a couple of decades. Little Squalicum Beach might have some photographic opportunities. I’ll take the Olympus OM-1n there tomorrow. I don’t remember if it has colour, or B&W film in it. I might also check out Fairhaven. Maybe I’ll bring an extra roll of film.

Hate to break it to ya - maybe it’s a local enshitification - but the last not 1, not 2, but 3 times I went, it was … { sad trombone } Biscuit was dry as the Sahara, and the beans lacked that yumminess … coulda been dumped out of a can.

Evening all. Dined at Texas Roadhouse and went straight to the gym from there, where I treaded mills and watched tackleball, also monitored e-mail and did a little bit of reading, then came home and watched a little more tackleball before sammiches and ice cream finished off my eatin’ for the day. Just browsing the internet for awhile until bedtime beckons, signed up to referee a soccer game Monday at 5:30pm, which will fit in well with dinner time (DQ Double is on the menu). Day cleared up nicely and the sun came out for awhile, so hopefully the rest of the week will be calmer.

As for the troublesome tire, the garage filled it to 36psi (did the same for the others) and when I went to dinner it was down to 33psi and when I came out of the gym it was 32psi, so stopped at a station and pumped it up to 38psi, which should hold me until tomorrow. Hoping it can be repaired, only 10,200 miles on the car and I’d like to get 25-30,000 miles out of the factory tires before buying new ones. But we’ll see, the place I go to (Tire Discounters) have always treated me fair in the past.

And now to pay the penance for not posting in the afternoon, so let’s see what was on my fellow Mumpers minds today…

Packers crush the Bears, Canes defeat Philly, not to bad a sports day(apart from Max winning in Singapore).

I mean, Wednesday’s high is forecast to be 91. and Friday’s is 62. North Carolina: Weather by Sybil.

He wa more irked by me moving the sectional section, putting a fan on the damp spot, and not letting him lick the water out of the towels.

Well, crap. The Spousal Unit thought it would be nice to get some Bailey’s Irish Cream, since she’s not seeing patients tomorrow. We got Carolan’s instead of Bailey’s. She’d been drinking a mixture of Carolan’s, Kahlua, and Vodka for about three hours. Then she started crying at me because I haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Then she started talking about how we as pilots (her, a Black Hawk pilot in the Gulf War, and me, a private pilot Single-Engine Airplane - Land, and Rotorcraft - Helicopter) can personally fly Christians out of Iran. Then she passed out in the catio. She puked a lot (didn’t see any fish; just the alcohol), and I haven’t been able to move her inside. I covered her with a fleece blanket, and I’ll be up until she comes in. :frowning:

Hubs is feeling a bit better; he says now he’s mostly just very tired. He didn’t go to mass so I brought Holy Communion home to him; he watched mass on tv; I set the dvr to record mass every Sunday just in case. He went back to bed and slept while I went to the fundraiser. Then after our daughter and GF left, he took another nap, but now still tired.

Although I said I’d arrive to help at the fundraiser at noon, I didn’t get there until about 12:25 due to the mass running long since a new deacon was being celebrated but it turned out they already had plenty of volunteers to set up so I was assigned the task of collecting the admission fee. When the noon mass let out, we had a stream of folks ‘following their noses’ to the wonderful spaghetti sauce smell. The chef is Italian and you had a choice of marinara or meat sauce. Daughter and DG showed up about 2:15 so I was relieved from my post. All 3 of us went with the meat sauce and it was so tasty with the Italian seasonings and garlic. There was salad and big rolls. And of course, dessert. There had only been 4 people who signed up to bring desserts so the lady in charge of the dessert table had sent out an email last Wednesday requesting others to bring some since we were expecting about 150 people. The Vincentiens outdid themselves, there were so many desserts. My chocolate chip cookie brownie bars turned out the best I’ve ever made them. Although there were so many different types of brownies that there were 7 of mine left so I brought them home and let the girls take 2 each and Hubs and I will share the 3 remaining. The wife of the gent that I was working the admissions table with brought over some PB blossom cookies and I remarked that they are one of my favorites. She asked if I wanted her to bring some to me but I didn’t want to eat cookies before spaghetti so I asked if she would be willing to put some into the Longaberger basket that I had brought in the room where we put our outerwear and umbrellas. She was willing and so I have 2 PB blossom cookies that I will have with some milk later. When leaving, there were some blondies in that room so I took one as I’ve never had them before. Very good. We have a SVdP meeting on Tuesday evening and I’m going to ask for the recipe.

Daughter and DG came over for a short visit with Hubs and to return his glasses to him.

Taters I also seem to watch a lot of TV. I watched The Great British Baking Show this evening; it’s the series with Dan Hunter as one of the contestants; I love his smile and he’s pretty easy on the eyes. Do you possibly get The Great Canadian Baking Show? I thought possibly since you’re in Washington that you might get CBC like we in the Mitten do.

This morning the temp was supposedly 59F but with the wind and the dampness from the overnight rain, it felt much cooler.

I’m another in the group of being somewhat uncomfortable in a social situation. I’m just not good at small talk at all.

On Friday Hubs bought all the ingredients that he needs to make chili but it’s going to be 80F for the next few days so that won’t be happening anytime soon.

Daughter won’t go there because of their politics, so I don’t either.

Husker fans are known to be extremely polite and gracious to visiting teams and fans. Now the ones who go to rallies and cheer when the speaker says it would be ok to take out certain CA cities, I have to wonder about. And don’t go to Madison for a Badger football game if you don’t want to get soaked by a cup of beer or hit by a battery or worse.

Oh heck, that’s just half hour 18 miles from where daughter’s BFF lives. Will need to check on her and her family.

when you drink some that has been freshly pressed and bottled, it’s like nectar of the gods, much better than what you get in a grocery store.

oh, oh, oh, that reminds me that I want to go to the tree nursery and buy a pink dogwood tree.

You are so right. We have a reputation for being the most welcoming and hospitable fans in college football. We are far more likely to invite you to eat at our tail gate or buy you a beer.

And if a Husker fan did start to do anything even remotely like that they would instantly be shut down by the nearest true Cornhusker and hustled right out of there. Stadium security would not be needed.

I live less then a mile from the stadium so when I see folks in the team colors of our opponents I give them a sincere “welcome to Lincoln, glad you are here” and a “good luck” or “good game” depending whether it is before or after.

All bets are off if they are from Oklahoma though…….(just kidding. I’m Nebraska Nice to them too).

The spousal unit is in bed. The catio has been hosed off. The fleece blanket and the dish towel are in the wash. I can’t remember the last time I had a hangover, but I am sorry for what hers will be.
