(Old) Thank God It's Frood Day - A Hoopy MMP

Another interview tomorrow. 2 buses but its worth the effort.

Started planting the marigolds and another friend texted inquiring if I wanted to walk. So put on shoes and socks and met up with friend midway between our houses then walked 3-1/4 miles. Had a banana on toast with chai almond nut butter. Then went to Kroger to pick up bananas, Hubs’ LF milk and a few things on digital coupon, particularly key lime pie that was out of stock on Friday. Had a mango fruit bar. Now waiting for video appt with Hubs’ Dr at 1pm. Then back to planting flowers and tomatoes.

We had three to five inches of rain last night depending on which weatherman you are listening to. The creeks are all out of their banks and low level streets have little clusters of stalled out cars.
We had a good inch or so in our basement. I am about to go over the carpet with the shop vac for the second time. My daughter, who lives down there, just came home early from work with a new carpet shampooer. No sloth and day drinking for us today

He has his moments.

I smoked tobacco until I retired at which time I didn’t need to smell like an ashtray anymore (I liked to pretend it covered the pot smell). I used salted pumpkin and sunflower seeds to compensate. After about a week, I was over the tobacco and was also over the seeds, so I quit eating them too. Nothing else was needed.

I just found 6 unopened jars of shelled sunflower seeds in the back of his snack cabinet. He doesn’t eat them, he just wanted to be sure that I had them if needed.

awwwww. that is marriage.

pilot, we’ve considered the possibility of her dying enroute but she insists she’s fine. Stubborn is what she is. Slight reprieve now - UncleJ is sick.

I just ran to Tractor Supply for some grape 'mater plants, plus one pepper and one beefsteak. I just soaked them all and I’ll plant them tomorrow.

Cornbread, with corn in it, is baked. Time to cook some green beans and heat the pulled poke. Gettin’ hongree!!

We’re on our way. CtE needs to be at the arena at 4:30, and we need to pick up my SIL and niece. Is Mama supposed to be nervous for this, because… Mama is nervous. CtE seems really calm.

We’ve had one slight hiccup. Hubby made the reservation too close to the end of graduation and we wouldn’t have made it. So a lunch at The Cheesecake Factory will be happening tomorrow.

I’ll try to get pictures and possibly share them later.

The best thing about having today’s personal training session yesterday is that now I’m done with workouts until Saturday. I really need to start stretching at home, and adding some cardio between workouts, but neither of those things will be happening today. What did happen today is that I ordered new gym shoes: the sneakers I’ve been wearing are ~10 years old, and aren’t grippy enough on the astroturf that covers the personal training area. For the past month or two, every time I’ve been at the gym I’ve thought (and sometimes said), “I should get new shoes.” I did some Googling and found two objective/independent-seeming lists of the best gym shoes for women, and when the same shoe (the Nike Metcon 9) appeared on both lists I ordered it. They’re kinda fugly, but I only intend to wear them to the gym.

Oooo, so she got the BAE job?

(Must have happened during one of the weeks I couldn’t Mump…)

Ugh. Sorry.

D’awww!

As hiccups go, that’s not bad. Fingers crossed that the ceremony goes smoothly and everyone stays happy…and, yes, nervous mamas will be expected/everywhere!

I’m glad that your dad’s life celebration went well sticky buns. Hugs.

And these work very well from a lawn chair.

You were very kind to clean up that mess shady. It’s sometimes difficult to have patience with those who are mentally impaired.

Awwwwwww! :heartbeat:

Irked up front most of the day today. I was low on irk, so I volunteered. They put me to charging purchase phones, which was really just checking the charge level for the most part and making sure that the labels were all there and matching. Gravy job. I’ll finish them up tomorrow and by Thursday, my cup will be running over in my own space again.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

She heard last Firday that she got it - starting June 3. I’ll have Roxy the week of June 10 because her camp doesn’t start till the 17th. With luck, it will be warm enough to take her to the marina pool.

The rest of today is for chillage.

Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and put away where it stays until dirty again. It just refuses to take itself to the laundry room when dirty. How ungrateful! We had some quality cee-mint pond time, as well. Great place for day drinkin’! Sup also got cooked and et and the kitchen cleanded up. Thus was the day in swampland.

And it refuses to put itself away when clean. How rude!

All hail the new graduate!

Yay!:mortar_board:
Today Cleveland set a record at 90 degrees.

That’s right!

Evening all. Did my banking and pedaling, then gassed up car and after a short break, refereed soccer for a couple of hours, so for me it has been a fairly active day.

Slightly embarrassing story: While waiting at the drive-in window at the bank to have my check cashed, I got an overwhelming urge to empty my bladder and it simply would not wait-I was going to go, So I drove forward from the tube machine, pulled up to a wooded area and ducked in and…relieved the intolerable pressure (with only a few drops on my clothes). Then reversed back in to the same window and got my cash from them as if nothing at all had happened. What the bank folks thought of this I do not know and probably just as well I don’t. First time that has happened in quite a while, hopefully will not repeat itself.

How about a Tony Packo’s hot dog?

hippie, I had 900+ people in my graduating class (we were one of the three largest high schools in Ohio at the time) and have stayed in touch with exactly none of them, so no plans to ever attend one. And that’s a heck of a lot or rain for anywhere, hope the basement recovers without any mold or stuff.

Real Fish, my congratulations to CtE and to you and Husband, it can’t have been easy getting there for any of you, but you’ve all stuck by each other and made it.

Oopsie, hope the new shoes work out fine.

Coppertone, that’s hot anywhere, but in Cleveland…wow.

OK, need to clean up from dinner and finish the night’s internetting, so take care all.

Yaay!!! That’s a lot of extra obstacles overcome to have gotten this far. Mom sure looks proud.

Never a good sign when the Technomage’s apprentice shows up before the sort. And sure enough, SSLAW #1 kept going down. Also the Midnight Shift scheduler is either tone deaf or has a sick sense of humor. According to the WARN notice, Friday is their last day. The safety topic for them that day? Egress.
But I napped. Judging by Spot licking his chops, he was dreaming of a feast. But I had a Manhattan and Redneck stirfry for dinner

Sorry you got stuck with the (literally) shitty job.

Hail, CtE!

Grateful you didn’t use a tube.

I decided to leave irk at 15:00 today. I didn’t get home until 18:35. :frowning:

I’d made tuna-and-egg salad the other day. I made a quesadilla style of thing with a Carb Balance tortilla, the tuna-and-egg salad, jalapeños, and cheddar.

We slept like logs last night. It rained all day, which made me happy. However, on this morning’s walk Ms. Dog went all Cujo on a little dog getting carried by his person. I jerked her leash, got in her face, and scolded, “No! Bad dog!” in my “I am the god of hellfire” voice, and she looked startled and then contrite and plodded dejectedly for the rest of the walk. Don’t mess with me, bowser. I taught freshmen.

I texted her person about the incident, and she replied, “She hates it when little dogs get carried. I don’t know if she’s jealous or if she thinks they look down on her.” I’m pretty sure it’s the latter.

After our big walk–only 2.7 miles today due to rain–she amused herself by hiding a ball under a blanket and then pretending she didn’t know where it was. This kept her amused for a solid hour.

Oh, that’s what I did, but the living room/dining area is small and my pitching wildly inaccurate, so I ended up bowling for martini glasses. Luckily the front row on the bar cart is plastic (veddy kitschy fancy gold-flecked plastic from my son’s wedding, when I had to transport glasses, champagne, and a whole lotta liquor from Wyoming to western Washington), so nothing broke.

red, I’m going to get one of those for when we go to the complex’s dog park. Thanks!

Good luck. I hope two buses to get there and back won’t be too much for you on a daily basis. (Notice how confident I am that you’ll get the job!)

Yipes, hippy! I hope things dry out quickly!

Fishy, yay for the graduate!

They probably assumed you were making a deposit.

shady, that sounds like a frustrating and difficult cleanup. I can tell you’re pretty patient with your sweet cousin, though.

Misnomer, I thought of you this evening because of an answer in the NYT crossword.

But then they’d feel just wawful.
