(Old) The MMP is the place to be!

Standing at my front door before going to bed. From the window in the door, can see heavy blustery snow conditions.

Can see down the street to the end of the block, but just barely. Howling wind. (Piper Mutt keeps giving little « woofs », I think in response to the noise of the wind.). Wind whistling though the screen door outside, but inner door has good weather stripping.

Just saw a neighbour striding briskly through the dark blizzard, all bundled up. What takes them out in a night like tonight?

Will go to bed, but will likely wake up several times to double-check Piper Mutt is inside (one of my few OCD thingies; wake up
worrying that I forgot to let him in.)

Not a winter wonderland tonight.

In bed, wind howling around the house.

G’night all.

Someday I want to visit a Waffle House.

Late night final. I did put the dishes back where they belong so feel rather pleased with myself. Probably head off to bed shortly and do some reading before bedtime. Will have to see how I feel tomorrow if I want to do any soccer stuff or not; don’t want to mess things up before I see the Surgeon on Tuesday. I have offered to let the kids paint my beard before our last game on the 22nd, it’s becoming something of a tradition now…

FCM, nice thing about dogs is that there memory is about 0.5 seconds…less if you offer treats… Glad you could get the tour you wanted.

JtC, glad the folks are ok (shaken up a lot, I expect). As for the mail poltergeist, just another mystery (you may need the Scooby gang to solve it…).

rocky, even more tragic, the flight was taking a young child home to Mexico with his Mom.

swampy, I think every meal at Waffle House could be described as brunch, no matter what the time of day.

Piper, a little Pmomp and Circumstance while avoiding the bad weather; sounds like a win. But take care.

Cupcakes, if life ever brings you down South, I’ll be happy to take you (I’m sure swampy, doggio, red or other southern mumpers would also do so.

And that’s all for Firday. Catch you tomorrow.

Up from naptime. It is raining here.I did salmon, roasted red poatatoes, and peas for dinner. And Guinness.

:frowning:

0300 is the best time.

I’ve been growing out my beard, at about an inch and a half long I’ve discovered I have the equivalent of a cow’s lick on my chin. The whole beard lists to the right. Back to a short trim. I’m sure you’re all deeply fascinated by my follicular foibles.

doggio I dunno, Waffle house at 7 am, hungover as shit is a pretty good time, too. Though maybe your 3o’clock visit prevents my later need.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. Today is my Firday!

But 0300 is the best time to see a drunken knife fight between a furry and a drag queen.

I have two coupons for a free waffle there that you can have!

I feel like I should be able to think of a clever reply… Got nothing, though.

Today MusicMan has to work. He had to get there at 4 a.m.! Ugh.
I’m not sure what I’m doing. So far it’s just me and the poodle and my lovely BMS. I love my homemade granola but I cannot eat it now as I reconfirmed when trying to eat breakfast. Also today, just for fun, the inside of my mouth is split on one side. The good news, I guess, is that I got a referral to a new doctor to see if they can think of anything to help.

I’m starting to see a link between my excitement over getting a good sleep and the subsequent sleepless night. I absolutely could not fall asleep last night till around 2, and I woke just after 6… dammit.

At least the kids slept thru the night when they finally crashed. We’ll see how long they sleep in this morning. The longer they’re zonked, the fewer hours I have to wrangle before Daughter gets here around noon. This is the reason there’s menopause - women my age don’t need to be dealing with kids, especially not babies! Nature knows we deserve peace in our golden years!! I have acquired new admiration of grandmothers who raise their grands for whatever reason. Oh, I’d take these two in a heartbeat if I had to, but thankfully, that shouldn’t befall me.

Apart from giving them back to their mother, my only plan is emptying the dishwasher and maybe some rollsuckage. And maybe a trip to Lowe’s - we had a nightlight in our bathroom that was mainly a small glowing square that cast just enough light for us to find the terlit at night without blinding us. We’d had it for ages, but it finally fizzled a couple of nights ago. According to my search, our local Lowe’s has some like it. I need to get something before one on us gets hurt or misses the seat.

We’ve got a cold but rain-free weekend ahead. Then 2 days of mild, but beyond that, I don’t trust the weather guessers. All I know is it ain’t spring yet. Dammit.

Happy Saturday anyway!

Worst service Lady SCAdian ever had was at a Waffle House.

What about White Rod? Or does that office no longer exist?

35F/2C outside now, and I think the rain has stopped. Supposed to be up in the mid 40s Monday and Tuesday! No plans for today, except maybe a trip to get rid of a hundred or so empty soda bottles and cans. (No, we don’t do that very often…) And doing away with a couple of paczki.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 66 and cloudy. A blah day ahead. Sounds like a good day to be in da cave. Tomorrow is brunch Sunday and the Sooper Bowl of Caring chili cook off and fund raiser. Folk are encouraged to make money donations and/or non-perishable food donations. The money and food go to a local food pantry. Food items are actually taken weekly because that’s an ongoin’ thing. Anywho I shall make an Eyetalian cream cake and we’ll take some toppin’s for chili. I choose not to make chili. I make chili for home consumption but make it up as I go. Outside of cake makeage RDOS inactivities will prevail. Any need to feed today will be via forage.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rak.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Last heard of when Faramir surrendered it to King Elessar, who then returned it to Faramir.

Good morning.

It’s 36F and cloudy outside. We’re supposed to see rain and snow showers between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. this morning, but it’ll turn to rain later with a high temperature of 42F for the day.

JtC, I’m glad no one was hurt in the wreck.

FCM, yay for getting the excursion you wanted.

My son is coming up later today to hang out.

I don’t have any plans other than enjoying his visit.

Sending my best to all. I’m not in a good place and will not drag this place down.

Take care.

Morning all. Cooler after all the rain, but supposed to get back into the 60’sF tomorrow. Outside of indoor soccer and maybe a little shopping (have some coupons that run out today) nothing much on the agenda.

VanGO, I have a fairly long beard, all white hairs, that is approaching 19th century levels.

Sticky Buns, hope the mouth stops splitting and the new Doc can help.

swampy, happy cake-makin’.

And been long enough so need to break my fast. Have a good Sattiday all.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 6c/43f with no predicted change, and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Eh, it’s cloudy but it’s fucking decent outside. Is that more positive? I’m really fucking trying.” It’s positive enough, it’s cloudy out there but it’s not raining. That’s good enough for me.

He got a contract working for a company near Bristol so he goes down there on Monday morning and comes back home on Thursday evening  Living in hotels isn’t great and he was hoping to find some accommodation nearer to his work because having to keep bringing all his stuff home and then take it all back again is a pain in the backside

Dot your puppers look wonderful, I can almost see their little personalities!

I am so sorry, it does sound like they have given Duke the best care possible and done everything they could for him. There comes a point where you know it’s time to let them go. Doesn’t make it any easier. I hope you get to see them this weekend to give them a bit of emotional support.

Donna obviously thinks it’s important - have you left a note on it to tell her that her grandkid can’t get it until today?

Hurrah! I hope the second waitlist obliges too!

I’ve never been to a Waffle House but surely brunch refers to the time of day that you’re eating, not necessarily what’s on your plate?

Piper sounds like a proper “occasion” there. Take care in that horrible weather!

I had a pleasant bonus bloke-free evening last night. He took himself off to Leicester to see a band I don’t care for, so I stayed at home and looked after the mogs instead. Today I was up a bit later than usual, and went to the gym a bit later. It meant I didn’t have enough time to do a full hour on the pushme-pullyou so I did 30 minutes on there and then did a 30 minute kettlebells class, then did another 30 minutes on it.

The machine has a load of pre-set programmes so I decided to try the 4:3 interval one. It means you get 4 minutes at resistance level 1, then 3 minutes at level 8, then repeats that cycle. It took me 31.04 minutes/3.93kms to burn 300 calories. After kettlebells, I did 30 minutes on the fatburner interval setting which starts at level 3 and goes up and down through all of the levels (there are 12). That burned 300 cals in 30.01 minutes/3.88kms.

Stopped off to get some cash from the machine at the petrol station near home, then came back to have a shower, a cup of tea and then feed the cats again. I’ve got some dye on my hair which needs to be washed off in 15 minutes, and then I have the afternoon to do whatever I please. We are out tonight, dinner is leftover Thai curry from the freezer which 'im indoors is responsible for. He messaged to say he should be home just after 2pm so I’m sure the cats will be either totally freaked out or very pleased to see him.

Good morning! It’s a sunny 28 F outside. I’m ready for breakfast. I’ll talk to you later.

Dishwasher loaded and running; critters fed; toast and marmalade before me; tea steeping.

Remnants of the storm wearing out.

Have a good day, everyone.

For me, the first meal of the day is “breakfast”, even if it doesn’t happen until after noon; last meal of the day is “supper”. If there’s a meal in between, it’s “lunch”.

Its 21 degrees and sunny. Best day will be Monday at 47.
Wednesday I nixed my hair. It says to comb all the nits out but theres no way.
My hair has been breaking off for a month and looks thinned out as it is.
I can only hope they are dead. I go in next week to check. If not they can give me a prescription, Natroba(?) which won’t need removing them.
I can’t afford any more Nix.
When one worrisome thing ends, another begins.
I was not meant to be happy, I am certain.

It’s sunny with a predicted high of 32. I felt lousy yesterday and went to bed at 6pm. At some point in the 14 hours of being in bed, I heard the sound no cat owner wants to hear NEXT TO MY EAR. She jumped off the bed before full on horking. Blankets are now in the wash.

I have a sinus infection so abx will be started.
