I’ve always had good luck before too, but the only similarities between what I ordered and what I got was that they were both PJ pants and plaid.
Just spurs.
Ruff y’all!!!
I used to do something like that, only it was meatloaf as the base, then spinach, prosciutto and mozzarella before rolling up.
Hilarious!
The paper that it’s on is printed. Or, Bugs Bunny was the stamper.
I woke up headachey and nauseous this morning and just couldn’t get warm, so I called out of irk. Some rest, tea, toast and the outside warming up has me feeling better, though I’m still being cautious.
Or a cinnamon roll, many of which I had to make when I was a baker.
When we discover something that was missed by the scanner, the next time we go to that store we get another one of that item, pay for it, then leave it at the store.
I’m an atheist – why are so many of my recent earworms hymns that I last heard in real life 45-50 years ago?
Been doing a lot of mediaeval-style biphasic sleep lately. Not planned – it just happens. Fortunately, since I retired I don’t have to get up at a set time every morning. So I go to bed when I want, and get up when I want (unless there’s an early-morning* doctor’s appointment or something).
Weather.gov has a new symbol on their website. I’ve often seen one divided into two parts indicating rain in the morning and snow later (or vice versa), but now they have one divided into three parts, indicating snow followed by rain followed by more snow.
Excellent idea. I modified it though. I took a picture of the package showing the label and bar code, I will keep the receipt as a reminder to deal with it when we next go.
Well, dang. I sure hope you feel better in the morning. Does Nelson like snuggling up with you when you are sick? He might not be able to purr, but just the snuggles is always a comfort to me.
That’s what I’ve done in the past, but this was sold by weight. I think a picture should work, people rarely lie about wanting to pay more money.
I understand the time between sleeps is when most of the baby makin’ happened.
How’s the Mrs. doing? Is she starting to recover from her brain injury? I send good thoughts her way on a fairly regular basis.
Our haint’s granddaughter came by today to pick more tax documents. She is getting slightly upset about this because she changed addresses with them back when Donna died. She also put in a change of mail with the post office when we bought the place. That was back in July, so it might have expired. She is going to try to put another one in but we are pretty sure that everything will be resolved by this time next year.
Hubs got in the mood to do our taxes so I pulled up my 1099s and learned that I’m still paying AZ state income tax. I’m fairly sure I got that dealt with, but now we are going to have to deal with AZ income tax next year because I know the retirement system isn’t going to claw this month’s taxes back.
Jolene was such a PITA during my needlework class tonight. She knows that all of those women she is hearing are here to admire her but she can’t find them. She kept jumping on my desk and once jumped on my canvas!!! while she was searching for them. I put her in the tree with GG and he of course wrapped his arms around her and held her down for an earwash and she squirmed around and bit him on the ear and he squeeked and the next thing you know, they were rolling around on the floor with fur flying all over my white threads and canvas. Next week, I’m locking her up with Hubs.
Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and put where it stays until it gets dirty again. Then it was time for nappage followed by day drinkin’. Then we et up leftovers for sup. The excitement never stops here at da cave.
GodBod glad to hear from ya! Go you with the 4.0 GPA! I was not quite that good back in the stone(d) age when I was in kolledge.
Taters I have no words, well no polite ones, for what is happenin’ now. Just hope that some way, some way the FFOTUS will develop some sense. The hope is faint, however.
shoe I am imaginin’ strippers with business cards. Sump’n along the lines of “Ginger Snap, Certified Stripper.”
So apparently last night, instead of backing the package cars into the building, and unloading the pickups/undeliverables onto the belt, the PT driver supes just dumped everything in the parking lot and left (I saw a pic). Also, one of the package cars didn’t go out, and they didn’t cross out the old sort labels when they threw it onto the return belt, so it came back to the 100 Table. And no one was loading Bottom Blue, so that was stuck on the table. They brought me up there, so all that yesterday stuff built up on the slide, since I was there. So I finally got to work on that, and was chasing my tail the whole time. And the rest of the building was about the same, so there was a huge amount of left in building stuff, even with the loading going till 0930. And a huge amount of damages and retapes. I got out after 1:00p.m. Glad none of this was my responsibility. I stopped at Aldi on the way home, $4.99 for a dozen eggs(limit 2). [Old Man]When I was a lad, eggs and TP were so cheap, we’d throw them at the houses of our enemies…[/Old Man] A short nap, now it’s a Manhattan, while watching hockey in Manhattan.
I really have to start doing an afternoon posting, 30+ messages is a lot…anyways, the dental appointment went well, no problems and I’ll see them again in July, so that is done. Pretty much nothing else was accomplished, thought about going to the gym and even had the bag packed, but sloth won out; maybe tomorrow. It’s 48F now and will be in the 60’s tomorrow, so at least the weather is cooperating. Have finished my Mac-n-Cheese with some popcorn for dessert, and will spend the next several hours doing as little as possible.
God Bod, great news on the grades, hope things keep going your way.
Long-time Three Stooges fan, I always knew the violence was cartoon-level with them, but haven’t seen any of their shorts in quite some time…and guess what, there is a You Tube Channel with all 117 shorts…hmmmmm
52 one reason I don’t have cats or dogs, cleaning up after me is enough of a chore…
wet one, hope you get fixed up and riding again soon.
shoe, that was a massively entertaining story and much thanks for sharing it.
flyboy, seems they are making you jump though a number of hoops, but $100 is a $100, so go for it.
Oopsie, hope all the crisis’s settle down.
I am evenly divided between Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Zero.
FCM, found this on Google, it’s AI generated but:
JtC, nice of you to offer to pay for the item, I presume Stilton is not returnable, I’d try to pay for it (see lily’s advice, which I see you took), but if the store says ‘no bother’, then don’t worry about it.
Knots, probably need to see the barber, this old hair doesn’t grow very much but it is beginning to look a little long.
Sticky Buns, hope you and Mom both get good news tomorrow.
And that’s all for this evening. Take care all (goes off to watch Men in Black, the Stooges as Doctors and one of my favorites).
Ms. Dog and I walked 5+ mile, then she played Squirrel Assassin with some decidedly docile little plush squirrels. No matter. It reaffirmed her illusory sense of power.
A block from our street we saw all sorts of flashing lights: police, ambulance, fire trucks. 'Twas an accident. A friendly firefighter told me no major injuries, so that’s a blessing.
There’s a U-Haul downstairs, and lots of footsteps overhead. I’m hoping it’s the corporation moving out and not new people moving in. When did I get so cranky? Oh, yeah, the Kids on Crack last summer.
I’m not saying this to be political, but my daughter, like many other people, is having a rough week. She’s the grant writer for a program that feeds hungry people, mostly the working poor, kids, and seniors on fixed incomes. The program gets–or got–federal grant money. She said cat cuddles are helping her cope. I’m glad, as for the first time ever, I don’t have any rays of sunshine to offer her. I’m just…baffled.
I forgot to say earlier that my newly-published friend did ask if he could quote me, and I said OK, but that was about 10 years ago, so I forgot all about it. It doesn’t really matter since he didn’t use my name.
I don’t know about insurance, but the manager says the maintenance guy has a lot of PTO built up, as he never uses it, even when he should.
I read this as “excursions in pot” and thought, “Whoa, who’s the captain of this cruise ship, Cheech Marin?”
I think my mother felt like this whenever she got us four kids bundled up and out in the snow.
Uh-oh. Would that mean surgery? Fingers are crossed for you!
GodBod, a huge congrats on the 4.0 and the Dean’s List! We’re all so proud of you!
I’m trying. Thanks much!
shoe, that was a great story! Imagine how proud she would have been if you’d graduated summa --oh, wait, that sounds like a very dirty joke. [surreptitiously backs away]
I was a wimp. That was my basic issue. You remember that song, “Leader of the Pack”? My older sister got the 45 and played it several times a day. I plugged my ears during the crash sounds every single time. I should have plugged them for the rest of the song instead. “I felt so helpless/what could I do?” Maybe call for an ambulance?
I’ve never been interested in going on a cruise before…
So guys, the 1000 day old cheese I got is so stinking good! It is rock hard and I have to use a cleaver to cut it, but OMG, it is so worth it. The flavor is intense and there are crystals while I crunch. Even better is that Hubs doesn’t like it at all. He usually eats anything I give him, but he made a face and gave me the rest of his piece after one bite.
It was deli wrapped, so probably not. Plus, we won’t be going back for a couple of weeks and the wedge we brought home will be lucky to make it for three days. Happily for me, Hubs doesn’t like snacking on chunks of it either. (I’ll use some in salad dressing to make it tolerable for him but the rest is MINEMINEMINE!!!) Maybe I’ll wrap the entire wedge in croissant dough and bake it until I can hear it bubble. Then I can serve that with the salad and have green apple slices and thousand day cheddar.
Yeah, it’s possible that I like cheese.
More people wanted this than didn’t want it. I’m not baffled, I’m just defeated. I tried so hard but now I’m tired.
I’m still up because after I finished up with my class, I pulled my easy piece out to work on the border. Borders are usually very relaxing, but tonight it wasn’t because I realized that I had miscounted and was two threads off. First I tried to figure out how to cheat, but due to the stitch involved, just gave up, smoked some weed and ripped it all out. (that’s called Frog Stitching - Rippit Rippit Rippit) The rules of needlework say that once you have fucked something up and Frogged it all back out, you have to do it all again before putting the piece down. Now it is done and I can head off to bed.
A doper’s husband is in the hospital. I don’t want to share who, because I want to protect the Doper’s privacy. Their cat sits by the husband’s chair, crying because he doesn’t know where Catdad is. There were falls, respiratory issues, kidney issues, and salmonella. The Spousal Unit and I are praying for recovery.
Oh dear God, you’re supporting the dog killer aka ICE Barbie.
After Dakota was adopted at the Chicago BREWfest (Beagle Rescue Education Welfare) which is where daughter was told that Dakota was 5-7, she was taken to a vet who said she was 8-10. Even adding 3-1/2 to the 10 doesn’t get to 14+.
JtC yay for some good cheeses. Happy eating.
red Glad you’re feeling much better.
Slept for 2 hrs and woke up feeling much better and was wide awake for my Spartans to win by 22.
I’ve never disputed a charge on my credit card statement before (even though that hotel in Florida apparently charged me $10 for taking a towel and I absolutely did not) but I did today. I ordered something for Christmas presents on Dec 15 and they still hadn’t shown up by today, Jan 28, and the balance on the statement was due today. The woman who took my dispute was so incredibly nice. She said I should have a credit in 1-3 days. That’s the last time I’ll order something from an ad on Instagram.
Had texted a friend about doing an afternoon hike on Thursday since it will be up to 40* and sunny and she said she was in. Then daughter texted and said she has a work meeting in our city on Thursday and would need to drop off Bella. So, instead of going to a state park to hike, we’re going to go to a more local trail and Bella will go with.
Sending all the positive thoughts in that direction.
GodBod conga-rats on the GPA, that’s excellent news!
red glad to hear you’re feeling better.
More good news, even better that Hubs doesn’t like it so you get the whole lot to yourself.
I hope that means an end to your noisy neighbours.
Yesterday was deeply frustrating, I tried to get on with what I wanted to do but I kept getting pulled away to deal with other people’s problems. I logged off at my usual time after agreeing with my minion that the day could just get in the bin! Went off to the kitchen and prepared three days of campus food instead. Then I had some sofa time with Shadow before dinner.
I went to bed not too late, woke up at 3am and have been mostly awake ever since. Now I’m at irk, feels like it will be a long day. My eyes are sore, my head is thumpy and I’m really not mentally prepared for today at all. My plan for this evening is a long soak in a hot bath with a warm cloth over my eyes. Dinner is leftovers from the other day so that just need heating up, and I’ll most likely be having an early night.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 39 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 67 and cloudy. At least there’s no evil white stuff on the ground like last week. We shall procure provisions this mornin’ and be RDOS this afternoon. It’s gatherin’ night over to the church house so we shall sup there. I’m told we are havin’ chikin parm. YUM!
BooFae hope you aren’t comin’ down with anything. That sounds like the evenin’ you need.
Flyboy prayers ascend for the hospitalized doper.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and bother, I suppose I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Woe!
It’s 27F and clear outside. Our expected high temperature is 49F, and sunny skies.
GodBod, congrats on making the Dean’s list and the GPA.
BooFae, I hope you’re not coming down with something and that you feel better soonest.
Johnny, sending my best thoughts to the Doper family.
Shoe, that is a funny story.
Sticky, I sure hope you receive some good news re: the ablation and I hope you feel better soonest.
Yesterday was beyond horrible. I’ve had a very sleepless night. Today will bring more. Lots of tears and panic from people yesterday.
My son is making plans to come up this weekend. I’m not going to count on it. Also, we’re receiving vague threats of lowland snow. I don’t expect much, if any, down my way.
However, I’m supposed to drive up to Mount Vernon and Mukilteo on Tuesday morning, and I’m not looking forward to that drive if the forecast holds true.
