(Old) There are icebergs in my MMP!

Thanks for all the good stuff for Rose. Y’all are the bestest of the best and then some. Forgot to say earlier, but I got the book for the Lenten study today. Haven’t read much yet, but feel it’s goin’ to be a really good read and a great book for study and discussion. It’s not so much about the long term study on happiness, but more about the lessons learned from the study. I also think it might be sort of an emotional rollercoaster of a read. Once I really get into readin’ I am pretty sure I will get all caught up and lost in it all. The sign of a really good book, IMO.

Boo ain’t nuttin’ wrong with those frozen bizkits. I can make a decent from scratch buttermilk bizkit, but they are not as floofy as the frozen ones.

Talky as long as they have a good time cookin’ together and it turns out reasonably edible, then it’s a win-win all around.

Nellie hope the neighbors calm down soonest.

Whew! I didn’t have to call 911. After a few moments, they went back to yelling, and I heard two sets of footprints stomping around, so I just stayed tuned. It’s now quiet up there, so either they resolved things or aren’t speaking to each other. Either one is OK with me.

I don’t mind hearing an occasional argument. It’s an apartment building. You’re going to hear stuff. Violence scares me, though. The first year I lived here, the guy downstairs erupted into screamed curses and started throwing stuff around. We’re talking the china cabinet, pots and pans, the sofa. My neighbor called 911, and the dispatcher could hear the crashing through the floor and over the phone. I called my then-boyfriend, and he came and stayed until I stopped shaking. Does throwing furniture make these people feel better? Because I can’t understand it.

swampy, I missed your earlier post when trying to catch up, but I’m adding Miz Rose to my prayer list. I’m so glad you two got to be pew pals.

My daughter, a huge Beatles fan from way back, saw that show and also raved about it. It sounds phenomenal.

doggio, are you prepping for the bar exam? All these interesting cocktails! I had to look this one up. It sounds similar to a vieux carre. Am I way off?

red, Blue sounds so cute! Nelson has excellent taste in dog pals.

flyboy, the last item on your Got Done list was obviously the most important. :cat2:

Grrrrrrrrr! F!@#ing printer. I hate how Canon printers make you go through the dance of resetting to color (which I always have to try several times to remember just how) every time you change ink. The only thing that I have done so far on the layout is scan pics. I rarely use original photos when I scrapbook, since I like to resize them and many are vintage, so I don’t want to damage them. Oh, well, to quote Scarlett O’Hara, Tomorrow’s another day.

it’s sort of the center of a Venn diagram of a Sazarac, Manhattan, and Vieux Carré. and cocktails kinda my hobby(it goes along with the cooking)

[Office Space]PC Load Letter?!?!?[/Office Space]

Now I’m wishing I had some of those.

Will do! I sure do hope Rose is able to go home, making good friends like you takes time and she won’t know anyone in a SNL.

Isn’t that something the Mrs. could do in her greenhouse? She could use a heavy pot that the cats can’t knock over and drag around. That way you two could save money as well as clean up time.

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

It really does!

I saw one about 15 or so years ago. I still don’t have enough words and I’m sure they have only gotten better. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

I sure do hope that sort of thing doesn’t happen often. I’m also glad that you are feeling better, some of the ick going around here lasts for much longer.

Lets hope this is the worse thing that happens with your project…which sounds wonderful.

Tonight I thawed out some shrimp that I found in the chest freezer. It looked kinda freezer burned but it was the big butterflied ones so I put them in a salt, baking soda and sugar brine for an hour before steaming them.

It seemed to work, the texture was good and they were juicy and not overly shrimpy like old shrimp can be.

Not that the taste would have mattered that much because I covered them with a very garlicy alfredo sauce featuring two year old parmesan. (I ate the rind. If I was a good wife, I would have given half to hubs, but I didn’t, I just ate the entire piece. It was very good and I enjoyed every chew.)

I told hubs that I was serving the shrimp alfredo with peas but did he think he would want a green salad as well. He said he did. I was kinda happy about it because he doesn’t usually ask for “rabbit food”.

Well…he didn’t hear me and didn’t bother to ask what I had said because when I called him to dinner he said he wouldn’t have asked for a salad if he had known I was going to give him a bowl of peas.

He’s really lucky he’s so good looking.

We have an old baking pan. I’ve been thinking about planting grass in it. (FWIW, ‘kitty grass’ is wheat grass.)

I’ve always used oat seeds, but will buy a handful of wheat next time I’m at the feed and grain store. Ain’t nobody going to spoil their cats more than me!!!

Just a quick video to show where we were tonight.

Go for it! swampy approves and we both would want you to have bizkits on demand, breakfast, lunch or dinner.

(adds frozen biscuits to grocery list)

Throw in a jar of your favorite jam or jelly and maybe some honey. I haven’t been able to get past butter (only real of course) and jelly yet but honey drizzled on them is in my future.

1 a.m. here. Woke from stupid dream, only to smell pine quite strongly. Wha?
Gotta get up early cause church.

2:20 in the a.m. and just got home. Jack Frost came by during the wee hours; even the dumpster was dazzlingly sparkly.

Went into work in a still-atrocious mood. No real reason; just the “death by a thousand papercuts” kind of feeling.

Brought a nice meal with me, ate maybe two bites and then spent the entire rest of my lunch break crying in my car. Again, no specific reason - which made me even more upset, so I cried s’more.

And then … I felt better. Guess I had to get, something, whatever, outta my system.

Was bopping around at close, dancing a bit and flirting shamelessly with the Oven Master for the sheer helluvit.

OMG next Sunday is the Superb Owl? Gonna be a helluva night.

… though someone else pointed out that if the Lions hadn’t :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: that last game and had gone to the Bowl, we’d have had to, like, hire temps or something.

:people_hugging: My grandmother was named Rose. Glad she has her “boys” nearby.

That itchiness seems to be persistent. Hope you find the solution soon.

Sounds yummy to me.

I’ll be looking for these during my next U.S. visit.

Yesterday’s long walk meant I went to bed at 9pm last night. Medium lane sounds just fine.

That’s scary. Hope it doesn’t come to that, and that the neighbors start behaving better. It’s no fun being scared in your own home.

Sounds like it’s going well. Hope it tastes good too.

Sometimes tears can be cleansing. Enjoy the sparkly outdoors.

Woke up this morning to fog, which is my favorite weather, especially this time of year. I don’t feel obligated to get outside quite as early.

Yesterday we went to the mall and got a fitness mat (a bit thicker than a yoga mat), some other squishy thing to stand on and a ball, plus a ball pump. All for encouring me to do exercises at home, in addition to the exercise machines at the gym.

Then we went for a long walk. We came home and hubby warmed up the lasagna while I went to the store. Rest of the day was minor cleaning.

Today I will make carrot cake, rice krispy treats and chicken with green beans. Just waiting for hubby to make morning lattes. Might just go with a short walk today, depending on whether the sun breaks through.

I’m still not used to the Superb Owl being in February. Some things just aren’t right. I could go watch it in a bar in Luzern, but I’m not all that interested.

Latte’s ready, so time for breakfast.

I’m sure everyone’s heard about the OMG STORM!!! due in in California. I’m several hundred miles north of the area it’ll be worst in, but we do have weather alerts of our own.

Running a load of laundry to be sure we’ll have enough clean underwear in case of power issues.

There are 3 cruise ships all due into Buenos Aires tomorrow morning. Customs is expected to be insane. We’ve been instructed to be ready to depart at 7:30! I hope we’ll have time to grab a little breakfast first. Buffet opens at 6 - we may have to get up at 5. It’s gonna be a day…

Meanwhile, we’re in Montevideo shortly. We may go ashore for a brief bit, but it’s supposed to be hot, so we’ll see. I hope to get our 2 big cases packed before supper, then early to bed. We’ll need our warm outerwear in our carry-on bags since DCA will be chillier than Buenos Aires.

And we’ve pretty much decided to cancel the Greenland/Iceland cruise next year and instead fly to Iceland and do a driving tour. I had researched packages a couple of years back and I saved the bookmarks. So that will get done in the near future.

I’ll be so glad to be able to post from my PC. Tablet posting is a pain! First World problems… blah blah

Happy Sunday!

I had two cups of water before bed so I’m up to pee now.
No precipitation in sight for almost a week.

Want some of what I’m due for?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 49 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 52 with heavy rain throughout the day. Rain should start around eight a.m. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization followed by first Sunday brunch/chili cookoff. Then it will be back to da cave where we shall stay inside and dry for the rest of the day.

Thanks everyone for all the prayers, good thoughts, vibes etc for Rose. If she does end up at a SNF, it will be a swanky one. Well, swanky as a place like that can get, I guess.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!
