This morning I sent my property manager a follow-up about getting a new storm door: it’s been over a month since he said his brother (who does all of the maintenance) would contact me, and I told him that if I don’t hear from his brother by the end of the week I’ll assume that I have approval to order a new storm door and have it professionally installed. It can take a couple months for Home Depot or Lowe’s to do an installation, and I’d like to have the new one before winter hits.
I also attended one last election-related webinar, specifically for provisional ballot specialists. It was a mandatory recap of what’s new for the upcoming election. I got all of the example questions right during the webinar, even the tricky ones, but then my brain glitched and it took two tries to complete the easy 5-question quiz at the end. Heh.
Work-wise, I attended a meeting, reviewed some graphics, quality checked and submitted our four monthly deliverables, uploaded/updated the associated records, and answered a few unrelated questions. And, thanks to Instacart, I just ate 1/2 a turkey and provolone sub from Wegman’s and some Pringles. Time for a break. My next meeting isn’t until 3:00, I have a 1:1 with my boss at 3:30, and then I have a personal training session at 5:30. I definitely have some work to do when I’m done with this post, but I’m hoping the next couple hours will be on the “reprieve” side.
Because of the aforementioned Instacart delivery I won’t need to go to the grocery store after the gym, which will be kind of nice since it gets dark so early these days. I should be back home before 7pm.
More like I am SUCH an enabler!
At first I wasn’t going to open the front door/raise the storm door pane this morning, because it was 44°F outside, but after I fed Bailey I realized she was waiting for it! She kept going by the front door and giving me meaningful looks, and I finally figured it out. I guess that’s been more of a routine than I realized! So, the house was a bit chilly again this morning…but at lunchtime Bailey settled down in her dog bed (next to me), so I closed the pane/door and turned the heat back on. I warned her that I won’t be able to keep doing that for much longer, because soon enough it will be way too cold outside. And, whenever I finally get a new storm door it won’t have a screen at the bottom – which, frankly, is why I waited until this morning to nag my property manager about it.
HAHAHAHahahaha! *snort*
Ahem.
I wouldn’t count on it. I’ve never known any management company or property manager to proactively change the locks when someone moves out. When I lived in apartments, I always hated having no idea who else might have keys to my door! I couldn’t afford to start changing the locks myself until I began living in townhouses; now it’s one of the first things I do whenever I move into a new place (always with the property manager’s awareness/permission, of course: so far everyone has given me the green light as long as I provide a set of the new keys).
Yay, indeed!
Awww.
Yikes!
