Howdy Y’all! As predicted today has been a day of high RDOS inactivities. I have been feelin’ a little ick since eatin’ the fish and chips from LJS. Several visits to the boys room have been made. However it seems to have settled down. An early bedtime is in store for da bear.
She just doesn’t want anything. If she manages to eat half a cup of anything, she says she’s full and doesn’t want anything else. So those supplement drinks really aren’t an option. I suspect her body is shutting down. I’ve quit trying to get her to eat - it’s not worth the battle.
Just finished 40 minutes on the bike. Shower and bed in the next hour or so.
Well, darn it, feel better! Don’t you know that tomorrow is the weekend and you’ve got to be up and about for the regular sort of sloth?
Jane Dough has left the building! The person that picked her up was very nice and pleasant. I’m glad that went well.
Anyone here dealing with Tardive Dyskinesia? I think I have it. It seems as though there were slight symptoms developing for months, but it’s gotten more intense. Today has been a full day of issues with my mouth. If I stop and try to chill and breathe, I can stop, but then it starts up again. It’s as annoying as hell. I’m going to talk to my psychiatrist next week. I have an appointment with him early next week anyways. I hope this calms down, whatever it is. Ugh.
ETA: I’m not taking an antipsychotic but I guess maybe other meds can cause it, too
We went down the beach for dinner tonight. I wanted pan-roasted rockfish, or mussels in a spicy sauce; but SWMBO said the food at the restaurant gives her indigestion. We went to the place across the street instead. I had the lamb shank because lamb is very rare on American menus. It was excellent. WTF don’t Americans like lamb? It turns out that they only made two servings of the lamb for the ‘special’. Why? Probably because lamb is incredibly rare on American menus. I ate maybe half of it, or a little more. So leftover lamb for me tomorrow!
I have voted and can now stick my sticker with pride. This is so pathetic, but when I saw the section for President of the United States, I started crying. I’m normally not that much of a cryer. I guess this is why I’m taking a break from the news. Anyway, I studied, and I marked my selections. Then I called my sister while I walked to the church with a ballot box in the parking lot. At the ballot box, I always sing Mom’s favorite song, and more y sister sang along with me like an echo since she never remembers the words to “America the Beautiful.” A car pulled up behind me, so I had to sing, “Andcrowntheygoodwithbrotherhoodfromseatoshiningsea” and shove my ballot in the slot. Hmph. Some people have no respect for tradition.
swampy, I sure hope you feel better in the morning. Did OYNW have the same fish you did?
sticky, yay for getting rid of Jane Dough!
FCM, it does sound like your MIL is winding down.
Anybody know what happened to shoe? She hasn’t posted in a few days, has she?
Well that was fun. Driving back down the lake from a fund raiser, and my tire fell off the truck. Like all the lug nut vaporized and it was still there just from luck. Fortunately no severe damage, but I need to get a whole new set of lug nuts, which is going to be difficult, since my current vehicle is lacking said item. The AAA guy took a couple off of some of the other wheels to limp it onto the tow truck and into the driveway. Yes this was the same wheel a different AAA guy put on a couple of weeks ago.
Tsk! You don’t know the right kids, southwest kids know that people who wear such things almost always have treats as well.
It is a lovely piece and the paper rose was a very nice touch!
Thank you for doing that, folks like you are so needed and valued. Back when I worked for the county elections department, a few temps always stayed on after the election. If you are interested in government work, now would be the time to start discussing it with people.
Oh ow! I’m glad you aren’t hurting too bad. Dang about the eggs, I hope it comes off easily.
Super cute and the best part is how happy she looks! Great job, Dad!
I always knew you were a wild woman!
Thank you so much!
Yeah, I knew nobody would ever have guessed, LOL. I don’t really remember it, but Mom has never forgotten hearing the pitter patter of my little feet as I ran across the roof in my attempt to get more lift.
If she doesn’t want it, I took our candy to the election workers in town and they smiled and said thank you.
I’m positive that the shelter will be more than happy to hold kitty for a day or two after the paperwork is signed. 14 is a good age, kitty won’t be bored living with a couple of old farts but will give you some good years full of love before the final heartbreak.
Sometimes not with stuff like that. I usually just take the whole piece apart as well, otherwise there will be little adjustments that have to be made because I cannot sew like a machine. Yet.
I’m so happy for you. That sounded pretty awful and still does.
At least you were able to eat. I hope you wake up feeling totally recovered in the morning!
Oh NO! Why would you share such a thing with the world?!?! Don’t you know that Murphy reads the Dope?
Seriously, congrats. You deserved a little windfall after all of the sudden expenses you have been dealing with of late.
Spot and I napped. I made salmon, brown and wild rice, and sauteed green beans, onions, and peppers for dinner. Drinking my Thunderstruck coffee porter, and since it’s bottled, I can use my Aldi Aisle Of Shame Official RDOS bottle opener to pop the tops. Also, I did laundry, and put it away. More of that tomorrow.
Good luck, and thanks!
Indeed. Reminds me of one F1 race, where Nigel Mansell lost a wheel on the race, because the pit crewman didn’t tighten it. Next race(Hungary), a fan was holding a poster that said HOLD ONTO YOUR NUTS, NIGEL!
I was once at a party for seminary students on Halloween. One guy was St. Bernard, a dog of course. One guy was in a bunny suit as St. Peter of the Cottontail. One guy was St. Sebastian, with fake arrows. One of the best was a British guy with a droll sense of humor. He was dressed in formal evening clothes with a top hat, as Yves St. Laurent.
And another late-night report. Refereed two games without any incidents (well, none for me, one coach messed up (you’re supposed to play all your players 3/4 of the game before anyone plays the whole game, this guy had 2 kids play one half each and everyone else on his team played the whole game and lost the points his team had earned when they forfeited the game). No booing of the ref and I got a lot of good running in without tiring, so all that exercise apparently is doing me good. Tomorrow is going to be busy, coaching 3 games and refereeing at least 1 between 9am and 5pm, so there may be a lack of Rat sightings hereabout.
swampy, hope your internal system is feeling less ick-ish.
I don’t know any Russian women… Seriously, looked it up and doesn’t sound like I should be joking about it, does not sound pleasant at all. Take care and hope it’s treatable.
nellie, conga-rats on the voting; I have to wait in Ali-bama until Tuesday because they don’t believe in early voting down here…
VanGo, I doubt I would be as composed as you if my tire suddenly decided to depart my car. At least it seems the damage wasn’t too severe.
JtC, that not a bad idea, we’ll see how much is still hanging around by then (might take it to the soccer fields tomorrow, with a couple hundred kids around there, shouldn’t be hard to get rid of.
And heading off to bed so I can get an early start on tomorrow. Take care all.
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/52f with a predicted high of 13c/55f and cloudy. Weather app says “All of the fucking clouds can go and fuck all the way off.” It is cloudy and overcast out there but there’s no precipitation in the forecast.
I think that would scare her off completely! Fortunately, I apparently have the vocal equivalent of a pointy stick
Taters sorry to hear that your newbie is causing so much bother too - in that position, I’d have taken all the help I could get!
That’s more what I’d expect to see when Villa play The Baggies
That sounds like an excellent plan, and good for you taking on an older cat. They are the ones who really need a good home to relax in.
Moooom I’m sorry you’re having such a tough time with MIL while you’re still trying to hang on to your sanity. The extra money is a welcome surprise though!
I hope you feel better soon, the RDOS lifestyle is perfectly suited a day of feeling ick though.
Yay! I am sorry about the ignorant driver though, he obviously didn’t appreciate the sentiment.
Eeek! I’m glad to hear there was no serious damage to the truck or to you. Did the AAA guy not do the job right in the first place?

Yesterday evening was the local “official” bonfire night fireworks thing in the park near us. I could hear fireworks from about 6pm through to just after 11pm. I know they had two displays in the park (one early for kids, a later one for adults) and some other stuff going on afterwards so the really late fireworks were from other people. The cats were not happy at all. Neither was I, 'cos I was really tired and wanted to get to bed but there’s no point when it sounds like WW3 outside.
Anyway, I slept in a bit this morning so that’s good for me. My plans for the day are slightly different to my usual. I decided to cancel the morning gym classes in favour of other stuff (putting some colour on my hair, doing half of tonight’s dinner prep, going into town) first, then I can go to the gym while the football’s happening as everywhere will be much quieter. Tonight, I will be having some sofa time, hopefully with a cat or two for company.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 59 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 83 and N.O.S. I am much better today. Whatever it was settled down and I slept well. I am hongry, so I guess that’s a. good sign. My Dawgs will eat some gator this afternoon at the WLOCP*. Also the investiture of the new Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church is happenin’ this mornin’. Tomorrow is first Sunday brunch, and we will bring some pulled poke, buns, bbq sauce, slaw, and a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea. Dang, this will be a busy day for me! I might not be able to achieve nappage!
*WLOCP = World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. The Jawja-Flahrduh game has a history of bein’ a huge party.
VanGo YIKES! You were a lot calmer than I would have been.
{{{Sticky_Buns}}} definitely talk to your psychiatrist about this. Hope it’s not TD, but if it is there are some meds that can help ease symptoms.
Nellie yay for votin’!
MetalMouse I bet the kids will love you even more for the candy.
BooFae will there be earth shatterin’ ka*booms from now until November 5th? That’s the way it is here in the days leadin’ up to and includin’ Independence Day.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Annie and I are sitting here getting ready to eat (my) breakfast. Then onto a little bit of housecleaning and some crafty stuff. The Christkindl market that I’m participating in is coming up in about 3 weeks, so I’ve got to get busy!
The TD symptoms are still there. This morning seems a bit better. I find it very stressful having strangers coming to my house to sell things, so I’m sure that anxiety added a bit.
Touching up your natural color or having fun with bright non-hair colors? I wish I had the nerve to put some cherry red or regal purple in my hair, but I’m pretty sure I’d be too self-conscious. No clue why, but there ya go.
VanGo - dang, dude! That’s just too scary! Glad you’re not hurt and your vehicle isn’t totaled or anything like that. But DANG!!!
Today is day-early-FCD-birthday-late-lunch/early-supper date day! Daughter is getting here around noon with her spawn, her dog, and her laundry. There’s a Domino’s right along her route to my house, so I’ll have pizza and garlic knots ready for her to pick up when she’s headed here. We’ll head out around 1 or so and try to have a leisurely meal, tho we tend to be fast eaters.
But before that, I need to run to the credit union to deposit the surprise check, then a quick run to CVS to get my sweetie’s meds. The credit union closes early on Sat, otherwise we’d go there on our way to the restaurant. No biggie - it’s only about 10 minutes away or so. That’s pretty much all we have planned for today.
I don’t know what FCD was dreaming this morning, but he was beating the crap out of the side of my pillow. Luckily, my head wasn’t in the line of attack. Plus when I shook him and said something, he woke enough to stop then go back to sleep. Poor guy is way too stressed these days, what with his mom, his brother, and losing his dog. We just need all of this to be over.
That’s the other thing - he feels guilty for wanting it to be over. Which of course would mean his mom is gone, which is where the guilt piles on. I know how he feels, sorta, but since it’s not my mom, it’s not as intense a guilt. It all needs to be behind us so we can have our lives back…
And on that cheery thought, it’s 48°, which is a shock after 2 days of wearing shorts. Such weird, dry weather, but maybe rain next week, maybe.
Morning all. Actually slept until the alarm went off today, my first game isn’t until 9:30am so I have some time to get organized. 60F now heading to 77F and no rain, so almost a perfect day for soccer. If all goes as planned I won’t be home until after 5pm and maybe later…we’ll see.
I understood that reference.
FCM, enjoy the Date Meal and hope it helps FCD with the pressure he’s under.
swampy, glad you are feeling better, brunch tomorrow sounds delicious.
And now needs to break my fast and then get everything gathered up for a day at the soccer fields.
