(Old) Up, Up and Away in the MMP

ARE YOU READ FOR SOME preseason HANDEGG!?!?!?!
Up from naptime, and watching the Green Bay game. Dinner tonight is a Mai Tai, Smoked Paprika chicken, with Italian seasoned potato rounds, and spinach with bacon and pepper.

M-16 or High Times?

Neither am I.

Those two go hand in hand.

Spot welcomes your adoration.

That’s a telenovela level swoon.

That’s the first time I saw 'em. \m/–\m/

Poor Otis - wiped out after the trauma of being bathed 9 hours prior…

Imgur

I’m wiped out, too. Nighty-night!

The thing about irking 08:45 to 18:45, is that I don’t have time to do anything during the week. (OK, I can go to Trader Joe’s, as it’s across the street.) So it’s hard to find an anniversary card for Saturday. But the corner market had an acceptable one, so I’ll give it to Mrs. L.A. tomorrow, along with some flowers. (Our 11th anniversary is Saturday.) We’re going up to Vancouver, BC for dinner at Au Comptoir. It’s about 37 miles from here, so I think we’re giving ourselves two hours to arrive at out 17:00 reservation.

I’m wearing Ron Jon short shorts (that they no longer sell), and a blue Ron Jon T-shirt that is made of an unfamiliar material.

Ollie: “Wut?”

Happy almost-anniversary to you and Mrs. L.A., flyboy!

I totally get this.

Evening all. Soccer has been refereed and dinner consumed, so nothing else is planned until tomorrow. Temperature is ‘only’ 84F, but it will get down to 75 soon enough, but back into the 90’s tomorrow. Oh joy.

Bright Tree, a good solution and good on ya for letting others share your blood. And love that Ollie-shot.

Fascinating discussion on vet costs, all. I’ve never owned a pet while on my own, so never encountered the costs, but am amazed at what it runs these days.

FCM, Otis could be a Mumper, he knows how to sloth like a pro…

VanGo, great pics of Ms. Peach. Love that floppy ear look.

Lily, one cat spies, the other is in the Prime of their life…

Coppertone, thanks for proving once again people are, individually, pretty good folks…

Flyboy, happy upcoming anniversary!

And 9:15pm so will be heading off to Slumberland in the near future, so take care and I’ll catch up with y’all tomorrow.

There’s a raffle on Farcebook where the prize is a stainless steel and gold Rolex Submariner w/date. Back in the '90s, it was the watch I coveted. Today? I like my black-and-red, jubilee bracelet, stainless steel GMT Master II, and my 1978 stainless steel non-date sub. The watch I loved in the '90s just doesn’t do anything for me. I’m not a huge fan of gold. What I would like to have now is the cheapest Rolex: An Air-King 14000, blue dial, stainless steel, with no numerals.

I fear I might have the lettuce disease. That’s all the attention I can give.

Better out than in. Stay hydrated.

Happy anniversary!

Also, I missed the Snowbirds performing over White Rock, BC.

(((VanGo)))

Trying to get Nelson settled back down. The next door neighbor just came home sounding inebriated. Her daughter is staying at her place and the neighbor has spent the last 20 minutes pounding on the door and yelling let me in . I recorded it with the date stamp and emailed it to management. She has Nelson and the good neighbor on the corner’s dogs all barking. She really needs to get a handle on the drunken disturbances.

I got slightly into it with Alternate Manager today.

A while later, when things got quiet, we talked & worked things out.

An hour before close, I couldn’t remember what the hell we got all pissy with each other about, and she couldn’t either. So we had a laff about how, well, guess it couldn’t have been that bad.

Then I was cleaning under the fryers and hit something from earlier to clean up, and the whole shebang flew right back into my brain.

Look, I’m notorious for not asking for help. (All of my besties and exes are together laughing hysterically right now.) I had one (1) ticket, but it was a BEAST and everyone else was standing around picking their noses phones. When I bleated, like a stoopit lamb, “Lil help please?” I got laughed at.

“One ticket?!”

Full rack of ribs, two sub sammiches (those all take a while) plus some other fried stuff. No pizza tickets, y’all standing around shooting the shit, leaving me in the lurch. No help. Fuck all y’all wanting free rides.

Hmph.

First place I looked at, the FIRST qualification was .. deep breath, here we go

“Friendly attitude, even with disgruntled coworkers.”

Jeebus, hard pass. Why are your employees so disgruntled that it’s part of the FIRST THING YOU SAY IN YOUR JOB REQUIREMENTS?

But nobody wants to work anymore.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s 76 degrees Ferret Height(24.444 Centipedes)

< gestures at everywhere >

The laundry did indeed dry before bedtime. I may do sheets today, so I can go out early at the weekend, if I can think of anything nice to do.

The ratties’ gotcha day is a couple of days before my thesis due date. I hope they won’t notice if I celebrate it afterwards…

If it was a total, I would have put the effort in, but truth be told I’d not even realised we were going to get anything worth bothering with until a day or two before, by which point glasses were unavailable. If I’d gone to the crowded spot I probably would have been able to borrow a pair for a bit, but then I wouldn’t have got any of the cool nature stuff.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 93, with a heat index of 111 this afternoon, and sunny, but becomin’ partly cloudy mid-afternoon. The big item on today’s agenda is to funeralize. I must also make many chikin sallit sammiches to take for the reception afterward. On the plus side I do have time for some RDOS sloth this mornin’. Any need to feed today will be via forage, OYKW can fend for himself and will since he will not be attendin’ the funeral stuff. It’s just the burial rite of the day sans Communion, so the service will be shorter, so there’s that I reckon.

**VanGo ** thanks for the Ms Peach pic. Hope you’re over the lettuce disease by now.

Lily If it fits, I sits! Thanks for the pic of the kittehs..

Coppertone we must fight ignernce whenever we can! Of course you know Motorhead.

doggio it will be handegg season when my DAWGS play their first game. Spot does not look amused. What did you do!

MOOOOOOM Otis endured unspeakable horrors, so of course he’s wiped out!

FlyBoy an early happy anniversary to you and the missus!

BrightTree Ollie looks like he’s sayin’ this pic is gonna cost ya a treat.

shoe glad you could resolve the conflict with A.M. Sometimes all you can do is take a deep breath and say, “it all pays the same.” At least I remember findin’ that helpful at times.

nuts good to know you got to sleep in dry jammies.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I shall purtify, be a RDOS sloth for a bit, make sammiches, don appropriate attire, and go funeralize.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Except for the times he’ll bring me a slobber-covered toy to play fetch - that’s fun…

Dang - no kidding! It reminds me again how fortunate I was that I never had to work at feeding or dealing with customers. Suddenly the summer days in the unairconditioned building basement boxing up files for storage don’t seem quite so horrible…

Today will be a late laundry day. We’ll be taking the cabinet to the boat and installing it. So I won’t attack the dirty clothes till later. Forecast is for hot, humid, and rain/t-boomers on and off till the wee small hours.

Weekend plans will include tidying (hiding miscellaneous clutter) ahead of my mom’s visit. I do need to declutterfy anyway, but the visit is the nudge I need. Nothing more exciting than that on tap. So far.

Happy Firday!!

Shoe, I guess it’s nice of them to warn you before you apply at least…

Why are there never any ads like…

  • Ability to cope in a relaxed, low pressure environment
  • Friendly to nice co-workers, tolerate others when reasonable

Today’s laundry excitement is that the addition of my dressing gown to today’s wash meant the machine couldn’t complete the final spin properly, so it’s all a lot wetter’n it should be. Luckily it’s warm and dry with a fresh breeze and I got it out pretty early, so it should all dry OK.
