(Old) Whatcha want on your MMP...izza?

Happy Moonday!

It’s not too hot outside. I was just out with the pups and it looked like it was going to rain. Now the sun is shining brightly.
My phone says it’s 85 degrees. It didn’t feel that hot.

Rayleigh appears to be better this morning.
I got one baby aspirin into him. He spit the other one out and Echo grabbed it before I could.

Adam is, and has been, making me crazy.
I think he needs more attention, and we are trying to give it to him.
If I’m sitting outside, he’ll keep going in and out.
When he comes over the gate, he’ll sit and wait for the dogs to notice him before he’ll run to the door to be let in. Screaming bloody murder, the whole time because the dogs are chasing him.
This morning he sat next to me while I pet him. Then he asked to go in, all fine. He comes back out and leaves. Then as soon as I opened the door to let the dogs in, he ran through the door, through the house, and wanted to be let out front.
When the pups are resting, he’ll walk back and forth in front of them until one of them finally gets up, then he runs like hell, screaming the whole time.
He’s the bratty sibling who teases the other kids, then gets mad when they respond.

Pizza, I prefer hand tossed. Thin crust is okay, I don’t like deep-dish at all.
I like extra sauce, with sausage, green peppers, and onions,
Years ago, I went to a deli and ordered green peppers on my pizza. They looked at me like I was crazy and asked if I was sure.
Wasn’t long before green peppers were added to the menu.
I don’t like cooked pineapple, so that is a big no.
When we order pizza here, we each get what we like, and get several meals out of it.
Anything that can be delivered and will last for several meals/days is a win for me.
I’m not a sloth, I’m just flat out lazy.

JtC, you are right, it is a mobile home not a trailer. I never thought about the difference but I can see that there is one.
This one has been remodeled so much that you’d never know it was a mobile home at one time.
The layout of the house is a little weird, but I have seen that in stick-built houses that have had multiple additions.

Shoe, I have read enough about Bindweed to know I do not want to dig up some and plant it in the backyard.
Although Bindweed vs. Broad Leaf Plantain could be an interesting battle.
I hate BLP, but I was reading about it and it’s good for a certain type of butterfly and the seeds are good for birds to eat. It’s edible and good for you, but I have no intention of trying it.
It is supposed to be good for wasp and bee stings, to crush or chew the leaves and apply to the sting/bite.

I really should be a good neighbor and deweed my yard. We keep it whacked short so it’s not out of control.
One of the things on my ToDo List is to spray weed killer in the side yard. I put down rocks and the weeds are growing through them. I think instead of weed killer though, we will put industrial strength vinegar in the sprayer instead.

{{{Taters}}}

I didn’t get as much done today as I needed to.
Basically, the whole weekend was a bust in terms of getting things done.

It’s after 9, I need some sleep, a lot of sleep it seems.
I keep falling asleep just sitting in the chair.
I had a mess of phone calls to make today, and I didn’t make any of them.
I didn’t have my phone for the morning anyway. I thought I left it upstairs, and I wasn’t going to go back up to get it.
I found it on the back porch where it must have fallen out of my pocket.
At least I got rid of a lot of papers on my desk.
Also found an invitation to a party that was two days ago. I need to send a card with some money to the graduate. And apologize.

Answerint the OP I love anything but pineapple on pizza. My favorite is mixed topping that places often call supreme but Greek pizza is good. And YES, I do like anchovies, and will sometimes have just a one topping pizza with them.

I’ve spent the better part of today processing a bunch of veggies. Since Saturday I’ve been dehydrating a big variety to make veggies for soup mix in the winter. I got a great deal at the Farmer’s Market with a big box of odd shaped tomatoes and have been chopping for salsa fresca as well. Overnight I’ll let them soak together and add a little seasoning and freeze tomorrow into several packages. The liquid that drains off of the veggies makes a homestyle version of V-8. It’s just a little thinner than the canned variety, but pour it on ice and it’s a tastly and healthy drink.

Evening, mumpers! It’s currently 22c/71f with a predicted high of 31c/87f and cloudy. Weather app says “What a fucking amazing night. Let’s drink and be merry until the fucking sun comes up.”

We had a very quiet evening last night at Diamond Lake as there was no cell coverage and no wifi. We left this morning and drove to Crater Lake National Park - spent about 4hrs touring the park, taking pics and enjoying the peace. My farcebook friends will be able to see the pics!

We left eventually and drove to Klamath Falls for tonight’s motel stop. Found a bar for a couple of drinks then went next door to a fab Mexican restaurant. Now back at the motel with a beer, planning tomorrow’s route.

Crater Lake blows my mind.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off t heave.

Because …cat.
But yeah for making some progress.

Glad you’re enjoybg, boofae.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 93 and N.O.S. for the day. There will be nonsloth for at least part of the day. Mowage shall be accomplished and ‘tis also laundry day, which as we all know, is the most excitatin’ day of the week! If’n all that gets done this mornin’ the afternoon can be devoted to sloth. Sup shall be boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit, and cheesey garlic bread.

MetalMouse hope you made it home safe and sound at a not too unogly hour.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Mornin all from pre-dawn steamy Texas. Awoke a bit before my alarm, am sheveled & dressed, so have time to commune briefly w y’all before a long day’s irk. Zooming back home to FL, down to a Caribbean paradise, then straight back home to end the trip. Should be back to the apartment and sipping a cocktail by usual bedtime. Hope to not irk again on Wed but never say never. It is summer.

@scareyfaerie: Eons ago I took a sawmill tour in Klamath Falls. Got to see many aspects of the process of turning wet logs into lumber. If you or partner like that sort of stuff it’s definitely an experience you won’t get at home. If such tours still exist. There being not much else but trees, rain, & scenery in that part of Oregon it might be a local highlight.

Ah, nope.

It’s 6:25am and I’m still in Atlanta. My late flight (11:20pm) got canceled and they rebooked me on a connection with American via Charlotte that left at 7:20am today. So I used the hotel voucher they gave me, got about 5 hours sleep, and came back to the Airport a 5am this morning (because Atlanta) and…they then found me a direct flight home, however, it doesn’t leave until 11:45am, so I get to spend 5+ hours in the airport awaiting transportation. I know these things happen and Delta has been more than generous (meal and hotel vouchers) along with the $800 for giving up my seat), but damn, I’m getting too old for these shenanigans. Guess I’ll see how I am in sleeping in airports. Also, they have many seats here equipped with electrical outlets, but none seem to work, and my cellphone has up and died after passing security, don’t know why (it was working fine at the hotel and check in this morning), so that will need looking into.

Apologies for not engaging with all y’all, but the brain fog is heavy and the battery (both computer and human) is draining. All y’all take care and I’ll let you know when I (and hopefully, my luggage) return home.

That sounds like a hard way to earn $800.

Not that you asked, but when I make Toasted Almond (which is what Kahlua and cream and Amaretto is) I use half as much Amaretto as Kahlua. I don’t know if that’s the actual recipe, but it works for me.

SIL gave FCD a bottle of 12-y/o whiskey - not sure where he got it, but neither he nor Daughter drink whiskey. And so far, FCD just occasionally drinks Fireball. I’m pretty sure dumping some cinnamon in this stuff won’t make pseudo-Fireball… :open_mouth: But once upon a time eons ago, I used to like whiskey sours that my dad whipped up in the blender, so I may try that.

OMG - we used to have that all over our yard when I was a kid - never knew what it was called, but I knew it was a weed. I learned something today!

That doth sucketh mightily! And it’s what I fear most. If we get delayed flying to our cruise, we’re screwed - we won’t be able to make it. (I wonder if we should have planned to fly to Santiago a day early??) Delays coming home will just piss us off. But $800 ain’t nothing to sneeze at!

It’s not yet 7 and FCD has already left for the school. I’ll be heading to Food Lion shortly (they open at 7) because I forgot yesterday that we were out of milk, and I’ve got 2 kids coming over. I need to get something for their lunch, too - maybe ravioli, since it’s easy and they both love pasta dishes. It’s going to be hot and muggy - rain promised late. Maybe I’ll take them to a playground early, then home for lunch, and basement play till it’s time to take them to their mom. Sounds like a plan.

The rest of this week is going to be hot. rah. Not a fan of summer.

Happy Tuesday anyway!

Correction: Three bottles of rum.

Good morning.

It’s 57F and partly cloudy with an expected high of 75F, along with partly cloudy skies. We did receive a little rainfall yesterday and I was grateful for it because it helps clear the air out and of course, free lawn watering!
Sorry, I lost track; are you temporarily babysitting “your” plants, or have they been returned to the mother ship?
@purplehorseshoe These are large plant baskets and plants that I had given to the kids as gifts over the last few months, but they are moving to north central Missouri to the farm they own and they would not survive the trip. So, I now have four huge additional plants on my front porch, plus another huge basket in the backyard.

Work was long and to be honest, I didn’t really get much done. I had the blahs. I got enough done to be considered productive, I guess, but my heart wasn’t in it. I am so ready for my vacation to start. Today is a bit over a half day and then I have an appointment for my haircut and toning.

Yesterday, my husband excitedly told me he had purchased the ingredients to make homemade pepperoni pizza. I asked about veggies such as onions and peppers. Nope, nary a vegetable was purchased. I do not like all-meat pizza, especially pepperoni. It’s too oily and gives me indigestion. I’m going to purchase some veggies on my way home from the hair appointment.

The kids fly out tomorrow. I know my daughter is super excited about starting a new chapter in her life and is looking forward to a less hectic life pace. This week, I’ll pack up the toybox I have for the grandkids and move it and their “nesting” blankets to an upstairs closet. The big riding toys will be put away too. No need to keep that stuff out since they won’t be here often.

Sorry to read you still haven’t made it home, Metal Mouse. I foresee a long nap when you do arrive home. I hope you get the phone situation squared away, otherwise, I guess we all know where part of that 800 smackeroos is going.

nellie, I just love your way with words and laughed at your comments regarding a shot for a shot and turning down dogsitting to make up drinks with Fabio-bartender.

Welp, another workday awaits. Fun times!

Oftentimes, that’s me, too. But I have great limits on my time, help available, etc. and still a huge list of “needs doing”. I also have a heart murmur that demands that I relax and get some good sleep every night. Not that I can actually do that, but making that effort means I can’t overdo the unpacking effort. Now, If I can just find the wheel that fell off my bed frame…

Really? I want to try that sausage. Most of the sausage on pizzas here (Upper Midwest) is so bland I barely know it’s there.

Have any of you had a Thai Peanut pizza. They consist mainly of peanut sauce, chicken, green onions and cheese. Some also correctly have carrot and cilantro. The caloric value is through the roof but so damn tasty. I splurge annually.

I’ve been known to ship clothes home if it is cheaper than the cost of luggage. It’s an option for you should you get the urge to buy something new in NY.

That’s the future I’m hoping for. I am either pale or bright red and now I’m craving a mojito.

Glad for that. I hope you’re home now and the passenger is okay.

Okay, I need to head for irk a bit early today to chat with clients. You all have a good day. Tonight, it’s back over to the apartment for a bit more unpackage. And today, I’ll have trash bags, soap, and a pair of scissors to help in my work.

Pepperoni, onion, green olive, jalapeno, artichoke hearts is my go to pizza. For my wife substitute mushroom for the olives  . I can’t do mushrooms on/in anything.

For my cousin and another friend, since they’re vegetarian, we switch the pepperoni for tomato. Or get an olive oil or white pizza.

Ham/pepperoni and pineapple is great. Add jalapeno and it’s called a volcano around here.

Happy Toosday!

It was a nice 69 degrees at the park this morning.
The GR are really getting into going and loving it.
Misiu wants to be friends with everybody, human and dog. Humpy growls at him all the time and he doesn’t care. Rayleigh is typical Shar Pei, a bit reserved and he’ll make friends on his terms.
Neither of them clings to me or to Echo, or while they play with each other, they don’t cling to each other. I see confidence and independence, and that is a good thing.
They ran and played a lot and both were asleep before we got home.

I saw on FB that another cousin died. Actually, another of my mother’s cousins. I didn’t know him very well, but I’ve heard a lot about him over the years.

I have to make phone calls today. Pull my head out of the sand, put on my big girl panties, and deal with the bullshit.

I’m sorry you are having travel issues MetalMouse, hope you get home and get some rest soon.

I don’t like pepperoni on pizza. I don’t like it period.
My ex, Wayne the Pain, liked to get everything but anchovies on his pizza. It didn’t taste like pizza anymore.

Taters, I agree that Nellie has a way with words.

Happy travels BooFae. It sounds like you are having a good time.

In addition to the phone calls, Lawyer, Dr 1, Dr 2, I need to make reservations for daycare Hump Day. I think I’ll send Misiu this week since Rayleigh was sick. Both GR desperately need to be bathed. A bill to pay, and a bunch of other piddly crap that won’t take long each, but will easily take an hour or more to do them.
Irk sent an email about some new procedures. I glanced over it, but I need to read it a few more times and figure it out.

Mostly reasonable heaving. They started a few Blueberries today. Dunno if that’s a good sign or not. Spot is being a two year old, which isn’t suprising since he actually is a 2 year old boy.

Always use a good suitcase or locking tote. Trust me on this one.(and make a back up copy of your shipping label and put it in the inside.)

Sounds like spot. I wonder how he likes dogs.
Sorry about the cousin, and the bullshit.

Ham and jalapeno sounds good.

I’d do it.(the Cincinnati airport has some really great bars if you’re stuck there for 8 hours)

Sunday Vignettes

I love/hate those calls.

“Hi, can I get a big pizza? With, like, everything on it.”
“Sure, so that’s ground beef, chicken, anchovies, garlic …”
" — WHAT NO! I just wanted { two random toppings, usually pepperoni and a veg }
“… okay, so, NOT everything. Got it. What size?”
“Uh, small?”
Me, quietly to myself: “I hate you.”

Most customers, who have not been raised by wolves, say something like, “Thanks!” or “Thank you!” or “Yay!” when I hand over their order.
Some just grunt, but that technically counts as an interaction.

One guy on Sunday said out loud, “I am grateful” and then glanced up with the “Sorry, I’m being weird” look, and frankly, dude, we be weird together.
But at least you’re grateful, and not watching XXX porn on your phone while waiting for your food, right where I “get” to see it; or lighting a blunt AS the wind blows all your stuff right into the kitchen.
Dude, we employ minors … and imma get the munchies in a sec.

Another guy in the lobby brought us a bunch of old-ass Christmas candy. Red/green wrappers, etc.
Manager put it on the break table anyway … man, you never seen sharks go for it, or leopards pounce, like a pack of teenagers told “there’s some candy!”
I scored one single dark chocolate Dove, but it was like snatching a fish from a bait ball.

Guy pulled up, asks for his order, we have nothing like it. (This happens ALL THE TIME ppl order at one location, roll up to another )
I explained that his order was placed at { other location } and he fumes at me, “You need to fire whoever took my order! That person was SO RUDE!”
“Well, sir, we can’t fire someone who works at an entirely different location sorry, we can’t fire someone who doesn’t work here…”

… and then the kicker. The reason my manager was kind of laughing at me out of the corner of her eyes at the end of the night …

Guy was nicely waiting for his pizza. I gave him the “it’ll be ready in X minutes” update, and he asks, how much would it be to add a large pepperoni to his tab.
“It’ll be $X amount, but yours is literally coming up now, do you want to wait for both?”
“Nah. It’s for that homeless guy out by your dumpster.”

… so I’m writing a ticket, having already called out “Large Pepperoni, no ticket!!” to the kitchen so they can get it started, and so I write “Homeless Guy???” on a fresh ticket and ring them up, while only semi-processing what is happening.

Hand over their pizza, they drive off … homeless guy walks up, I confirmed everything.
I explained the “homeless guy” ticket to my manager while wiping tears off my cheeks, she made & baked the most beautiful single topping you ever saw, I put together a bag (napkins, plates, wet wipes, some plastic forks and stuff) and he was so gently nice when I handed it all over out the window … and I caught my manager smiling at me out of the corner of my eye.

… I had to go refill the pop cooler (the Coke machine, for those of us who don’t call it “pop”) for a while until I could compose myself.

Nice story.

It’s grey today, so I decided to wear a vest and jacket. (And a plain, white T-shirt because SWMBO likes it when I wear one under a dress shirt.) Of course it’s going to be 72°F today. I feel a bit over-dressed as it is (though I’m guessing I’m not, to a visitor from abroad like Boo Fae); but in addition to that it’s going to be a pretty warm day.

I decided to be adventurous today and accompanied the Ms to the grocery. Walked all over the store, got our stuff and made it home without much issue, other than a bit of dizziness. Longest walk since the surgery. I must look very pale, as the produce guy was eyeing me with some concern. Icing the knee now.

I went back on the Tramadol so I can get some decent sleep. Stuff has some side effects, but it’s worth it to get some rest.

Reporting on cnn that the ups strike might be settled!

In other news, lager and I are back from the vet. His bottom canine looks like it will not last long. We are awaiting the results of the blood and urine test to see if he can handle the dental procedure.

He is down to 11 something pounds! He just keeps dropping weight. We may have to up his food intake. Lucky, his blood sugar levels have been really good lately, 130- 160 ish. I think he is in remission, but the pancreatitis does still occur and that will double his level.

The vets were impressed by my little vial. It does showcase his fang nicely. Like a proper specimen. I may have to give them a few.
