(Old) Whatcha want on your MMP...izza?

Well I made it to the pool and swam 10 lengths so a 250. Not that far but you have to start somewhere. Then I did a little water exercise: crisscross jumping jacks, star jumps, rocket jumps, cross country ski, twists and jogging in place. When I was halfway home, I discovered I didn’t have my swim cap so I had to walk back. No one had turned it in so I walked through the bathhouse and onto the deck, past the wading pool and hey, there it was between the wading pool and the 50 meter; yay! I felt so refreshed; exercise in water is one of the best exercising.

Took a shower then made a peach, strawberry, banana milkshake using lactose free milk and lactose free ice cream so Hubs could have a glass. It was delish!

I do too. Time was, towns and states had their own unique flavor. Nowadays one can drive coast to coast and never leave the comforts of home.

Sad news for those of us who loved the over the top kitsch…The Flintstone’s Bedrock City in Williams is closed. That one was almost as much fun as Santa’s Village in CA.

Dinner was delish! I had a toasted crab and avocado samach and half a bowl of lobster bisque. The place was pay at the counter after watching your food prepared Subway style. When I got to the door, a young couple (19-20) were going in and he was holding the door for her. He saw me and stepped back to hold the door for me to go first. His lady saw that and told me to please go first because they had to decide.

The line was long enough that I was able to hear them discussing the same combo deal I choose, but they were going to share. They also discussed teachers and other students and were so nice and cute about it (oh, well, yes, Mrs Smith seems harsh, but she really does care about our education) that when we were standing in front of the dessert counter and they started discussing which dessert they were going to pick after they got paid that I couldn’t stand it.

I told them to pick one for me to buy for them and of course they were happy amazed “Oh, you don’t have to do that!” They did choose and I paid and they smiled and thanked me and I felt that I had done a good thing.

Then I came online and read about shoe’s customer and got all awwwww cause feeding hungry college kids isn’t nearly the same as feeding some poor person digging for food in a dumpster.

The hot tub was hot, the kids in the pool were loud so I ignored them for 15 minutes and came back and got a shower. My hip feels so much better that I will be sure to soak again tomorrow.

I kinda messed up, tomorrow Mom goes to the bar and plays trivia with all the young guys. I don’t think I will get there in time to take her and play myself-I’m also a font of mostly worthless information but I don’t want to show up mid-game, so my plan is to have dinner before checking in and then take my time unpacking and soaking in the outdoor (quieter) hot tub then see Mom in the morning. She hasn’t been sounding that well, so we will probably just hang out and maybe go out for lunch.

I ran the ovens again for several hours tonight, until I finally had to tap out. It’s not the heat; it’s physically taxing on my wrists and especially my hands.

Hopefully those little tiny muscles will build up.

Ugh, my mother started making noises the other day about visiting AND STAYING HERE I may not have reacted well.
But I hafta call her tomorrow (it’s her name day) and I’m not looking forward to that.

Isn’t that the BEST feeling?

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

{{{{shoe}}}}

Yeah, most guys have those muscles built up three weeks after puberty hits.

i have eaten so much pizza that I don’t want it anymore but i like a couple of "designer "pizzas…

actually, this is the only "food hack " I know for the past 2 decades dominos Pizza has had a deal where you can have various things for 6.99 if you order more than one thing The pizzas are 2 topping mediums

Well I like their BBQ chicken pizza but since its a “premium pizza” they start at like 12.95

What iI do is order it as a 6.99 med but instead of onions I get mushrooms…you can also do that with their Philly cheesesteak pizza too but I’m finally getting to where I don’t mind green peppers and onions

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 94 and N.O.S. for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is to procure provisions. We shall also go sup at Sonny’s as they have a special wherein one gets ribs, pulled or sliced poke, two sides and a drink for the low price of $10.99. Other than that it shall be a day of high sloth bein’ as yestiddy was a day of somewhat high productivity at least for us.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, I must need purtify and don attire appropriate for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. How I suffer for the public!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

As well as things you don’t want to know and may lead to night terrors… :open_mouth:

Beats waking up with the horse bridle on you, unless you’re into that sorta thing… not my place to judge.

I had a pretty decent sleep, even tho I woke around 4. Today is Sprayground Day - one of Roxy’s pre-school classmates is going to meet her there for a play date. I’ll just sit in the shade while the kids run amok. Afterwards, I’ll take them to their house and wait for their mom to come home. I expect they’ll just play in the basement this morning.

I was lazy last night, so today started with loading and running the dishwasher - at least I’ve got a clean kitchen now… for a few minutes. We’ll see what the rest of the day holds.

Happy Wednesday!!

Mornin’ everyone.

It’s 54F and partly cloudy, with an expected high of 77F and sunny skies by afternoon.

Although yesterday was only a partial work day, there were irritations, and I was glad it ended when it did. I got my hair done-did and then came home to chill out. Chatted with the kids via Messenger for a while too. Their vehicles have been picked up for transport across the country, and they finished loading a trailer with their stuff, which was picked up too. They fly out at 1:30 today. New adventures await, but at least they’re flying in style. They are all flying first class and bringing their two cats in carriers. I am sure one of the two kitties will be completely freaked out; he’s a bit of a scaredy-cat.

I feel very melancholy today as I clean up the last of the toys downstairs to ready them for the trip to an upstairs closet, but I am tucking those feelings back inside so I can smile outside, work, and present my face during meetings.

My night was filled with strange dreams that I only half remember, but two were disturbing enough to wake me up. Whatever disturbed me has eluded my memory.

Well, that kitchen isn’t going to clean itself, so I best finish my coffee and head on out there.

There’s a pizza place here in town that is the epitome of good customer service. Years ago, the first time I ordered from them, I arrived and when I said who I was the young clerk got a stricken look on her face because she realized she hadn’t submitted the order. I worked in food service and I know mistakes happen so I said I’d wait. She ran to the back and brought out the manager who said they’d give me the pizza for free, and I also got a coupon for the next one free. I also got an order of breadsticks someone hadn’t picked up. I’ve been a loyal customer there for a long time now, as it’s not that a mistake was made but how well it was handled.

Morning all. 8 full hours of sleep does wonders for one’s outlook on life, put a load of shirts in the washer first thing and will shortly head out and do some shopping. Swimming and sauna are also planned and I’ll step on the scale in the gym to see what my profligacy while on vacation did to my weight (I suspect it’s still pretty good, did a lot of walking and sweating on my travels. Also need to get the Gas company to quit sending me paper bills since I’m on automatic draft and can check my balance on-line. So in other words, a pretty normal day to get back into the routine. And staying inside–heading to 93F with little chance of rain.

Taters, not surprising that you feel melancholy, but I’m sure the kids will be back to visit once they are settled in (and you and hubs can go visit them). Flying first class in the USA is nice, but nothing compared to overseas flights…but you do get extra arm and leg room, which is nice to have.

FCM, enjoy the day out with the kiddos.

swampy, enjoy the eatin’ part of the day…after paying some airport prices this past week, sounds like a great deal.

shoe, can’t offer any advice on territory-invading mothers, good luck with the phone call. And thanks for the story, there is some reason for humanity to remain around.

JtC, good on ya for the random act of kindness. Enjoy the travels. And I agree, the sameness is all around. Myrtle Beach is a bit different, but once you get of the first two blocks nearest the water, it’s the same as most other towns.

Cat Glove, that’s the way to do it, start with a routine and build upon it. I was up to 1,000 yards before my vacation,. may cut back to 750 this week and build back up. Well see how I feel.

God Bed, food advice from doggio, shop around for the best deal. And walking is good for you…unless it’s 95F and humid, then not so much…

I call him Jack Bats, but I don’t know if that’s the consensus or not. What else is a good MMP name?

Speaking of which, Jack Bats , those are some nice pics, and love the name of the place where you abide. Take care.

suzie, glad you got some rain. Looking rather dry here in Ali-bama, may have to do some lawn watering here in a few days if it continues. And Yea! for wife’s recovery progress.

Real Fish, follow Drs. orders and we’ll keep the lights on.

rocky, best wishes to lager.

Cookie, glad you got out and did a thing, just keep working upwards from it but don’t overdo.

OK, sounds like the spin cycle is about done, so need to transfer the laundry to the dryer. Take care all and have a good Hump Day (it is Wednesday, isn’t it; travel tends to scramble up the days).

Ugh, the neighbors across the street are having a new garage built, and the workers started the generator at 6:45.

I’ve always fancied myself as, J-Bats.

Black as the ace of spades out to the west. Storms are a comin’. Plus the heat….

JtC sounds like a fun road trip. As a reminder, chaps are always assless.

This takes me right back to taking orders for delivery. We were near three college campuses. All students would play the “I didn’t order a pizza, but I’ll take it off your hands for half price” game. These were gourmet pizzas. We brought them back to the shop. So no pizza for overly-clever college students.

Over the moon about the lovely pizza for homeless guy. Homelessness sucks so bad.

Congratulations. Make sure your doc knows about your inability to catch some zzz’s.

I was going to suggest prickly pear to her as they will even grow in zone 4. But if you get lots of rain, they are invasive. FCM, check out iceplant for a pretty groundcover flower.

Lily, yay for the lovely wife and her follow-up appt. Also, yay for rain! We got a doozy of a storm overnight and they trees, shrubs, and farmers are happier for it.

Yay for you! Sounds like you listened to what you needed and you scored a hit. Enjoy your new home.

What? Veggie pizzas are wonderful, especially on a hot summer day when you don’t want to be eating heavy food. Broccoli on pizza can be delicious, but it’s often done wrong (chunks too big or small and pre-cooked soggy so I don’t order it. But as I mentioned far up thread, salami on pizza makes me happy too. And mushrooms.

Cathand, 10 lengths is a great start! Start adding a full lap after your body gets used to it. Good on you!

And now I’m hungry and want that samach. I love the sound of your hotel and your trip in general. Enjoy relaxing.

I’d best get myself to irk. Then unpacking again. Making progress slowly. I cheer every empty box. When I was younger, I’d have thought only 4 boxes a night to be painfully slow. But at the end of 4 boxes, I was sweating last night so I took myself home for a caesar salad dinner.

Happy humpy day!

Got a call in to her office right now, after a very uncomfortable night of a variety of symptoms. I’m pretty sure that the Eliquis anti-clotting drug is the culprit, as my symptoms pretty much define the internet list of same. Hoping she’ll switch me to low-dose aspirin.

Best of luck!

So T, the woman who does not want to be there is on vacation, and Panamanian Vince was MIA again. So I had an odd assortment of characters helping. And Janice learned that the Smalls Dumping station is the red headed stepchild of the redheaded stepchild of the building.
Also, Spot is unhappy with me, because I tossed his new best friend down the garbage disposal. His new best friend was an English Muffin crumb. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Was it the one where you and 2 kittens were battling a horde of fire ants?

So this girl asks if I’m into horse roleplaying. I said “Neigh.”

I like that, it has a military ring to it.
We sent PFC Snafu over to JBATS, to pick up a gallon of prop wash, and some chemlight batteries.

Morning all. Great news, I found a great laptop for school!! An ASUS ROG gaming laptop. What’s nice is I had a ton of graduation money, so I was able to entirely pay for it myself. I think this will be nice because I can use it for both school and games.

Happy Hump Day!

We got Echo and Rayleigh off to daycare. I had signed up Misiu for daycare, but he is having a sleepy day. He didn’t want to get out of bed, he didn’t want to come downstairs, he didn’t want to get dressed, he didn’t want to go out. He has been sleeping all morning.
I’m a little worried, although the GR have had sleepy days before.
I gave him half an aspirin in case he got a fever.
Anyway, we sent in Rayleigh instead. Last week Rayleigh was scared, this week my son said Rayleigh was pulling him in and was trying to run behind the counter. He was excited and happy, so I guess he had a good time last week.

I finally called a lawyer this morning. It was at a company called Just Answer and he told me I need to get a lawyer.
That is the ToDo for today.
The call has been made and now waiting for a call back.
I never heard back from the doctor that I need a driver for Friday, so I am going to assume that yes, I can drive myself home.

Welcome home MetalMouse

Happy Trails to You’, JtC

Shoe, we always offered my parents our guest room when they came to visit, and they always chose to stay at a hotel instead.
Mrs W’s parents would stay with us, but they were lovely people and excellent guests, so I never minded.
I guess what I’m saying is I can’t relate to your trepidation over Mom visiting, but I do sympathize, and I hope it works out OK for you.
