Because she’s a *recovering * anorexic? If it were alcoholism and an ad for Jack Daniels, I could understand your point but since it’s anorexia and an ad for something you need to survive (food in general, not McDonald’s in particular), I’m not seeing the issue.

Meh. It’s ironic, and kinda funny, but they’re in the endorsement business, so i don’t think there’s anything necessarily wrong with it. Though perhaps if the one would have had a Big Mac every once in a while…

Though I wouldn’t necessarily put the Olsen twins in the category of serious actors, you see a lot of this stuff overseas; I remember my surprise at seeing Harrison Ford hawking Japanese cell phones on Japanese TV, in Japanese. I walked around the corner to get a drink, and there on the liquor store wall was a poster with Harrison Ford hugging a giant Kirin Beer bottle. Where it might seem less appropriate for actors of a certain stature to advertise for consumer goods here in the US (Bill Hicks: “What’s the matter, you don’t have enough money, you whore?”) I guess it’s more acceptable and a good way to cash in over there.
Maybe they like McDonald’s. Hell, I like McDonald’s every once in a while. What’s so shameful about it, rata? A more better and more general question might be, what the fuck is up with posting “this says it all” and a link and providing no substance? We’re not going to do your work for you. Most celebrities believe their American fans will never find out or see the foreign ads. There used to be a website that had these commercials, but, IIRC, they were shut down.
